  • Tyler Davis TE | NE

Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Dealing with knee injury

Davis was listed on Jacksonville's injury report Wednesday with a knee injury.

This is the first we're hearing of an injury with the rookie tight end, but it could put his status for Sunday's season opener against the Colts in jeopardy. As more of a blocker than a receiver, Davis wasn't ticketed for a significant fantasy role either way.

  • Mike Gesicki TE | CIN

Dolphins' Mike Gesicki: Limited by injury Wednesday

Gesicki was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a glute injury, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Gesicki appears to have picked up the injury over the weekend, as he had previously been held out of Saturday's practice. The third-year tight end will have two more chances to practice fully and shed his injury tag before Sunday's season opener against New England, so there's not yet any reason to be concerned about his Week 1 availability. With DeVante Parker (hamstring) and Preston Williams (knee) also beginning the week as limited participants, Miami's pass-catching corps will be entering the opener at less-than-optimal health.

  • MarQueis Gray TE | MIA

MarQueis Gray: Doesn't stick in San Fran

Gray was released by the 49ers on Saturday.

Gray failed to carve out a role in a deep tight end room, even though San Francisco opted to retain four players at the position.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Team's top tight end

Knox is listed as the first tight end on the first unofficial depth chart the Bills released Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports.

The Bills may not come out with an "official" depth chart ahead of Week 1, but it's clear Knox is expected to get the biggest share of tight end snaps for now, with Tyler Kroft and blocking specialist Lee Smith working behind him. Knox has the ability to build off his 28-388-2 line from his rookie season, but at the same time, he's got a now-healthy Kroft to share reps with, not to mention a new star wideout in Stefon Diggs in the mix.

  • Troy Fumagalli TE | MIN

    Troy Fumagalli: Reaches injury settlement

Fumagalli (abdomen) reached an injury settlement with the Broncos on Tuesday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.

Fumagalli was originally placed on injured reserve Sunday, but the Broncos ultimately decided to part ways with the second-year tight end. He now has a chance to sign on with another squad, if he can get his abdomen injury cleared.

  • Tyler Mabry TE | CAR

    Tyler Mabry: Waived by Seahawks

Mabry was waived by the Seahawks on Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

In a difficult preseason, the undrafted free agent failed to secure a role on the active roster, as the Seahawks opted to keep four veteran tight ends.

  • Tommy Hudson TE | NO

Tommy Hudson: Nabs practice squad spot

The Titans signed Hudson to the practice squad Sunday, Paul Kuharsky of 104.5 The Zone Nashville reports.

Hudson spent the offseason in Tennessee, and his performance in training camp was solid enough to garner a practice squad spot. The undrafted rookie out of Arizona State stands to continue working on his development as a blocker.

  • Travis Kelce TE | KC

Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Upgrades to full practice

Kelce (knee) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.

After being listed as a limited participant Monday on the Chiefs' first official practice report of the 2020 season, Kelce's ability to take every rep in Tuesday's session erases any concern about his availability for Thursday's game against the Texans. Coming off four straight seasons of at least 80 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards, Kelce profiles as an easy top-two fantasy tight end this season, and his stronger track record on the health front probably makes him a safer choice than 49ers standout George Kittle.

  • Chris Myarick: Cut by Miami

Myarick was cut by the Dolphins on Saturday, Safid Deen and Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun Sentinel report.

Myarick failed to make the roster at tight end. The Dolphins' depth chart at the position consists of Mike Gesicki, Durham Smythe and Adam Shaheen.

  • Nick Bowers TE | MIA

Nick Bowers: Heads to practice squad

The Raiders signed Bowers to the practice squad Sunday, Tadd Haislop of SportingNews.com reports.

Bowers spent the offseason in Las Vegas, but he wasn't able to parley his way into a depth role at tight end. The undrafted rookie out of Penn State will instead get a chance to further his development on the practice squad.
