  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Ravens' Melvin Gordon: Joins Ravens' active roster

The Ravens signed Gordon from their practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.

Rookie halfback Keaton Mitchell went down with a torn ACL on Sunday, and Baltimore promptly promoted Gordon to reinforce the position. In two games with the Ravens earlier this season, Gordon took 13 carries for 53 yards, adding three catches for 46 yards on three targets.

  • Dolphins' Chris Brooks: Joins active roster

Brooks (ankle/knee) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday.

Brooks hasn't played since Week 6 against the Panthers when he suffered an ankle sprain that led to his stint on IR. The return of the BYU product will bolster the depth of the Dolphins' backfield, where he'll slot in behind Raheem Mostert, De'Von Achane and likely Jeff Wilson.

  • Chase Brown RB | CIN

Bengals' Chase Brown: Dealing with injured sternum

Brown was limited at Tuesday's practice due to a sternum injury, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Brown entered Week 13 with five touches in the first six appearances of his career, but the rookie fifth-round pick has come on the last three games, combining for 30 touches for 217 yards from scrimmage and one receiving TD. Assuming he gets through Week 16 prep and is able to play Saturday in Pittsburgh, he'll be a decent enough option for managers in need of RB depth.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Logs full walkthrough Tuesday

Rivers (knee) was a full participant at Tuesday's walkthrough, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

After he was designated for return from injured reserve Tuesday, Rivers was able to handle every rep presented to him, perhaps a good sign that he'll rejoin the active roster ahead of Thursday's game against the Saints. Even if he does, though, Kyren Williams has been dominating the Rams backfield this season, when healthy, and Royce Freeman also gets his fair share of touches on a weekly basis. As for Rivers, his season tallies include 13 carries for 57 yards and four catches (on four targets) for 18 yards in six appearances.

  • Jacques Patrick: Finds new opportunity

Patrick signed with the Jets' practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Patrick was last with the Titans and was cut from their practice squad Oct. 24. The Florida State product will provide some organizational depth for New York at running back, but he'll likely need an injury to occur to find his way to the 53-man roster.

  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Steelers' Najee Harris: No activity Tuesday

Harris (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's injury report, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Harris managed a knee injury the previous two weeks, but he still was active the last two contests, producing 62 rushing yards on 24 carries and three catches on three targets for 19 yards in losses to the Patriots and Colts. In those same games, fellow running back Jaylen Warren racked up 26 touches for 108 yards from scrimmage, so even if Harris is able to play through his knee issue Saturday against the Bengals, he likely will continue to split backfield reps with Warren.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Moves to injured reserve

The Ravens placed Mitchell (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.

The move is merely procedural after the Ravens confirmed Monday that Mitchell sustained a torn ACL in his left knee this past Sunday at Jacksonville. With Mitchell's season over and J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) also on IR, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill will handle most of the backfield reps moving forward, though Melvin Gordon was signed off the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move.

  • Ty Johnson RB | BUF

Bills' Ty Johnson: Limited on practice estimate

Johnson (shoulder) was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated injury report.

Johnson made a brief exit from this past Sunday's win against the Cowboys due to a shoulder injury, and he then visited the X-ray room afterward. He earned a season-high 29 percent snap share in that game and ended up notching nine carries for 54 yards and one catch (on one target) for four yards. Even if he's able to play Saturday at the Chargers, Johnson won't do much more than spell starting running back James Cook, who has reeled off five straight games with 100-plus yards from scrimmage.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Signed off practice squad

The Colts signed Goodson off their practice squad Tuesday.

Having used the maximum three standard elevations on Goodson ahead of the last three contests, Indianapolis needed to add him to the active roster in order for him to be available for game days moving forward. With the status of both Jonathan Taylor (thumb) and Zack Moss (shoulder) up in the air as the team prepares for Sunday's visit to Atlanta, Goodson could see a significant role in the backfield along with Trey Sermon. After Moss went down in the second quarter of this past Saturday's win against the Steelers, Goodson turned 13 touches into 79 yards from scrimmage as he split work with Sermon (17 carries, 88 yards).

  • Jake Funk RB | JAC

Jake Funk: Joins Ravens' practice squad

The Ravens signed Funk to their practice squad Tuesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

With rookie Keaton Mitchell now out for the rest of the season with a ruptured ACL, Baltimore felt it necessary to add some depth at running back ahead of Week 16. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are currently the only healthy halfbacks on the Ravens' active roster, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Funk get elevated from the practice squad as soon as Monday.
