  • Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET

Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Key fumble in loss

Gibbs rushed the ball 12 times for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the 49ers. He added two receptions (on four targets) for 11 yards.

Gibbs began the game well, picking up 35 yards from scrimmage on the team's first four possessions. He had a highlight reel 15-yard touchdown run on the final drive in that span, juking several defenders and breaking through a couple tackles in the process. Things took a turn for the worse midway through the third quarter, however, as Gibbs lost a fumble that led directly to a game-tying touchdown for San Francisco. He got only one touch after that play, a sour close to an otherwise excellent rookie year in which he posted 1,261 yards from scrimmage with 11 total touchdowns across 15 regular-season games. Gibbs will be back with the Lions in 2024 and should lead the backfield alongside David Montgomery.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Finds end zone against 49ers

Montgomery rushed the ball 15 times for 93 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the 49ers. He added two receptions (on two targets) for 20 yards.

Montgomery accounted for Detroit's second score of the game with a one-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. He was also efficient with his opportunities throughout the contest, ripping off long runs of 16 and 15 yards and resulting in his highest yardage total since Week 10. Despite missing three games, Montgomery reached 1,000 rushing yards in the regular season for the second time in his career, and he also tallied a career-high 13 touchdowns. He'll likely be back with the Lions in 2024, continuing to form a potent combination with Jahmyr Gibbs out of the backfield.

  • 49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Carries offense with two more TDs

McCaffrey rushed 20 times for 90 yards and two touchdowns while catching four of five targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 34-31 NFC Championship Game win over the Lions.

McCaffrey proved why he deserves to be in the MVP conversation with an impressive personal effort to will his team to the final round of the playoffs. The dual-threat superstar had a pair of rushing TDs that helped erase a 17-point deficit at halftime. McCaffrey came a couple yards short of a third score on a lengthy run in the fourth quarter, but he was slammed on his head and needed to have his neck worked on by the training staff as Elijah Mitchell spelled him for a short score to finish off the drive. McCaffrey seemed to be in good health and spirits during the postgame victory interview, so he should be available on Sunday, Feb. 11 when the 49ers take on the Chiefs in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Limited to four touches in loss

Edwards rushed three times for 20 yards and secured his only target for 16 yards in the Ravens' 17-10 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

Edwards did plenty with his sparse opportunities, but the Ravens took an atypical pass-heavy approach, even before game script dictated as much. That left the veteran back with little to do on the afternoon, leading to his lowest touch count since Week 17 of the 2022 campaign. Edwards' lackluster season-closing performance notwithstanding, the Rutgers product enjoyed a highly successful regular season that saw him post a career-high 810 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground while also adding new personal bests in catches (12) and receiving yards (180) across 17 regular-season games.

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Shoulders 28 touches in AFCCG win

Pacheco (toe/ankle) turned 24 carries into 68 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 17-10 AFC Championship win over the Ravens.

The Chiefs held Pacheco out of most of this week's practice sessions for maintenance after he suffered a minor toe injury in the win over the Bills in the divisional round. The physical running back suited up as expected and set a new high-water mark in touches (28) that he had just managed two weeks prior (25) in the wild-card win over the Dolphins. Pacheco is clearly Kansas City's top backfield option and is seeing the type of workload that reflects that. Those characteristics are what give Pacheco strong fantasy potential heading into Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Active versus Ravens

Pacheco (toe/ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.

After being held out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco was able to log a limited session Friday and approach Sunday's contest officially listed as questionable. With his active status confirmed, Pacheco is on track to continue to pace the Chiefs backfield versus Baltimore in the absence of any in-game setbacks, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire available to mix in and La'Mical Perine in reserve. During Kansas City's divisional-round win over the Bills last weekend, Pacheco was on the field for 72 percent of his team's snaps on offense en route to rushing 15 times for 97 yards and a touchdown while catching his lone target for 14 yards.

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Expected to play Sunday

Pacheco (toe/ankle) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game matchup with the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Pacheco was a non-participant in practice for consecutive days to start the week due to the pair of injuries before returning to the field Friday as a limited participant. According to James Palmer of NFL Network, the Chiefs had planned all along to withhold Pacheco from practice until Friday, signaling that his pair of absences to begin the week may have been for maintenance purposes more than anything. Assuming he's officially cleared upon the release of the Chiefs' inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 3 p.m. ET kickoff, Pacheco should once again be in store for a robust workload as Kansas City's lead back. Between his final appearance in the regular season in Week 17 against the Bengals and the Chiefs' first two playoff games, Pacheco has handled snap shares north of 70 percent each time out while averaging 22 touches (19 carries and three receptions) for 121.3 yards from scrimmage over those three outings.

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Questionable for Sunday

Pacheco (toe/ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.

After being listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco returned to a limited session Friday and will thus head into the weekend with an official 'questionable' tag ahead of Sunday's 3 p.m. ET kickoff. Look for added context regarding the running back's status to arrive closer to game time, and if Pacheco ends up limited or out versus Baltimore, Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be next in line for added backfield touches for the Chiefs.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Could fit with new coach?

New Titans coach Brian Callahan suggested Friday that he'd like to work with Henry, who is scheduled for unrestricted free agency this offseason, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports. "A player like [Henry' fits into any offense," Callahan said. "If he's open to a return, that fits for us. I'm never going to reject good players. "

The hiring of a head coach that previously served as offensive coordinator for the pass-first Bengals has been taken by some as a(nother) sign Henry is likely to leave Tennessee. Callahan does have a point, however, in part because Henry is probably a better receiver and blocker than he gets credit for. The two other big factors here are: A) money, and B) the possibility Henry wants to play for a team with better Super Bowl odds in 2024. He turned 30 at the beginning of January, three days before running for 153 yards and a touchdown in a 28-20 win over Jacksonville. It was Henry's fourth 100-yard game of the season, boosting his per-carry average to 4.2 yards and allowing him to finish second in the league in rushing yardage (1,167).

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Spotted at practice

Pacheco (toe/ankle) was present for practice Friday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

After being deemed a non-participant both Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco's return to the field Friday has him trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens. The Chiefs' final injury report of the week will clarify whether the team's top running back heads into the weekend with an injury designation or fully cleared to face Baltimore.
