Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Limited to 18 total yards in loss
Lloyd rushed four times for 11 yards and brought in two of three targets for seven yards in the Packers' 35-14 loss to the Falcons on Thursday.
The inefficiency reflected in Lloyd's final line underscores the type of season it's been so far for the second-year back, who's tried in vain to serve as a serviceable replacement for Josh Jacobs (personal) while he remains on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Lloyd's rushing opportunities were limited Thursday largely due to game script, but the 2024 third-round pick is averaging just 3.0 yards per carry through three games and has complemented it with an unremarkable 4-13-0 line through the air. Lloyd, Chris Brooks and Kaleb Johnson will continue to share the Packers' backfield workload in a Week 4 road matchup against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Oct. 4.

Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Catches TD in Week 2 win
Lloyd rushed six times for 20 yards in the Packers' 20-17 overtime win over the Jets on Sunday. He added two catches for six yards and a touchdown on two targets.
Lloyd got the start out of the backfield for Green Bay and scored his first career regular-season touchdown with a six-yard catch in the second quarter. That's the good news. The bad news is Lloyd played a total of just 16 offensive snaps and lost a fumble deep in his own territory early in the fourth quarter. He never touched the ball again following the fumble, as Kaleb Johnson took over as the early-down back in overtime, with Chris Brooks remaining the preferred option in passing situations. Lloyd gets a dream matchup with the Falcons on Thursday night, but it's fair to wonder about his role headed into that Week 3 contest.

Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Leading rusher in ineffective RB room
Lloyd rushed 13 times for 37 yards and didn't catch his lone target in Sunday's 39-22 loss to the Vikings.
Lloyd worked ahead of Chris Brooks (seven carries for 29 yards) in a Packers backfield that struggled to generate much in the absence of Josh Jacobs (personal), who is on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Jordan Love threw 42 passes compared to 20 combined carries for Lloyd and Brooks, even though Green Bay led for most of the game prior to being outscored 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Lloyd looks poised to handle double-digit touches again in Week 2 against the Jets.

Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Set to work in committee
Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich suggested Tuesday that Lloyd could be part of a backfield committee to begin the season while Josh Jacobs (personal) remains on the Commissioner's Exempt List, Weston Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. "It's gonna be running back by committee for a little bit to see where everyone is at," Stenavich said. "[Lloyd] definitely has explosive ability, playmaking ability."
Though he profiles as the most enticing fantasy option of a backfield group that includes Kaleb Johnson and Chris Brooks, Lloyd doesn't look like he'll be called upon to handle a workhorse role during Jacobs' absence. While Lloyd made it through training camp and the preseason healthy and flashed his upside as both a ball carrier and pass catcher, durability has not been his string suit in the NFL. The 2024 third-round pick been limited to just one career game on account of multiple soft-tissue injuries, in addition to an emergency appendectomy.
