Devin Singletary RB | NYG
Giants' Devin Singletary: Finds paydirt in preseason loss
Singletary carried the ball 10 times for 20 yards and a touchdown and failed to catch his only target in Saturday's 28-10 preseason loss to the Texans.
The Giants' first-team offense played the entire first half, but Singletary wasn't able to gain much yardage against a stout Texans front seven. The veteran back did manage to punch in a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter, however. He's set to begin the season as the Giants' top option in the backfield, and with rookie Tyrone Tracy (ankle) potentially on the shelf for Week 1, Singletary could wind up seeing more work as a receiver than anticipated early in the year. His experience in Brian Daboll's scheme -- Daboll was Singletary's offensive coordinator for three seasons in Buffalo -- should allow him to hit the ground running with his new team after he amassed 1,091 scrimmage yards over 17 regular-season games for Houston in 2023.

Jaylen Warren RB | PIT
Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Injures hamstring Saturday
Warren suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Bills, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The team officially is listing Warren as doubtful to return, but such a designation should be taken with a grain of salt considering it's exhibition season and not the regular season. Still, the situation should be monitored to get a sense of its impact on Warren, fellow RB Najee Harris and the rest of the Steelers backfield. Warren is on the heels of a 2023 campaign in which he posted 1,154 yards from scrimmage and four rushing touchdowns in 17 regular-season games.

Isiah Pacheco RB | DET
Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Brief preseason showing
Pacheco ran for two yards on one carry in Saturday's preseason game against Detroit.
Pacheco has nothing to prove to the Chiefs, so they put him on the field for one drive and gave him the day off otherwise. Not only is Pacheco primed for potentially career-best rushing production in 2024, but the Chiefs appear to have less passing-down competition for the third-year back than either of his prior two NFL seasons. If Pacheco can maintain his high rushing standards while adding more as a pass catcher, he could break out to a new level in 2024.

Jeff Wilson RB | MIA
Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Not in uniform Saturday
Wilson, Ahmed and Jaylen Wright aren't in uniform for Saturday's preseason game against Washington, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.
The Dolphins are expected to play a lot of their key players, possibly including RBs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. However, it'll be surprising if either of those guys plays beyond the first few drives, which means Chris Brooks should get a ton of playing time if Wilson, Ahmed and Wright are all held out.
-
Gus Edwards RB | LAC
Chargers' Gus Edwards: Not suiting up
Edwards and J.K. Dobbins aren't in uniform for pregame warmups ahead of Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Other veterans not in uniform include QB Justin Herbert (foot), TE Hayden Hurst, S Derwin James and OLB Joey Bosa. The Chargers may or may not play some starters but seem to be resting their most experienced players. Jaret Patterson, Kimani Vidal, Isaiah Spiller and Elijah Dotson are the backfield options Saturday night.
-
Jaylen Wright RB | MIA
Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Not in uniform
Wright isn't in uniform ahead of Saturday's preseason game against Washington, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Wright took 10 carries for 55 yards and a TD in Miami's preseason-opening win over the Falcons last Friday, breaking off a couple runs that allowed him to flash his impressive speed. With no injury reported, the Dolphins may just be holding the rookie out to get other players more snaps.

Zamir White RB | LV
Raiders' Zamir White: Likely to play Saturday
White and the Raiders' other healthy starters are expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against Dallas, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Coach Antonio Pierce didn't discuss specific names apart from the quarterback but did say "if you're healthy, you'll play." It's unclear if that applies to, say, WR Davante Adams, who was held out of the preseason opener while a slew of other starters played, including White, WR Jakobi Meyers and TEs Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer. White finished the game with six carries for 23 yards and a touchdown, getting most of his playing time on the first couple drives before taking a couple goal-line snaps in the second quarter and punching in a short touchdown.
-
Travis Etienne RB | NO
Jaguars' Travis Etienne: Unlikely to play
Etienne and other key Jaguars are unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game against Tampa Bay, Zach Goodall of USA Today reports.
Etienne played one series in Jacksonville's preseason opener, taking four carries for three yards before catching a nine-yard TD pass to close out the opening drive. It won't come as any surprise if that's the only action he sees this preseason, as there's no doubt about his standing atop the depth chart, and he'll likely play a lot of snaps Week 1 at Miami.
-
Breece Hall RB | NYJ
Jets' Breece Hall: Not suiting up Saturday
Hall isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason game at Carolina, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
Hall is the only Jets running back not suiting up for the team's second exhibition, leaving Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, Israel Abanikanda, Deon Jackson and Xazavian Valladay to handle the backfield Saturday. With one preseason contest to go for New York, it remains to be seen if Hall will get any reps prior to Week 1, but if he doesn't, he'll be looking to one-up the 1,585 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns that he compiled in 17 regular-season games in 2023.

Jase McClellan RB | TB
Falcons' Jase McClellan: Scores late TD
McClellan took 11 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 13-12 preseason loss to the Ravens.
Carlos Washington, a 2023 UDFA, worked ahead of McClellan for a second straight week, getting the start and most of the first-half playing time while Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier were held out. McClellan had some nice plays in the second half, including a TD in the final minute, but he was stuffed on a subsequent two-point conversion attempt to take the lead. The rookie sixth-round pick seems to be on the roster bubble, competing with Washington for the third RB spot on a team with the top two backs set in stone.
