Samaje Perine RB | CIN
Chiefs' Samaje Perine: Could play in Week 1
GM Brett Veach relayed Thursday that he hopes Perine will be able to play in next week's season opener against the Ravens, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
The Chiefs kick off their 2024 campaign next Thursday, which shortens the amount of time the looming addition will have to get up to speed with the team's offense ahead of Week 1. However, as the season progresses it's plausible that Perine will have a chance to earn a key complementary role for his new team behind top back Isiah Pacheco.

Tyler Badie: Staying in Denver
Badie signed with the Broncos' practice squad Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.

D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE
Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Returning to Cleveland
Foreman agreed to a new contract with the Browns on Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Foreman was among Cleveland's initial roster cuts Tuesday, but the looming release of quarterback Tyler Huntley creates a spot for him to return to the team, which was always the plan. With Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) both out the first four games of the season and potentially longer, Foreman will be positioned for a potentially significant role out of the backfield. Jerome Ford projects to be the Browns' starting back until Chubb is able to return, but Foreman and Pierre Strong (ribs) could rotate in.

Emani Bailey RB | CAR
Emani Bailey: Quick return to KC
The Chiefs signed Bailey to the practice squad Wednesday.
Bailey signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. He had a very productive final year in college at TCU but was beaten out by Carson Steele for a roster spot to begin the season.

Jabari Small RB | DET
Jabari Small: Lands on Tennessee's practice squad
The Titans signed Small to the practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Small signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. He worked behind Jaylen Wright at the University of Tennessee in his final season but still managed 475 yards on the ground while scoring two touchdowns. The Titans have only three backs on their roster, meaning Small could find his way to active status at some point this season.

George Holani RB | SEA
George Holani: Back with Seattle on taxi squad
Holani signed with the Seahawks' practice squad Wednesday.
Holani wasn't able to supplant Kenny McIntosh for the No. 3 running back job behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet (undisclosed). Holani was invited back to Seattle's taxi squad after a strong training camp, and across three preseason games, he recorded 15 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns while adding three catches (on four targets) for 15 yards. Holani, who signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in April, would be a candidate to be elevated to the active roster should Walker, Charbonnet or McIntosh miss time.

Michael Wiley RB | TB
Michael Wiley: Joins Washington's taxi squad
Wiley signed with the Commanders' practice squad Wednesday.
Wiley signed with Washington in April as an undrafted free agent. The Arizona product missed OTAs due to a thumb injury he sustained during the Senior Bowl, but he was able to participate in training camp. Across three preseason games, Wiley turned 17 carries into 67 yards and two touchdowns while adding six catches for 37 yards. Wiley will begin the 2024 season on the Commanders' taxi squad, and he could be elevated to the active roster should Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler or Jeremy McNichols miss time.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. RB | JAC
Chris Rodriguez: Sticks around on practice squad
The Commanders signed Rodriguez to the practice squad Wednesday.
The 2023 sixth-round pick appeared in 13 regular-season games for the Commanders in his rookie year, and over the last five games, Rodriguez turned 37 carries into 186 yards and two touchdowns while adding two catches for 12 yards. Despite that production, Rodriguez lost out to Jeremy McNichols for the No. 3 running back job behind Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler. Rodriguez will stick around with Washington on the practice squad, and he should be elevated to the active roster if Robinson, Ekeler or McNichols are unable to play.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Reverts to IR
Jordan (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Per the report, the running back plans to do an injury settlement with the Texans at some point, which would giving him a chance to play in 2024 once he's healthy. Jordan had 21 carries for 55 yards and five catches for 49 yards in four preseason appearances with Houston. The rookie was drafted in the sixth round by Houston back in April.
