The NFL has suspended Redd indefinitely for a violation of the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bans of this variety are due to continued positive tests, which is evident as Redd has yet to serve a four-gamer for a similar violation due to his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL. Once healthy enough to return to the field, he'll have to bide his time and do his due diligence considering NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be in charge of any reinstatement effort.

Hillman and the Broncos have discussed parameters of a new contract, The Denver Post reports.

Hillman is currently an unrestriced free agent, but with underwhelming interest on the open market, his representatives have engaged with the Broncos on discussions for a contract to remain in Denver. While at this time it's unclear whether the parties will ultimately be able to strike a deal, the Broncos' four-year, $18 million investment in fellow running back C.J. Anderson this offseason may lead them to pursue an alternative cheaper than Hillman through the draft. That being said, Hillman started 12 total games last season and looked comfortable in coach Gary Kubiak's zone-blocking scheme, rushing for a career-high 863 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season.

Rainey has signed with the Giants, NJ.com reports.

Rainey played in all 16 games for the Buccaneers last season, with the vast majority of his contributions coming on special teams as a kick and punt returner. Although he played well at running back for the Bucs' league-worst 2014 team, Rainey's role with the Giants will likely be rooted in special teams work, with his presence simply providing depth in the backfield.

Cunningham, who had been a restricted free agent, has re-signed with the Rams, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Cunningham -- who rushed for 140 yards on 37 carries and caught 26 passes for 250 yards in 2015 -- had visited with the Patriots in free agency, but he has elected to re-up with Los Angeles where he continue to provide the Rams' backfield with a change-of-pace element behind Todd Gurley, as well as contribute on special teams.

The Broncos and Hillman have reportedly exchanged contract proposals, 9news.com reports.

More than a month into free agency, Hillman remains unsigned and given that he has been unable to land a lucrative deal elsewhere, a return to the Broncos is beginning to appear more and more plausible. If that happens though, Hillman would be in line to serve in a complementary role behind C.J. Anderson, with the report further suggesting that the Broncos are expected to add running back help via the draft later this month.

Rawls, who is bouncing back from a season-ending broken ankle that he suffered in Week 14 last season, maintains that he plans to "be ready for (training) camp."

"I'm just taking it day by day," Rawls noted with regard to his recovery from his ankle injury. "I'm getting better. I'm walking on my own, I'm doing a lot of good things, and my recovery is coming very quickly, so I'm looking forward to being out there very soon." Rawls, who ended up rushing for 830 yards and four touchdowns on 147 carries during his rookie season in 2015, appears poised to take over the Seahawks' starting tailback job from Marshawn Lynch, who announced his retirement as a player this offseason. Joining Rawls in the team's backfield mix at this time are Christine Michael and Cameron Marshall, but the team is sure to add some depth on that front, presumably no later than the upcoming NFL draft.

West signed his exclusive-rights tender, the Baltimore Sun reports.

West has lost nearly 15 pounds already this offseason, and he recently said that he hopes to compete for a starting job. In reality, he'll likely just be fighting to earn a roster spot, with Justin Forsett and Javorius Allen likely to enter training camp as the Ravens' top two running backs. West, a Baltimore native, had 46 carries for 180 yards in six games with the Ravens last season.

Magee has signed an exclusive rights contract with the Ravens.

Magee had just two carries for five yards and one reception for two yards in 2015, his first season in the league. Despite not getting many opportunities, Magee was just an undrafted rookie, so making the roster was an accomplishment in itself, let alone playing. In all, he played 23 snaps last year, 11 on offense and 12 on special teams, which he'll look to build on in his second professional season. That being said, don't expect him to make much of a jump. He'll likely be buried on the depth chart once again, with Justin Forsett (arm), Javorius Allen, Lorenzo Taliaferro, and Terrance West all also with the team. Magee's only opportunity to play will likely be special teams, unless injuries force him into a larger role.

Coach Gary Kubiak relayed the Broncos would consider bringing Hillman back later this offseason, ESPN.com reports.

With Hillman still unsigned this deep into free agency, such an outcome now looks plausible, though in such a scenario, he'd presumably be brought back for a complementary role behind C.J. Anderson, whose four-year, $18-million offer sheet (from Miami) the Broncos elected to match. Also currently in Denver's depth RB mix are Juwan Thompson, Kapri Bibbs and Cyrus Gray.

The Dolphins and Thomas (knee) agreed to a contract Thursday, Rand Getlin of NFL Network reports.

After dabbling in but ultimately losing out on C.J. Anderson and Chris Johnson, the Dolphins are following a cheap path to production out of the backfield with the additions of Thomas and Isaiah Pead on Thursday. Thomas himself remained unemployed last season following his release from the Bears near the tail end of the preseason slate. In four previous campaigns with the Dolphins, he didn't exactly turn heads, averaging 3.6 YPC, hauling in 55 passes, and scoring 13 touchdowns in 52 games. If he's still with the team out of training camp, he'll more than likely play second fiddle, at best, to sophomore RB Jay Ajayi.
