  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Sizable workload Sunday

Wilkins had nine carries for 40 yards in Sunday's win over the Vikings

Wilkins played 17 snaps on offense compared to nine snaps for Nyheim Hines in backup duty behind Jonathan Taylor (49 snaps). Wilkins got most of his carries late in the game when it became a blowout, so he's still likely the third running back with Nyheim Hines likely ahead of him and more likely to get work on passing downs. Either way, Sunday's game showed that Taylor is likely to get the majority of touches in the backfield.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Dealing with high-ankle sprain

McCaffrey suffered a right high-ankle sprain during Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers and will miss 4-to-6 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

McCaffrey underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the exact severity of his ankle injury, and the results confirm a brutal scenario for the Panthers. The team will be forced to proceed without the every-down, do-it-all backfield weapon for at least the next month, and high-ankle sprains are notorious for causing lingering issues even after players are able to return to the field. Mike Davis is the likeliest candidate to start against the Chargers in Week 3, while Curtis Samuel and Trenton Cannon are options to take backfield reps. The Panthers also will likely promote Reggie Bonnafon from the practice squad in the near future.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Gets five carries late

Dillon had five carries for 17 yards in Sunday's victory over the Lions.

Dillon did not take a snap on offense until late in Sunday's game, but the Packers gave him a chance to stretch his legs on their final couple drives, and he ended up with three more carries than he totaled Week 1. Dillon is a distant fourth among Packers running backs in snaps played through two weeks, but he has made the most of his opportunities, averaging a respectable 4.4 YPC on his first seven rushing attempts as a pro.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Season-ending injury confirmed

Barkley suffered a torn right ACL during Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bears, the severity of which has been confirmed by an MRI.

Barkley is slated to undergo season-ending ACL surgery in the near future. The superstar running back should have plenty of time to return to full health for 2021, but for the time being the Giants will proceed with Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman out of the backfield. The team also will host veteran free agent Devonta Freeman for a visit this week, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Expected to miss multiple weeks

McCaffrey (ankle) is expected to sit out "multiple weeks" due to the injury he sustained during Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Buccaneers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

McCaffrey suffered the injury late during the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss, and he's slated to undergo an MRI on Monday to officially determine the nature of his ankle issue. If the every-down superstar is indeed forced to miss multiple weeks, Mike Davis will be the top candidate to replace him in Carolina's backfield. Curtis Samuel and Trenton Cannon could also see reps at running back, while the team may promote Reggie Bonnafon from the practice squad.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

Dolphins' Matt Breida: Small workload in loss

Breida had seven carries for 37 yards during Sunday's 33-28 loss to the Bills.

Breida also secured one of two targets for two yards. Myles Gaskin once again operated as the Dolphins' lead back, while Jordan Howard handled short-yardage work and touches around the goal line. Breida had the same amount of carries as Gaskin but saw five less targets, and he was far less efficient with the passing looks he did garner. The 25-year-old has now gone back-to-back games with less than double-digit touches, so he'll be difficult to rely on for fantasy purposes when the Dolphins head to Jacksonville on Thursday.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Just three touches Sunday

Pollard rushed for six yards on two carries and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's comeback win over the Falcons.

Ezekiel Elliott once again saw a heavy workload with 28 touches, leaving little action left over for Pollard aside from his duties on kickoffs, which produced 106 yards on five returns. The second-year back will need to bide his time and wait for a game with a more favorable script before getting a chance to make an impact.

  • Benny Snell RB | DET

Steelers' Benny Snell: One yard from scrimmage Sunday

Snell ran three times for five yards and lost a fumble in Pittsburgh's 26-21 win over Denver on Sunday.

Coming off his 113-yard effort in relief of James Conner (ankle) last week, it was thought that Snell might split carries against the Broncos. Instead, he saw just four touches, including a four-yard loss on his only reception of the game. His fumble in the fourth quarter made the game interesting but the Steelers held on to go 2-0 for the first time since 2016. With Conner healthy, Snell will likely take a backseat in Week 3 against the Texans.

  • Alex Armah FB | WAS

Panthers' Alex Armah: Catches one pass

Armah caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Buccaneers.

Armah already has three touches through Carolina's first two games, as coordinator Joe Brady looks to diversify his options out of the backfield with occasional fullback usage. Although Armah's production hasn't been anything special, he at least gets rewarded for his blocking with a touch here and there. Furthermore, if tailback Christian McCaffrey, who exited late with an ankle concern Sunday, is limited going forward, Armah could stand to get a couple more looks in Week 3 versus the Chargers.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Catches six passes vs. Chargers

Edwards-Helaire carried 10 times for 38 yards and caught six of eight targets for an additional 32 yards during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Chargers.

After starring in the season opener, Edwards-Helaire averaged a lackluster 3.8 yards per carry in this one. He was much more involved as a pass catcher, however, and demonstrated the ability that made him such a tantalizing fantasy prospect leading up to the season. Despite a rather meager per-touch output in Week 2, the rookie still has 208 scrimmage yards and a touchdown through his first two NFL contests. Edwards-Helaire could find the sledding tough next Monday night against Baltimore, but his multi-faceted skillset should allow him to generate ample fantasy utility.
