  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Held in check by Ravens

Chubb gained 45 yards on 15 carries and did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 31-15 loss to the Ravens.

As Chubb has been the Browns' best player, the Ravens knew he was the first weapon to take away. The 45 yards from scrimmage is his lowest output of the season by a wide margin. If the Browns had entertained any thoughts of an upset or keeping their faint playoff hopes alive, they needed to open holes for him. Chubb will look to finish off the season with a better performance in Week 17 against the Bengals' 32nd-ranked run defense -- he averaged 7.1 yards per carry and gained 106 yards against them in Week 14.

  • Bears' Cordarrelle Patterson: Receives two touches

Patterson had a 16-yard run and a five-yard reception in the Bears' 26-3 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

Patterson has had three or fewer touches in all but one game this season, and he won't be a recommended fantasy option in Week 17 against the Vikings.

  • Chiefs' Damien Williams: Leads backfield and scores

Williams rushed 16 times for 65 yards and caught three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Bears.

LeSean McCoy was a healthy scratch for this contest, leaving Williams as the unquestioned lead back in his return from a three-game injury layoff. The 27-year-old didn't appear to be limited by the ribs injury that kept him on the shelf, dominating the backfield touches with 19 and averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Next week's opponent, the Los Angeles Chargers, are one of the toughest teams to throw on but can be beat on the ground (110.3 rushing yards allowed per game), making Williams a high-upside play given the matchup and his clear lead-back role.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Receives 14 touches

Montgomery rushed 13 times for 57 yards and caught one pass for two yards in the Bears' 26-3 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

Aside from one drive in the third quarter when Montgomery had three productive runs, he was a non-factor in a game in which the Bears were unable to compete. After having posted at least 49 combined yards in each of his last four games, he'll be a volume-based option at running back in Week 17 against the Vikings.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Finds end zone again

Sanders carried the ball 20 times for 79 yards and a touchdown and caught five of six targets for 77 yards in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Cowboys.

On a day when offense was at a premium, Sanders was the most dangerous player on the field, and his one-yard TD plunge late in the third quarter proved to be the difference. The rookie has grabbed hold of the No, 1 RB job with 588 scrimmage yards and four TDs over the last five games, and he'll look to help the Eagles clinch the NFC East title next week against the Giants.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Modest numbers in Philly

Elliott carried the ball 13 times for 47 yards and caught all seven of his targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Eagles.

With Dak Prescott unable to generate much offense through the air, the Philadelphia defense was able to concentrate on stuffing Elliott, and he was held below 50 rushing yards for the first time since Week 11. The fourth-year back will look to finish the season on a high note in next week's must-win game against a Washington defense that just got steamrolled by Saquon Barkley.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: Romps again in win

Drake carried the ball 24 times for 166 yards and two touchdowns and caught three of four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Seahawks.

The mid-season trade that brought Drake over from Miami in exchange for a conditional Day Three pick in the 2020 draft is looking like a steal for Arizona. The fourth-year running back has erupted for 303 rushing yards and six TDs over the last two games, grabbing a firm hold of the starting job over David Johnson in the process. Drake will look to finish the season on a high note, and increase his asking price in free agency, in Week 17's road clash with the Rams.

  • Saints' Latavius Murray: Struggles on nine touches

Murray carried seven times for 14 yards and secured two of three targets for 11 yards in the Saints' 38-28 win over the Titans on Sunday.

It was a slow afternoon for Murray, who averaged less than four yards on his nine touches against Tennessee. Unlike in prior weeks, Murray took a clear backseat to Alvin Kamara, as the latter exploded for 110 yards and a touchdown. Murray has played admirably this season -- even in a backup capacity -- and he should have an easier time finding running room against a subpar Panthers' run defense in Week 17.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Broncos' Royce Freeman: Accounts for one of two rushing TDs

Freeman ran for 28 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and caught both of his targets for nine receiving yards during Sunday's 27-17 win against the Lions.

The record-setting back out of Oregon has eclipsed 35 rushing yards just once since Week 5, but Sunday he broke a skid of six consecutive games without a rushing TD. Freeman was much more involved over the first half of the year in comparison to his current role, as he racked up 11 carries and 3.3 receptions per game between Weeks 1 and 8. Since Week 9, however, the 23-year-old Freeman has been afforded just 9.8 offensive touches per game while failing to exceed 14 receiving yards in any outing. He'll continue to serve as a secondary option to Phillip Lindsay in Denver's regular-season finale against Oakland's top-15 rush defense.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Increased duties on tap

Homer rushed five times for 16 yards and caught six of eight targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Cardinals.

Homer wasn't efficient on the ground with just 3.2 yards per carry, but he led the team in targets. The bigger story, however, is that Chris Carson (hip) and C.J. Prosise (arm) left the game in the first half, and they've been ruled out for the season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. With Rashaad Penny (knee) already done for the year, Homer is the only remaining healthy running back. The Seahawks will need to call in reinforcements -- Xavier Turner is currently on their practice squad -- but considering Homer didn't play an offensive snap until last week's win over the Panthers, there's no guarantee he's in line for a bell-cow role. The injuries may force coach Pete Carroll to shift away from his typical run-heavy scheme, and the the backfield could turn into a committee. The matchup is favorable, however, as the 49ers have allowed the 10th-highest yards per carry (4.5) this season.
