Perine re-signed Wednesday with the Bengals on a two-year deal, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Perine proved himself as a capable depth piece last season, averaging 4.8 yards per carry while working behind Giovani Bernard after Joe Mixon went down with a foot injury. He'll likely handle a similar role going forward, with the potential opportunity to compete against Bernard for the top backup spot this offseason.

The Jaguars released Reynolds on Wednesday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Reynolds signed a reserve/future contract with the Jags back in January, but he was cut in advance of the new league year. With James Robinson (ankle) and Carlos Hyde under contract for the 2021 season, Reynolds wouldn't have seen much work on offense anyway. The 24-year-old will seek a depth role on the open market.

Mack (Achilles) re-signed Wednesday with the Colts on a one-year, $2 million deal, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Mack suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon Week 1 and missed the remainder of the season, but he's since progressed to the point that he's expected to be full participant by the time training camp rolls around, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. At this point, Mack is estimated to be about 80 to 90 percent healthy, per Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio. Mack will at least have the benefit of returning to an offense that he's already familiar with as he works his way back to 100 percent. Either way, the 25-year-old will presumably slot in behind Jonathan Taylor to start the 2021 campaign, leaving him in line to fill a complementary role along with Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins.

Williams agreed to a two-year contract worth up to $7.5 million with the Lions on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The 25-year-old expressed a desire to stay in Green Bay earlier this offseason, but after the Packers re-signed Aaron Jones, Williams will move on to Detroit. He primarily operated as the Packers' No. 2 running back and rushed for 505 yards on 4.2 yards per carry while catching 31 passes for 236 yards with three total touchdowns in 2020. He should fill a similar role in the Lions' backfield behind D'Andre Swift.

Armah signed with the Saints on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Armah played 55 games for the Panthers over the past four seasons. He was mostly used in a blocking role, but he managed to score three touchdowns anyway. This signing likely means that fullback Michael Burton won't return to New Orleans. Burton averaged roughly 14 offensive snaps per game in 2020, so Armah can expect a similar role during his first season in the Big Easy.

Williams will be released by Kansas City, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Per Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star, Williams' release will save the Chiefs $2.175 million against their salary cap. The running back opted out of the 2020 season, but plans to resume playing in 2021.The 28-year-old, who logged 111 carries for 498 yards and five TDs in 11 games during the 2019 campaign, should catch on elsewhere as a depth back, but he has the ability to carve out a larger role down the road in the right team context.

Williams signed a one-year contract Tuesday worth up to $2.13 million to remain with the Chiefs, Sam McDowell and Herbie Teope of the Belleville News-Democrat report.

The contract includes $930,000 in guaranteed money. Williams took on a larger role in the playoffs last season with injuries bothering Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but Edwards-Helaire and Damien Williams -- who's also expected to return after sitting out last season -- are both safe bets to open above Darrel on the depth chart.

Boone isn't receiving a tender from the Vikings, making him an unrestricted free agent, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Tomasson notes that the Vikings are interested in retaining Boone, but the team deemed the price to tender him too high for a third-string running back and special teams contributor. Boone will likely test the market in hopes of finding a No. 2 running back job, but if none materializes, it's possible he opts to return to Minnesota and retain his previous role.

Jones announced via his personal Twitter account Sunday that he has re-signed with the Packers.

The 2021 free agency class has lost its prospective top running back, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Jones and the Packers have come to terms on a four-year deal worth up to $48 million, with a $13 million signing bonus. The 26-year-old is coming off back-to-back seasons with over 1,000 rushing yards, and he's been above 5.0 yards per carry in three of his four years in Green Bay. By virtue of sticking in a proven landing spot, alongside an elite quarterback and behind a top notch offensive line, Jones no doubt will reprise his standing as one of the top running backs off the board in fantasy drafts next season. All that remains to be seen is whether AJ Dillon carves out a larger complementary role, which likely will happen if Jamaal Williams ends up leaving in free agency.

Though Mack could have a tough time earning a multi-year deal with substantial guaranteed money, he shouldn't have much trouble drawing interest from teams in need of a reliable tailback. He's just one year removed from a 1,091-yard rushing season, in which he also scored eight times on the ground across 14 appearances.
