Cook is not listed among the players the Vikings indicated aren't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins is expected to start at QB for the Vikings on Saturday, while WR Justin Jefferson (shoulder) is in line to sit. Assuming Cook does take the field Saturday, it remains to be seen how many touches he might see, but it seems unlikely he'll handle a heavy workload for the team until Week 1 of the regular season.

McCaffrey suited up for Saturday's preseason game against the Ravens, Bill Voth of the Panthers' official site reports.

Per Steve Reed of the Associated Press, the same applies to QB Sam Darnold and WRs DJ Moore and Robby Anderson, but it remains to be seen how much action they're in line to see. In McCaffrey's case, if he does see the field Saturday night, it likely wouldn't be for long.

The Raiders might view Drake and Josh Jacobs similarly to coach Jon Gruden's Charlie Garner and Tyrone Wheatley backfields, according to ESPN.com.

The Raiders have invested a lot in Jacobs and paid up for Drake in free agency, so they likely intend to make both players productive in 2021. With Jacobs as the starter and bruising power runner between the two, Las Vegas will look to Drake to change up the pace and offer a leaner, more speedy look in the backfield when Jacobs needs a breather. Garner was a much better pass catcher and much better player generally than Drake is, but Drake could still hold a sizeable presence as the lightning element to Jacobs' thunder in 2021.

Montgomery did not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.

Montgomery overcame an undisclosed injury to return to practice earlier in the week, though the team decided to play it safe with its workhorse back. Damien Williams worked as the primary back in Montgomery's place and carried the ball five times for eight yards. It remains to be seen whether Montgomery will get touches in the team's final preseason game against Tennessee, though the focus presumably will be on him maintaining his health for the regular season.

Herbert rushed three times for 15 yards and a touchdown while adding a three-yard reception in the Bears' 41-15 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday.

Herbert played with the second-team offense in the second half, and he took advantage of the mobility of Justin Fields, as the quarterback had the defense leaning in the wrong direction when Herbert converted a 13-yard touchdown run. While Tarik Cohen (knee) continues to miss time, Herbert seems to be tightening his grip on the No. 3 role in the Chicago backfield.

Williams rushed five times for eight yards while hauling in a two-yard reception in the Bears' 41-15 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday.

With David Montgomery sitting out, Williams served as Chicago's primary back with the first-team offense. However, with Andy Dalton largely unable to move the offense and the offensive line not creating much space, Williams was unable to get in a groove and was largely ineffective with his chances. Regardless, with Tarik Cohen (knee) still missing time, Williams should have a role as the backup to Montgomery once the season begins, and it's possible he sees work on passing downs.

Moss carried the ball four times for 21 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Bears.

Moss made his 2021 debut after undergoing offseason ankle surgery and battling a minor hamstring injury during training camp. He played on only one drive and worked exclusively after Devin Singletary was out of the game, picking up notable gains of six and 11 yards. Moss appears to be behind Singletary on the depth chart for the time being, though that makes sense given his inability to stay on the field consistently to this point.

Singletary carried the ball twice for 21 yards and a touchdown and added one reception for five yards in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago.

Singletary got all of his work on the team's first two drives and was particularly effective on the ground. He took his first carry for seven yards and then ripped of a 14-yard rush to the end zone to cap the team's first drive. Singletary has scored a touchdown in each the Bills' first two preseason games, which is notable given that he's scored only four touchdowns on the ground between his first two seasons in the league combined. Also notable was that Singletary clearly worked ahead of Zack Moss, though Moss may not yet be fully up to speed after undergoing ankle surgery in the offseason and battling a hamstring injury during training camp.

Jones is one of 32 Packers who did not suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Jets.

The Packers elected to rest most of their key starters Saturday, and it's unclear if the likes of Jones and the team's other top skill players will see game action before Week 1. Also not in uniform Saturday are QB Aaron Rodgers, WRs Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, as well as TE Robert Tonyan.

Ward (ankle) carried the ball three times for 17 yards and also caught both of his targets for 14 yards in Friday's 17-10 preseason loss to the Chiefs.

Ward injured his ankle after a healthy workload in the opening preseason matchup against the Cowboys, but the rotational back was able to make a return Friday. The 23-year-old is in a tight competition with 2020 seventh-round pick, Eno Benjamin, for the No. 3 job behind committee-combo Chase Edmonds and James Conner.
