  • Colts' Nyheim Hines: Just two touches Sunday

Hines had one carry for five yards and one reception on two targets for 17 yards in Sunday's loss to the Rams.

Hines played 25 snaps and went out for a pass on 20 plays, which was in line with Week 1, but he didn't figure into the game plan as much. He had just two games last season with fewer than two receptions. Part of that may be due to an offensive line that struggled for a second consecutive game. Hines will play a prominent role in the backfield even with Jonathan Taylor healthy, but his weekly usage will vary depending on the game plan and game script. However, it may be a minor worry that Marlon Mack got five carries after not playing Week 1.

  • J.J. Taylor RB | HOU

Patriots' J.J. Taylor: Logs five snaps in Week 2

Taylor was on the field for five of a possible 58 snaps on offense in Sunday's 25-6 win over the Jets, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

As expected, in his regular-season debut Taylor worked behind both James White (29 snaps) and Damien Harris (24 snaps), while recording two carries for three yards. As long as both White and Harris remain available, steady volume will be hard to come by for whichever player (be it Taylor or Rhamondre Stevenson) serves as the team's No. 3 RB option.

  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

D'Onta Foreman: Works out for Washington

Foreman worked out for Washington on Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Foreman was released from the Falcons' practice squad in early September, but he'll have a chance to secure a role with Washington. The 2017 third-rounder totaled 22 carries for 95 yards across six appearances with the Titans last year.

  • DeeJay Dallas RB | JAC

Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: No offensive work Sunday

Dallas didn't record an offensive snap in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Titans.

Chris Carson (34), Travis Homer (14) and Alex Collins (six) handled all the backfield snaps. Dallas recorded 30 yards on three kick returns. He doesn't have a clear path to backfield reps barring an injury ahead of him on the depth chart.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: Still clearly behind Fournette

Jones rushed six times for 27 yards and secured one of three targets for nine yards in the Buccaneers' 48-25 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Jones did in fact start the game and took the first carry for the Buccaneers for an eight-yard gain, but Leonard Fournette ultimately outpaced Jones by five rush attempts and three catches, albeit on just one additional target. Jones did average a healthy 4.5 yards per carry overall, and despite his underwhelming usage over the first pair of contests, head coach Bruce Arians is certainly capable of switching gears with his backs in any given game depending on who has the hot hand. Therefore, Jones and his fantasy managers can still hold out hope for a bump in workload in a Week 3 road matchup versus the Rams.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Brings in two passes

Homer recorded two receptions for 14 yards on two targets in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Titans.

Homer finished Sunday's game with 14 carries, ranking second behind Chris Carson (34) but ahead of Alex Collins (six). While Carson is operating as the clear lead back, Homer's ability to pass-block and catch passes make him the ideal fit for the hurry-up offense. That likely won't translate to fantasy relevance as long as Carson is healthy, though.

  • Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Gets eight carries

Hubbard rushed eight times for 10 yards in Sunday's 26-7 win over the Saints.

Hubbard was handed a decent workload despite Christian McCaffrey finishing with 29 touches. However, Hubbard playing a quarter of Carolina's 76 overall offensive snaps came partially as a result of McCaffrey missing a couple drives while dealing with cramps, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports. After hardly getting anything going with his carries Sunday, Hubbard will hope to make a bigger impact if called upon in Thursday's upcoming game versus the Texans.

  • Football Team's Jaret Patterson: Strictly playing special teams

Patterson played 12 snaps on special teams in Thursday's 30-29 win over the Giants.

The undrafted rookie out of Buffalo has four snaps on offense and 20 on special teams through the first two games of his pro career, operating as the No. 3 back in Washington behind Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic. Any hope for a large role this season likely involves an injury to one of those two, but it is possible Washington could give Patterson a few more carries throughout the year if he continues to impress in practice. For the time being, he'll focus on special teams, continuing Week 3 at Buffalo.

  • Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Eight touches in loss

Gainwell rushed six times for 14 yards and caught two of his three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 17-11 loss to the 49ers.

Like most of the Eagles offense, the rookie was largely contained on the day. The good news is he again operated as the clear top backup for Miles Sanders, as Boston Scott didn't even register a snap on offense. Gainwell should have more room to run in Week 3 against a more forgiving Dallas defense.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Struggles on SNF

Edwards-Helaire rushed 13 times for 46 yards while losing a fumble in Sunday's 36-35 loss to the Ravens.

The Chiefs dialed up only 16 designed running plays for their backs (despite leading for the majority of the contest) after running 15 of those same plays in Week 1. It appears that offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy wants to keep the ball in Patrick Mahomes' hands as much as possible this season, which seems like a smart move. It doesn't help that Edwards-Helaire isn't doing much with the limited touches he has been receiving (3.3 yards per carry). If this trend continues, then CEH's ceiling may be lower than many expected for 2021. Up next for the Chiefs is a divisional matchup against the Chargers next Sunday.
