  • Lions' Jamaal Williams: Not activated from COVID-19 list

Williams (illness) wasn't among the Lions activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, meaning he'll be sidelined Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Williams thus will miss a second game in a row after testing positive for the virus back on Dec. 10. With D'Andre Swift (shoulder) also unavailable, Detroit elevated Craig Reynolds from the practice squad to join forces with Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson out of the backfield. If their usage from a Week 13 loss at Denver is any indication, Reynolds and Igwebuike will split most of the reps afforded Lions running backs Sunday. Williams' next chance to play will be Sunday, Dec. 26 in Atlanta.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Jumps to active roster

The Lions elevated Reynolds from the practice squad Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jamaal Williams (illness) wasn't among the Lions activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, meaning he'll be sidelined for a second consecutive contest Sunday against the Cardinals. With D'Andre Swift (shoulder) also ruled out, Reynolds could be in line for a similar workload to the one he handled last Sunday in Denver, when he turned a 45 percent share of snaps into 13 touches for 99 yards from scrimmage. As for the rest of the Detroit backfield, Godwin Igwebuike notched eight carries on a 45 percent share, while Jermar Jefferson didn't receive a touch on five percent of those plays.

  • Chase Edmonds RB | WAS

Cardinals' Chase Edmonds: Back on active roster

The Cardinals activated Edmonds (ankle) from injured reserve Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Arizona designated Edmonds for return prior to a Week 14 matchup with the Rams but ultimately didn't bring him back to the active roster. Now, after the fourth-year pro has a week of on-field reps under his belt, including running routes at Friday's session, he'll rejoin James Conner (ankle) at the top of the backfield pecking order. The Cardinals may not place a heavy burden on Edmonds off the bat, but Conner likely will yield at least a handful of the 20.8 touches per game he handled during the former's four-game absence.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Bears' Khalil Herbert: Returns to full practice

Herbert (illness) returned to full practice participation Friday.

Herbert was unable to practice Thursday due to an illness, but his return to full capacity Friday suggests that he should be ready to suit up Monday against Minnesota. His role is a different question, as he has not topped four rushing attempts in any of his last five games. With David Montgomery (illness) also returning to a full practice Friday, Herbert will likely be limited to an insignificant role once again.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Raiders-Browns moved to Monday

Jacobs and the Raiders will no longer play the Browns on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Assuming the Week 15 game is played Monday as planned, Jacobs and Las Vegas will face a quick turnaround for the Week 16 contest versus the Broncos, which is still expected to be played Sunday, Dec. 26 as scheduled.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: May get two more games as lead back

Wilson is set to lead the 49ers backfield again with Elijah Mitchell (knee/concussion) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wilson was disappointing from a fantasy standpoint last week in his second start of the year, finishing without a target and unable to score his first touchdown of the season in a win over the Bengals. He did, however, lead the team with 13 carries, and his 59 percent snap share wasn't too far south of what Mitchell has seen this year (66.1 percent in nine games). The 49ers still have JaMycal Hasty and Kyle Juszczyk for passing downs and wideout Deebo Samuel as a big-play/red-zone threat on the ground, but Wilson is again a strong favorite to lead the team in carries. Furthermore, head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged Friday that he isn't especially optimistic about Mitchell's chances of returning for a Thursday game against the Titans in Week 16, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

  • Myles Gaskin RB | SEA

Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Not on injury report

Coach Brian Flores was non-committal about playing Gaskin and fellow running back Salvon Ahmed in Sunday's game against the Jets, though neither is listed on the injury report after returning from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Gaskin was on the list for seven days, missing part of Miami's bye and the first two practices this week. He should be able to play Sunday, but it's possible his workload is scaled back, especially if Malcolm Brown (quad) suits up after being designated to return from IR earlier this week. The Dolphins also have Duke Johnson as a backfield option, while Phillip Lindsay (illness) appears likely to miss Sunday's game as he's on the COVID-19 list.

  • Browns' D'Ernest Johnson: Browns-Raiders moved to Monday

Johnson and the Browns will no longer play the Raiders on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Since Kareem Hunt isn't in line to play Week 15 after failing to practice this week due to an ankle injury before being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Johnson has a clear path to the No. 2 role out of the backfield behind starter Nick Chubb.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Browns-Raiders moved to Monday

Chubb and the Browns will no longer play the Raiders on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. With Kareem Hunt having landed on the list and also dealing with an ankle injury, Chubb could take on more passing-down work in addition to his normal duties as Cleveland's lead option on the ground.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Questionable, likely GTD

Pollard (foot) was a limited practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Pollard missed practice all of last week and again this Wednesday before returning for limited sessions Thursday and Friday. He said Friday that he anticipates being a game-time decision ahead of the 1:00 ET kickoff Sunday, with his painful plantar fascia tear feeling better in recent days. If Pollard can't go, Corey Clement will step up as the No. 2 back behind Ezekiel Elliott again.
