  • John Kelly RB | CLE

Browns' John Kelly: Game-day elevation for Week 15

Kelly was elevated from Cleveland's practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement ahead of Monday's game against the Raiders.

Kelly will provide backfield depth for the Browns, but he's unlikely to get into the game on offense unless Nick Chubb and D'Ernest Johnson both get hurt. Even then, the Browns could opt to use return man Demetric Felton at running back over Kelly.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Rewarded with roster spot

The Lions signed Reynolds to the 53-man roster Monday, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.

Perhaps more importantly, the transaction inks Reynolds with Detroit through 2022, a much-deserved development after the Kutztown product amassed 216 total yards in his last two appearances. D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and/or Jamaal Williams (illness) could be back in action for Week 16 against a Falcons defense that's proven susceptible to the run, but Reynolds appears to have played his way into the No. 3 backfield role at the very least.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Texans' Royce Freeman: Reduced role in win

Freeman had three carries for eight yards in Sunday's 30-16 win over the Jaguars.

Freeman was the last back standing in Week 14's loss to the Seahawks, making him an interesting speculative play in Week 15. However, his projected role took a hit when both Rex Burkhead and David Johnson were available and capped Freeman's playing time at nine snaps. He did have Houston's lone carry in the red zone, but Freeman should serve as the No. 3 back, at best, next weekend at home against the Chargers. If Scottie Phillips (ankle) can get healthy, Freeman would drop another peg on the depth chart.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

Bills' Matt Breida: Takes back seat to Singletary

Breida rushed just once for one yard and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Panthers.

Even running maven Josh Allen gave way to Devin Singletary, who saw 22 carries for 86 yards and a score Sunday compared to just five carries for all other Buffalo players. Breida has done well to go from the NFL scrap heap into a No. 2 role for a team with a good chance to make the playoffs, but he's yet to see double-digit carries in any game this season and hasn't eclipsed 51 rushing yards in any contest. The only way he can provide value for desperate managers is if he can sneak his way into the end zone, which he's done three times this season.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: Takes over rushing duties

Jones rushed eight times for 63 yards and caught both of his targets for eight yards in Sunday's 9-0 loss to the Saints.

Leonard Fournette (hamstring) went down on Tampa Bay's first drive of the second half, leaving Jones to handle most of the rushing duties for the remainder of the contest. The severity of the former's injury is unclear at the moment, but we should get some clarity on that front in the coming days. Jones performed well in a pinch, as he was seemingly the only Tampa Bay offensive player that the Saints did not have an answer for (7.9 yards per carry). If Fournette is unable to suit up against the Panthers next Sunday, then Jones figures to take over starting duties with Ke'Shawn Vaughn (3-19-0 on Sunday) taking over the backup role.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Just 31 yards on 13 touches

Kamara was held in check Sunday, recording just 18 yards on 11 carries while catching two of six targets for 13 yards in a 9-0 win over the Buccaneers.

The Saints were missing several key players all over their offensive lineup, so Tampa Bay's defense was keyed in on Kamara in this low-scoring matchup. The star tailback looked to be operating at full capacity in his impressive return from a knee injury last week (145 total yards and a touchdown), so this rough outing can't be attributed to poor health. For what it's worth, fellow back Mark Ingram (nine carries for 10 yards) didn't fare any better against the Bucs' dominant rush defense, and no New Orleans player averaged more than 3.0 yards per carry. Kamara's fantasy managers who are moving on in the fantasy playoffs will hope for a bounce-back game against the Dolphins next Monday.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Broncos' Melvin Gordon: Gets 15 carries

Gordon recorded 15 carries for 53 yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Bengals. He added one reception for eight yards.

Gordon split carries exactly evenly with Javonte Williams, though Williams was the more efficient back. Gordon did manage one rush of 11 yards, but he was still held to only 3.5 yards per carry. Even so, it seems clear that the Broncos are going to continue to split the backfield evenly in terms of rushing attempts. One area in which Gordon is losing work is as a pass catcher, as he has recorded only three receptions across his last four games for a total of 11 yards.

  • Ravens' Latavius Murray: Does well Sunday

Murray rushed seven times for 48 yards and caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Packers.

Murray garnered just three carries in his last two games prior to Sunday, but with Devonta Freeman going for just 22 yards on his six totes versus the Packers, Murray capitalized when called upon. Although both players were still outgained by fill-in quarterback Tyler Huntley, who rushed 13 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns, Murray will hope his good showing Sunday translates into more work in Week 16 versus the Bengals.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Shines in big victory

Wilson tallied 21 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for nine more yards in Sunday's 31-13 win over Atlanta.

Wilson filled in for Elijah Mitchell (knee/concussion) for the second straight week, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the first time this season in the process. The veteran back could have had an even bigger fantasy day, but two of 49ers' three rushing touchdowns went to two other players (Deebo Samuel and Kyle Juszczyk) who combined for just seven carries on the day. Head coach Kyle Shanahan hinted that Wilson may need to start for next Thursday's contest against the Titans, as Mitchell may not have enough time to recover with such a short week of rest. If that scenario plays out, Wilson could become a strong fantasy asset after finally looking healthy since returning from the PUP list midseason. The 26-year-old stated after the game that "I felt like myself. I felt like the old Jeff," according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, so keep an eye on Mitchell's status leading up to Thursday's contest.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Punches in touchdown

Dillon rushed seven times for 22 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Ravens. He also caught his lone target for 13 yards.

Dillon opened the scoring for Green Bay with a two-yard touchdown plunge during the second quarter. While that marked his fourth end-zone trip over his last five games, Dillon otherwise didn't get much going, with his long rush going for just six yards. In contrast, teammate Aaron Jones carried 13 times for 58 yards and caught both his targets for 12 yards and a score. Even though Sunday's yardage wasn't anything special, Dillon's consistent involvement in tandem with Jones, as well as his recent scoring touch in Green Bay's high-powered offense, still makes him a solid option in Week 16 versus Cleveland.
