  • Alex Armah FB | WAS

Commanders' Alex Armah: Lands on IR

The Commanders placed Armah (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Barring an injury settlement, Armah will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2022 season. The 2017 sixth-round pick appeared in 11 games last year -- spilt between New Orleans and Washington -- and mostly operated on special teams.

  • Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Gets work in two-minute drill

Stevenson took snaps in the two-minute drill at Monday's practice, handling work that went to the recently retired James White the past few years, Chris Mason of MassLive reports.

White's hip injury and subsequent retirement have left the Pats without an obvious passing-down back, though journeyman Ty Montgomery -- who has bounced between RB and WR during his career -- might have some appeal in the role. Stevenson, however, would offer more of a rushing threat, and his large frame might also make him a superior blocker once he's more comfortable with pass protection. Coach Bill Belichick has praised Stevenson's improvement in that area, so while Montgomery might be more of a natural catching passes out of the backfield, Stevenson is also a candidate for third-down work. Stevenson, Montgomery and Damien Harris all were held out of New England's preseason opener, and there's also been discussion of Stevenson poaching more of Harris' carries on early downs.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Still not practicing

Sanders (hamstring) is not participating in Tuesday's practice, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.

Sanders has not practiced since Sunday, and he is listed on Tuesday's injury report with a hamstring issue. It's possible that the Eagles are simply giving Sanders a stretch to rest after Friday's preseason loss to the Jets, but given that the 25-year-old is now dealing with a hamstring injury, his status will need to be monitored. Kenneth Gainwell could be the primary beneficiary of increased first-team reps as long as Sanders remains sidelined. The Eagles' second preseason contest occurs Sunday in Cleveland.

  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Steelers' Najee Harris: Full participant in practice Monday

Harris, who had dealt with a foot injury over the last two weeks, was a full participant in Monday's practice, Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Harris was limited in practice over the last several weeks, but Monday's session marked the first time that he had managed every rep since sustaining a foot injury in early August. The team never expressed significant concern about the issue, so it's unlikely that the issue will impact his availability to begin the regular season. However, the Steelers have said over the last few months that they plan to reduce Harris' snap count slightly in 2022 after he led all running backs in snaps, snap share, snaps per game and touches as a rookie last year.

  • Jake Funk RB | JAC

Rams' Jake Funk: Getting additional work

Funk is getting additional reps while Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson are not practicing due to soft-tissue injuries, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Coach Sean McVay said that the Rams are "just being smart" with their top two running backs in limiting their time on the practice field, and Funk has been the recipient of a healthy share of the workload in their absence, including six carries for 16 yards in the Rams 29-21 win over the Chargers on Saturday. Kyren Williams returned from the active/PUP list last week and is also in the mix for valuable reps in practice, and the duo should see plenty of work for the rest of the preseason as they fight for the No. 3 spot on the team's backfield depth chart.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Works in 7-on-7 drills

Robinson (Achilles) took some reps, including running routes, during 7-on-7 drills at Monday's practice, John Shipley of SI.com reports.

Robinson sustained a partial tear of his left Achilles back on Dec. 26, but he made enough progress in his recovery that he avoided the PUP list entirely at the start of training camp. Since then, he's been ramping up his workload slowly but surely, getting occasional reps with the first-team offense, but he wasn't available for either of the Jaguars' first two preseason games. The third-year running back has two more chances to make an appearance during exhibition season (this Saturday against the Steelers and Saturday, Aug. 27 in Atlanta). Ultimately, though, the team likely will exercise the utmost caution until Robinson proves he's 100 percent. In the meantime, Travis Etienne should continue to operate as Jacksonville's top running back.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Rams' Cam Akers: No timetable for return to practice

Coach Sean McVay acknowledged Monday that he doesn't have a timeline for when Akers and Darrell Henderson -- who are both dealing with soft-tissue injuries -- can return to practice, noting, "It could be anywhere between two days, one day, a week," Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Though McVay's estimate for how long the Rams might be without their top two backs isn't specific, it does sound like neither player's issue is viewed as a long term one, with the team simply preferring to play it safe at this stage of the preseason. While Akers and/or Henderson are sidelined, added practice reps will be available for Kyren Williams and Jake Funk.

  • Kyren Williams RB | LAR

Rams' Kyren Williams: Sees added practice reps

With both Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson dealing with soft-tissue injuries, Williams and Jake Funk took the main workload at Monday's practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Williams came off the PUP list last week, and with the Rams' top two backs sidelined for the time being, he'll have a chance to get some valuable practice reps in the coming days and is a candidate to make his preseason debut Friday against the Texans. For now, there's nothing to suggest that Akers or Henderson are in danger of missing regular-season action, but until one or both are back on the field, Williams and Funk will have an opportunity to compete for the No. 3 spot on the team's backfield depth chart ahead of Week 1.

  • Corey Clement RB | ARI

    Corey Clement: Done in Baltimore

The Ravens cut Clement on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

With J.K. Dobbins recently having returned to practice, albeit in a limited capacity, depth at running back is becoming less urgent for Baltimore. Clement, who logged 33 carries for 140 yards with Dallas in 2021, will search for opportunity elsewhere, while Justice Hill and Tyler Badie should now be in line for more practice and preseason reps.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Rams' Cam Akers: Set to miss practice time

Coach Sean McVay relayed that Akers is dealing with a "soft tissue" injury and is slated to miss some practice time, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

The same applies to fellow running back Darrell Henderson, with McVay noting that neither will practice until they can work at "full speed" in team drills. With the team's top two backfield options unavailable for the time being, Kyren Williams and Jake Funk saw added practice reps Monday, per Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, and they figure to do so until Akers and/or Henderson rejoin the mix.
