Rachaad White RB | WAS
Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Eight touches in pro debut
White rushed six times for 14 yards and brought in both targets for seven yards in the Buccaneers' 19-3 win over the Cowboys on Sunday night.
White played a clear complementary role to Leonard Fournette in the rookie's NFL debut, but he was notably the only other running back to log a carry on the night despite veteran Giovani Bernard being active. White got the nod over the back he engaged in a job battle with throughout the summer, Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who was a healthy scratch, but there may be scenarios this season in which both players garner active status. White's next opportunity to showcase his skills comes in a Week 2 divisional clash with the Saints, although he still projects to play second fiddle to Fournette for the foreseeable future.

Jeff Wilson RB | MIA
49ers' Jeff Wilson: Takes over for injured starter
Wilson took over for the injured Elijah Mitchell (knee) in the second half of Sunday's 19-10 loss to the Bears.
Wilson finished the contest with nine carries for 22 yards and caught both targets for eight yards. The severity of Mitchell's injury will be revealed after Monday's MRI, but the breakout star from 2021 was seen in a brace after the game, which is an ominous sign. It is somewhat peculiar that head coach Kyle Shanahan did not give any carries to fellow backup and preseason standout Jordan Mason (zero touches). It was also a curious move by the 49ers' front office to leave third-round pick Tyrion Davis-Price as a healthy scratch in a game with monsoon-like conditions. Whatever the reasons may be, Wilson is the obvious first add if Mitchell is forced to miss extended time. Davis-Price theoretically should have the most fantasy upside should Shanahan decide to remove him from his unexplained doghouse, but it's hard to say what Shanahan will do against the Seahawks next Sunday.

Derrick Henry RB | BAL
Titans' Derrick Henry: Tops 80 yards in Sunday's loss
Henry carried the ball 21 times for 82 yards in Sunday's 21-20 loss to the Giants. He failed to catch his only target.
The game mostly went according to script for Henry, who softened up the defense in the first half before beginning to see some bigger gains later in the afternoon, but his longest run went for only 18 yards and and he didn't get into the end zone. The bruising back may have proved he's all the way back from last year's foot injury, but he'll likely need to be more productive in a Monday night clash with the explosive Bills in Week 2.

Demetric Felton RB | WAS
Browns' Demetric Felton: Returns five punts, muffs one
Felton returned five punts for 29 yards and muffed one of them in Sunday's 26-24 win over Carolina in Week 1.
As expected, Felton contributed mostly on special teams but did have one target and played 11 snaps on offense. It had been reported that he would handle both punts and kickoffs, but the Browns used rookie Jerome Ford on kickoffs. It's unclear if the muff will prompt a change on punt returns, but that notion was floated by Zac Jackson of The Athletic. In an unexpected move, the Browns made D'Ernest Johnson inactive, but neither Felton nor Ford benefitted from that in the way of carries.

Saquon Barkley RB | PHI
Giants' Saquon Barkley: Leads team to win over Titans
Barkley carried the ball 18 times for 164 yards and a touchdown while catching six of seven targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 21-20 win over the Titans. He added a two-point conversion.
The 25-year-old appeared to be back in the elite form he flashed as a rookie, posting his best single-game rushing total since Week 16 of 2019. Barkley also came up big when it counted, busting out a 33-yard run late in the fourth quarter with the Giants down 20-13 that helped set up his two-yard TD plunge, and when new head coach Brian Daboll decided to go for two rather than settle for overtime, it was the team's star RB who got the ball and refused to go down before getting across the goal line. If Barkley is truly back in top form, he could be poised for another huge performance in Week 2 against a Panthers defense that just got gashed for 213 scrimmage yards and two TDs by the combination of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
-
Craig Reynolds RB | NE
Lions' Craig Reynolds: No offensive snaps
Reynolds did not log any offensive snaps during Sunday's 38-35 loss to the Eagles.
Reynolds is clearly the third option at running back behind D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams. Barring injuries, he doesn't figure to see much, if any, playing time most weeks.
-
Brandon Bolden RB | LV
Raiders' Brandon Bolden: Exits with hamstring injury
Bolden suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
Bolden was relatively effective to begin Sunday's season opener, rushing three times for seven yards while securing both of his targets for 21 yards and a touchdown. However, he was shaken up on a punt return in the third quarter and had to be helped off the field. He was ruled out shortly after, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for next Sunday's Week 2 matchup against Arizona.
-
James Conner RB | ARI
Cardinals' James Conner: Gets into end zone in loss
Conner carried the ball 10 times for 26 yards and a touchdown and caught five of six targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 44-21 loss to Kansas City.
While the yardage wasn't impressive, Conner showed his nose for the end zone with a two-yard plunge early in the second quarter to get the Cardinals on the board. The 27-year-old scored 18 TDs in 15 games in his first season for Arizona in 2021, and as long as Conner can stay mostly healthy he stands a good chance of reaching double digits once again.
-
Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ
Bears' Khalil Herbert: Scores in opener
Herbert rushed nine times for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 19-10 win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Herbert also lost two yards on his only reception. The good news is that unlike last year, when he never had more than five carries in a game in which David Montgomery was healthy, he had more than half of Montgomery's carry total in Week 1. If Herbert maintains that level of usage, he'll be in consideration as a top-40 running back each week.
-
Isiah Pacheco RB | DET
Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Leading rusher in win
Pacheco carried the ball 12 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-21 win over the Cardinals.
Most of his production came in the second half after Kansas City has already built a big lead, but it was still an impressive NFL debut for the 2022 seventh-round pick. All three members of the team's backfield saw significant action, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire turning 10 touches into 74 scrimmage yards and two receiving TDs while Jerick McKinnon added 49 scrimmage yards on seven touches, so Pacheco's big showing doesn't catapult him to the top of the depth chart. With Kansas City flashing a more diverse scheme without having Tyreek Hill to lean on, however, there could be enough work for multiple backs to be fantasy assets in any given week.
