Justice Hill RB | BAL
Ravens' Justice Hill: Limited usage in opener
Hill had two carries for four yards and reeled in both of his targets for seven yards Sunday against the Jets.
Baltimore didn't have J.K. Dobbins available Sunday, so it turned to a committee against the Jets, using three running backs. Kenyan Drake saw the bulk of the carries with 11 of the 15 by RBs while Hill and Mike Davis saw two rushes apiece. It's not an encouraging sign for Hill that he so quickly was surpassed on the depth chart by the recently acquired Drake. It's also noteworthy that Baltimore ran the ball only 21 times compared to 30 pass attempts. The Ravens host the Dolphins in Week 2.

Damien Williams RB | ARI
Falcons' Damien Williams: Picks up minor issue
Williams is dealing with a rib soreness injury suffered in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Saints, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Williams confirmed that he did not break any of his ribs during the Falcons' Week 1 loss and that he only has some slight soreness Monday. The 30-year-old managed just two rushes for two yards over 10 offensive snaps played, as he was sidelined for much of Sunday's season opener. Assuming this injury does not ultimately prove more significant, Williams should see increased opportunities while serving as the team's No. 2 back behind Cordarrelle Patterson in Week 2 against the Rams.

Jeff Wilson RB | MIA
49ers' Jeff Wilson: Set for expanded role
With Elijah Mitchell in line to miss about eight weeks with an MCL sprain, Wilson is slated to fill in as the 49ers' lead back, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
While Wilson steps into an expanded role during Mitchell's looming absence, Barrows notes that Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price will compete in practice for the team's No. 2 RB role. Though it remains to be seen how heavy of a workload Wilson sees in the coming weeks, with QB Trey Lance and the versatile Deebo Samuel also factors in the 49ers' ground game, he's nonetheless worth a speculative add by fantasy managers looking to add running back lineup options ahead of Week 2 action.

Kenneth Walker III RB | KC
Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: NFL debut delayed
Walker (hernia) is listed as inactive Monday against the Broncos.
A 2022 second-round pick, Walker unsurprisingly won't suit up in the Seahawks' season opener due to the hernia procedure he underwent in mid-August that didn't allow him to practice during Week 1 prep. With Walker on the sideline, the team will ride Rashaad Penny as the top backfield option, while Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas are on hand for any remaining RB reps.

Elijah Mitchell RB | PHI
49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Set to miss about eight weeks
Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday that Mitchell will miss about eight weeks with an MCL sprain that he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Bears, Matt Barrows of The Athletic
Per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, Mitchell won't need surgery, but an IR stint is looming for the running back. In Mitchell's absence, Jeff Wilson is next up for the 49ers' backfield touches, with Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price candidates to see added work at running back. The versatile Deebo Samuel also remains in the mix to continue to log rushing attempts.

Najee Harris RB | LAC
Steelers' Najee Harris: Trending toward playing in Week 2
Tests on Harris' foot injury came back negative Monday, with Adam Schefter of ESPN indicating via a source that the running back "should be good to go" this coming Sunday against the Patriots.
While Harris' status still is worth monitoring closely, it looks like he avoided a concerning aggravation of the Lisfranc sprain that he dealt with in training camp. Though he may be limited somewhat in practice this week, it now appears as though Harris, whose top backup is Jaylen Warren, is trending toward being available this weekend against New England.
-
Myles Gaskin RB | SEA
Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: Buried behind Edmonds and Mostert
Gaskin did not log an offensive snap during Sunday's 20-7 win over the Patriots.
Gaskin was active Week 1, but his involvement versus New England was limited to five snaps on special teams even with Salvon Ahmed (heel) sidelined. With the Dolphins' rushing engine operating efficiently through Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert, Gaskin's only fantasy value at the moment is as an insurance policy.
-
Benny Snell RB | DET
Steelers' Benny Snell: Operates as clear No. 3 back
Snell didn't record any touches during Sunday's 23-20 overtime win over the Bengals.
Snell was listed as the No. 3 running back on the Steelers' Week 1 depth chart, and his usage against Cincinnati was consistent with that layout. Although Najee Harris sustained a foot injury late in Sunday's matchup, Jaylen Warren was the running back who replaced him down the stretch, while Snell played exclusively on special teams during the season opener. Harris' injury isn't believed to be a serious concern, but his Week 2 status isn't yet clear. Even if Harris is limited or held out Sunday against the Patriots, Warren likely would see most of the work in the backfield, while Snell presumably would be forced to settle for a reserve role.

Alvin Kamara RB | NO
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Dealing with rib issue
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Monday that Kamara picked up a rib issue during Sunday's win over Atlanta, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
While dealing with the issue, Kamara still rushed nine times for 39 yards and hauled in three of four targets for seven yards during Sunday's win. It wasn't the superstar running back's prototypical production, but he didn't appear too limited either. Allen said Monday, "I think he's going to be fine." Either way, it's certainly something worth monitoring ahead of Week 2.

Elijah Mitchell RB | PHI
49ers' Elijah Mitchell: May miss two months with MCL sprain
Mitchell is expected to be sidelined for about two months after suffering a sprained MCL in Sunday's season opener against the Bears, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
We'll await official confirmation from the 49ers, but based on that estimate, Mitchell is a candidate to go on IR, which would ensure that he misses at least four games. In that scenario, Jeff Wilson, Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price would be next up for added touches in the team's backfield, with the versatile Deebo Samuel also in the mix to log rushing attempts.
