J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN
Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Trending toward playing Week 2
Dobbins (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday, putting him on track to play in Sunday's game against Miami, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Dobbins was a limited participant all of last week, and while some reports called him a game-time decision, he never seemed especially likely to play before he sat out the Ravens' season-opening win over the Jets. His status could come down to a more legitimate game-time call again this week, or at least the Ravens may want to create that appearance. If so, a 1 p.m. ET kickoff makes things easier on fantasy managers who may be deciding whether to deploy Dobbins in their Week 2 lineups.

Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI
Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Still sidelined with heel injury
Ahmed (heel) didn't practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ahmed popped up on the injury report Wednesday and was limited at practice throughout the week before ultimately being inactive for the season opener. Given his practice designation, he doesn't appear to be trending in the right direction, so it's likely he'll be sidelined for a second straight game. Regardless, as long as Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert and Myles Gaskin are healthy, Ahmed doesn't have a clear path to playing time, so his potential absence shouldn't be too concerning.

Alvin Kamara RB | NO
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Limited to start week
Kamara (rib) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Any kind of participation is a good sign for Kamara's availability Week 2 against Tampa Bay. He played 62 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps in the season-opening win over the Falcons but was held to 46 scoreless yards on 12 touches in a game where the Saints' wide receivers led the charge. Any limitations in Week 2 could benefit Mark Ingram, though he also was a limited participant Wednesday due to an ankle injury.

D'Andre Swift RB | CHI
Lions' D'Andre Swift: Dealing with ankle injury
Swift missed Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury.
During the media-access portion of the Lions' first session of Week 1, Swift wasn't participating, but the reason for his absence wasn't known at the time. He hasn't dealt with ankle issues during his two-plus years in the NFL, but he's missed seven games due to various health concerns to date. There's no telling if Swift's availability for Sunday's game against the Commanders is in jeopardy, but his status bears watching as the week goes on. Jamaal Williams would be the biggest beneficiary if Swift is limited or out this weekend.

Najee Harris RB | LAC
Steelers' Najee Harris: Logs limited practice
Harris (foot) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com, the Steelers held a light practice Wednesday with no pads, so a better read on Harris' Week 2 status might not come until after Thursday's session. For his part, the running back is downplaying the foot injury he suffered this past Sunday against the Bengals, noting after practice that "it's good." That said, head coach Mike Tomlin indicated that he wants to see more from his starting running back as the week progresses before his status for this weekend's game against the Patriots is determined. Jaylen Warren is the next man up in the backfield if Harris happens to be out or limited Sunday.

Pierre Strong Jr. RB | GB
Patriots' Pierre Strong: Could see added opportunities
Strong is a candidate to contribute as a pass catcher out of the Patriots' backfield in the coming weeks after Ty Montgomery (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Montgomery had emerged as the team's top change-of-pace option coming out of the preseason, but now that he's out for at least the next four games, Strong -- who was inactive Week 1-- has a chance to contribute as soon as Week 2 against the Steelers. It's also possible that the Patriots elevate J.J. Taylor from the practice squad, and Rhamondre Stevenson could also see more work in passing situations than he did in the Week 1 loss to the Dolphins. Strong at least has some sleeper potential in deeper leagues if he ends up seeing steady snaps while Montgomery is out.

Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR
Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Set to handle kick-return duties
Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said Wednesday that Hubbard will take over as the team's primary kickoff returner while Andre Roberts (knee) is on injured reserve, Schuyler Callihan of SI.com reports.
Roberts was diagnosed with a PCL sprain and will be forced to miss at least four games after landing on IR, leaving Hubbard and Shi Smith to take on expanded roles in the return game. Hubbard returned one kick for 21 yards as a rookie in 2021.

D'Andre Swift RB | CHI
Lions' D'Andre Swift: Not practicing
Swift isn't practicing Wednesday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
The running back may have picked up an injury at some point in Sunday's 38-35 loss to the Eagles, though he piled up 175 yards and a touchdown and was still getting touches late in the fourth quarter. Any limitations for Swift would benefit backfield mate Jamaal Williams, who scored a pair of goal-line touchdowns in the Lions' season opener.

Mike Boone RB | MIA
Broncos' Mike Boone: Catches one pass in loss
Boone caught his only target for two yards in Monday's 17-16 loss to the Seahawks.
Boone failed to record a single rush in the contest operating as Denver's third-string running back. As expected, the 27-year-old took a back seat to both Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon as a rusher, and both backs saw more work in the passing game. Williams led the Broncos in targets with 12, and Gordon was targeted twice. Boone's limited usage on offense is likely to continue as long as both Williams and Gordon remain healthy. Nonetheless, the veteran will look to build upon his performance when the Broncos host the Texans in Week 2.
