  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Back at practice

Taylor (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports.

Taylor was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice, but his presence on the field Thursday bodes well for the running back's chances of returning to action Sunday against the Jaguars. The Colts' upcoming injury report will clarify Taylor's official level of participation.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Headed for limited practice

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Barkley (shoulder) will be a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Tom Rock of Newsday reports.

Even though Barkley's reps will be capped for the second day in a row due to the right shoulder injury he picked up the Giants' Week 5 win over the Packers, Daboll said he has no concern about the running back's ability to take on a full workload this weekend against the Ravens. If Barkley is able to upgrade to full participation at Friday's practice and doesn't carry a designation into Sunday, he would seemingly support Daboll's optimism.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Back at practice

Mostert (knee) returned to practice Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Mostert sat out Wednesday's session, but his return to practice a day later is a positive indicator regarding his availability for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Thursday's upcoming injury report will clarify the running back's official participation level.

  • Jake Funk RB | JAC

Jake Funk: Headed to New Orleans

Funk signed with the Saints' practice squad Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Funk was waived by the Rams on Tuesday after playing just one offensive snap in the team's crowded running backs corps this season. However, the 2021 seventh-round pick could get a chance to record his first carry of the season as a potential game-day elevation for the Saints, as No. 1 running back Alvin Kamara has been in and out of the lineup with a rib injury this season. Funk also played 74 special-teams snaps over five games in 2022, which could also help his cause for a promotion to the active roster.

  • Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Back in full Wednesday

Ahmed (back) was listed as a full participant on the Dolphins' injury report Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Ahmed was ruled inactive for Miami's Week 5 loss to the Jets after being limited with a back injury in practice Thursday and Friday. However, the 23-year-old running back appears to be healthy given his ability to return in full for the first practice of Week 6. Ahmed has been exclusively used on special teams over two games played this season, though he could see his first offensive snaps if running back Raheem Mostert (knee) is sidelined for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Dealing with shoulder injury

Mattison was a limited participant in practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.

Mattison played a season-high 43 percent of snaps on offense in a Week 5 win over Chicago, though his 12 touches netted only 41 yards. Meanwhile, Dalvin Cook took 20 touches for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mattison has seen a bit more work than in past seasons ever since Cook dislocated his problematic shoulder, but the starter hasn't missed a game yet, and it's now the backup who is bothered by a shoulder injury. In any case, Mattison's practice participation Wednesday -- even in a limited capacity -- suggests he's more likely than not to play this Sunday in Miami.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Misses practice Wednesday

Mostert didn't practice Wednesday due to a knee injury, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Mostert was missing from practice after logging 46 of a possible 67 snaps on offense in this past Sunday's 40-17 loss to the Jets while carrying 18 times for 113 yards and a touchdown and catching one of his three targets for nine yards. What the running back is able to do at Thursday's practice should add a degree of clarity with regard to his chances of playing this weekend against the Vikings. If Mostert is limited at all or not available Week 6, Myles Gaskin and Chase Edmonds would be in line for added snaps and touches.

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Cardinals' James Conner: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Conner (rib) was unable to take part in Wednesday's walk-through session, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Conner made an early departure from the Cardinals' Week 5 loss to the Eagles, the second time in five games in which he was forced out of a contest prematurely. This time around, head coach Kliff Kingsbury has called Conner "day-to-day," according to Darren Urban of the team's official site, but it hasn't translated to any on-field work yet. Conner's status thus bears monitoring as the weekend draws closer to get a sense of his potential to play Sunday at Seattle. Meanwhile, with Darrel Williams (knee) unlikely to suit up this weekend and with Jonathan Ward (hamstring) on injured reserve, Eno Benjamin and rookie Keaontay Ingram are the only healthy running backs on the active roster. Corey Clement and Ty'Son Williams also are candidates to be elevated from the practice squad if Conner is limited or out this weekend.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Ready to roll

Scott (ribs) isn't listed on the Week 6 injury report ahead of a matchup with the Cowboys on Sunday.

While Scott was out the past two weeks, Miles Sanders played 67 and 74 percent of snaps on offense, up from between 52 and 59 percent over the first three weeks. In fact, Sanders' snap share has grown slightly larger with each passing week this season, though the trend could change Sunday if both Scott and Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) are available.

  • Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Dealing with rib injury

Gainwell was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a rib injury.

Gainwell's ability to practice at all at the start of the week suggests he's on track to play Sunday against the Cowboys. The Eagles are also expected to have Boston Scott (rib) back in the lineup, though it's unclear if/how that affects Gainwell, given that most of Scott's usual workload simply went to starter Miles Sanders the past two weeks.
