Bailey Zappe QB | NYJ
Browns' Bailey Zappe: Added to roster
Cleveland signed Zappe on Tuesday.
Zappe will provide the Browns with a third option at quarterback heading into Sunday's game against the Ravens in the wake of Deshaun Watson suffering a season-ending torn Achilles' tendon. Jameis Winston is slated to start Sunday, but if Dorian Thompson-Robinson can't play through the finger issue he sustained in Week 7, Zappe would step in as Winston's top backup.

Carson Wentz QB | MIN
Chiefs' Carson Wentz: Makes team debut
Wentz played one of the Chiefs' 70 snaps on offense in Sunday's 28-18 win over the 49ers.
Signed to a one-year, $3.33 million contract in April, Wentz emerged from the preseason as the winner of the competition for the backup role behind starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Wentz got the chance to make his Chiefs debut in the second quarter, when head coach Andy Reid dialed up a unique two-quarterback formation near the goal line featuring both Mahomes and Wentz. Wentz took the snap and handed the ball off to Kareem Hunt, who was stopped at the one-yard line.

Anthony Brown QB | BUF
Anthony Brown: Joining Cardinals' practice squad
Arizona signed Brown to its practice squad Wednesday, Kevin Zimmerman of Arizona Sports reports.
Brown was cut loose by Buffalo ahead of Week 1, but he's now found another chance to make an impression with a new team. As long as Kyler Murray is available, though, Brown probably won't be a candidate to see any game action.

Jayden Daniels QB | WAS
Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Not practicing Wednesday
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Daniels (ribs) will not participate in practice, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
Daniels will miss Wednesday's practice as a result of the rib injury that forced him out of Washington's blowout win over the Panthers in Week 7 during the first quarter. Quinn called the rookie No. 2 overall pick week-to-week shortly after the Week 7 win, but he also expressed some optimism that Daniels would be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Bears. If Daniels isn't able to notably upgrade his participation level during practice Thursday and/or Friday, however, Marcus Mariota will be in line to start Week 8.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson QB | PHI
Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Practicing, but won't start Sunday
Thompson-Robinson (finger) is in line to practice Wednesday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski noted Wednesday that the Browns plan to see how Thompson-Robinson progresses from his finger injury -- specifically in terms of his throwing -- before a determination on the quarterback's availability for Sunday's game against the Ravens. In any case, Jameis Winston has been confirmed as the team's starter for Week 8, with Bailey Zappe an option to back Winston up if Thompson-Robinson isn't available.

Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Browns' Jameis Winston: Confirmed Week 8 starter
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Wednesday that Winston will start Sunday's game against the Ravens, Kelsey Russo of the team's official site reports.
With Deshaun Watson (Achilles) out for the season and Dorian Thompson-Robinson dealing with a finger injury, Winston is the next signal-caller up for the Browns. Winston took the field for the final drive of this past Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Bengals, despite being inactive heading into the contest as the emergency third quarterback. The Browns have yet to reveal whether Thompson-Robinson -- who is in line to practice in some capacity Wednesday -- will be available as a backup this weekend, but if not, newcomer Bailey Zappe would assume the role. Winston thus represents a fantasy option for those looking to replace Watson or who are otherwise seeking quarterback depth ahead of Week 8. Following last week's trade of Amari Cooper's trade to the Bills, Winston's top pass-catching options are currently tight end David Njoku and wideouts Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman and Elijah Moore.

Josh Johnson QB | CIN
Ravens' Josh Johnson: Enters for final possession
Johnson played three of the Ravens' 59 snaps on offense in Monday's 41-31 win over the Buccaneers.
Johnson entered the game after the two-minute warning for the Ravens' final possession of the night, handing the ball off to Justice Hill three times before Baltimore punted. The 38-year-old's snaps will continue to be limited to late-game garbage-time scenarios while reigning MVP Lamar Jackson is healthy.

Clayton Tune QB | GB
Cardinals' Clayton Tune: Carries three times in win
Tune played three of the Cardinals' 57 snaps on offense in Monday's 17-15 win over the Chargers and carried three times for two yards.
Even though starting quarterback Kyler Murray didn't suffer an injury at any point in Monday's contest, Tune was summoned from the bench for his second appearance of the season. All three of his snaps came in 3rd-and-1 or 4th-and-1 situations, as the Cardinals likely thought that the sturdier built Tune (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) would have a better chance at pushing through a pile of bodies for a first down than the smaller Murray (5-foot-10, 207 pounds). Tune was able to extend a drive in the second quarter with a two-yard run on third down, but he was held to no gain on back-to-back carries on 3th-and-1 and 4th-and-1 in the third quarter to cede possession to the Chargers.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Tending to trio of injuries
Rodgers will be a limited participant in practice Wednesday due to hamstring, knee and ankle injuries, but his availability for Sunday's game against the Patriots isn't expected to be affected, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich that Rodgers' hamstring "flared up" during last Sunday's 37-15 loss to the Steelers, noting that the injury may have hampered to veteran quarterback's ability to scramble on some plays. New York is hosting a walk-through practice Wednesday, so Rodgers' practice activity Thursday and Friday will be more telling as to his health for Week 8. Rodgers and the 2-5 Jets are staring down a must-win divisional matchup against 1-6 Patriots on the road Sunday.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson QB | PHI
Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Won't start Week 8
Thompson-Robinson (finger) won't start Sunday's game against the Ravens, as Jameis Winston is instead on track to step in under center in place of the injured Deshaun Watson (Achilles) in Week 8, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
After slotting third on the depth chart behind Watson and Winston to begin the season, Thompson-Robinson was active as the No. 2 quarterback for this past Sunday's loss to the Bengals, while Winston was inactive as the emergency No. 3 option. Thrust into action when Watson suffered a season-ending ruptured Achilles' tendon late in the second quarter, Thompson-Robinson went on to complete 11 of 24 passes for 82 yards and two interceptions while rushing three times for 44 yards before leaving in the fourth quarter with a tendon injury to the middle finger on his throwing hand. Winston took the field for the Browns' final drive and now will draw the start Week 8, but Thompson-Robinson could be a candidate to supplant him once he makes a full recovery from the injury. Since the finger issue won't require surgery and isn't considered a major concern, Thompson-Robinson still may be available in a backup capacity Sunday. The Browns signed Bailey Zappe on Tuesday, giving the team another option to back up Winston if Thompson-Robinson isn't healthy enough to do so.
