Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Throws for 193 yards Saturday
Wilson completed 13 of 21 passes for 193 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions in Saturday's 24-14 preseason loss to the Chargers.
Wilson played the entire first half against a Chargers defense that ranked third in passing yards allowed last season. Although the four-time Pro Bowler's stat line wasn't anything special, fantasy owners shouldn't worry. Wilson didn't have his top two wideouts available, as Doug Baldwin (knee) and Tyler Lockett (foot) both sat out. Wilson has now converted 17 of 26 throws for 236 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions through two preseason games.

Alex McGough QB | GB
Seahawks' Alex McGough: Makes noise in second preseason game
McGough completed nine of 12 passes for 97 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's 24-14 preseason loss to the Chargers.
Selected in the seventh round of April's draft, McGough is battling Austin Davis to serve as Russell Wilson's backup. Davis converted on just one of three tries for six yards Saturday. The difference in attempts and all-around performance gives McGough a slight edge in the battle so far, but expect the competition to continue through the final preseason outing.

Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Browns' Tyrod Taylor: Sees limited action Friday
Taylor completed four of seven pass attempts for 22 yards and ran once for five times in Friday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Bills.
Meanwhile, No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield completed seven of 13 attempts for 75 yards. As intriguing as the notion of Mayfield overtaking Taylor in short order might be, coach Hue Jackson maintains that the Browns are committed to Taylor as their starter out of the gate this season. With that in mind, Taylor is in line to work with an interesting collection of pass-catchers, featuring wideouts Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon (now that he's back with the team), as well as promising tight end David Njoku and pass-catching back Duke Johnson. Assuming Taylor clicks with the above-mentioned players, he brings a degree of fantasy utility to the table, factoring in the points he can rack up with his wheels, as well as his strong tendency for avoiding turnovers.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Piles up yards early
Garoppolo completed 10 of 12 passes for 136 yards with a touchdown and an interception during Saturday's preseason game in Houston.
Garoppolo's two drives covered 21 snaps and 119 yards, with penalties and a poor running game forcing the quarterback to make some tough conversions on third and fourth downs. His interception bounced off the hands of Dante Pettis, who appeared to operate as the No. 4 receiver behind Marquise Goodwin, Pierre Garcon and Trent Taylor. That trio accounted for six catches, 85 yards and a touchdown on Garoppolo's two drives, making up for the absence of George Kittle (shoulder), Jerick McKinnon (calf) and Matt Breida (shoulder), all of whom will be held out for the rest of the preseason. The Niners do expect Kittle, McKinnon and Breida to be ready for Week 1 in Minnesota.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Bengals' Andy Dalton: Quiet in limited showing versus Cowboys
Dalton completed five of seven pass attempts for 41 yards during Saturday's 21-13 preseason win over the Cowboys. He also gained 13 yards on his lone carry.
Dalton played the first three series of the night, and while he only recorded two incompletions, he hardly generated anything downfield. He flashed his scrambling ability while picking up a first down at one point, but that was actually the team's second-longest gain during his time on the field. Dalton could benefit from his second season guiding offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's scheme, but the club will need to improve on a poor second-half showing from last year. Dalton should play a larger role next week against the Bills.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Texans' Deshaun Watson: Sharp with boost in playing time
Watson completed five of eight passes for 73 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Texans' 16-13 preseason win over the 49ers on Saturday.
Although head coach Bill O'Brien had stated that Watson's workload would be similar to that of the preseason opener, the second-year quarterback ended up logging more snaps due to the success of the one drive he led. Watson spearheaded a crisp 11-play, 79-yard scoring march that answered the 49ers' similarly successful opening possession. He was impressive while connecting with Bruce Ellington for 44 yards over three completions, including the one-yard touchdown that capped off the series. Watson also found starting tight end Ryan Griffin for a 22-yard strike that put the ball in the red zone, making it a highly successful encore to last week's cameo appearance. Watson appears to have eliminated any lingering doubts about his regular-season readiness over the first pair of exhibitions, although he figures to further corroborate his health in next Saturday's "dress rehearsal" showdown against the Rams.
-
Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Vikings' Kirk Cousins: Struggles in Saturday's preseason game
Cousins was just 3-of-8 for 12 yards passing in Saturday's preseason loss to Jacksonville while playing four series on offense.
Cousins didn't look as sharp as in his first preseason game, but the Jaguars have a top defense, his offensive line was missing several starters and Latavius Murray lost a fumble. We wouldn't read too much into his performance as has time to work out the kinks before the regular season.
-
Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Resting Saturday
Carr will not play in Saturday's preseason tilt against the Rams in order to rest, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
The Raiders are scheduled to open the season against the Rams, so it perplexed coach Jon Gruden when they also showed up on their preseason schedule. As a result, he has opted to rest Carr and several other starters in an execution of gamesmanship. The quarterback will likely see some action in the team's third exhibition game next week versus the Packers.
-
Sam Bradford QB | MIN
Cardinals' Sam Bradford: Leads another TD drive
Bradford completed each of his six pass attempts for 61 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Saints.
After leading a run-heavy touchdown drive on his only series in the preseason opener, Bradford got a bit more playing time Friday, producing seven points on three drives. Josh Rosen also got some work with the first-team offense, completing 10 of 16 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, all in the second quarter. There may not be any competition for the Week 1 starting job, but the calls for Rosen will heat up if the Cardinals don't stay in the playoff hunt. There's also the issue of Bradford's left knee, which Vikings coach Mike Zimmer once referred to as "degenerative".
-
Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: Comes back to earth
Mayfield completed seven of 13 passes for 75 yards and took four carries for nine yards in Friday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Bills.
Neither Mayfield nor Tyrod Taylor was able to match last week's performance, with the latter getting the start and completing just four of seven passes for 22 yards. The Browns did get 144 rushing yards and two touchdowns from the trio of Carlos Hyde, Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson, so it wasn't exactly a setback for the offense as a whole. Mayfield wasn't too far from a two-score performance, with one short touchdown pass wiped out by a penalty and another overturned on review. The overall impression has been strongly positive through two preseason games, but coach Hue Jackson has been adamant about his intention to start Taylor in Week 1. If nothing else, Mayfield's strong preseason will make it easier for Jackson to pull the plug if he gets frustrated with Taylor during the regular season.
