Walker was cut by the Colts on Saturday, ESPN 1070 am Indianapolis reports.

The Colts will go with just Andrew Luck and Jacoby Brissett on the roster, which is a little risky considering Luck missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. Walker will likely be signed to the practice squad.

Barkley (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Barkley was in line for the backup role in Cincinnati prior to his injury in the team's preseason finale. Barring an injury settlement, he'll spend the remainder of the season on IR since he's not a candidate to be designated for return.

Heneghan was cut by the 49ers on Friday, the team's official site reports.

Heneghan participated in a local tryout prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, but he never really had a shot at making the 53-man roster with Jimmy Garoppolo and C.J. Beathard secure at the top.

Falk was waived by Tennessee on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

If Falk clears waivers, there's a chance he'll latch onto the Titans' practice squad. The 23-year-old possesses his fair share of upside after being a standout at Washington State.

Heinicke won the backup quarterback battle with Garrett Gilbert, Bill Voth of the Panthers' official site reports.

Helping Heinicke's cause was a relationship with offensive coordinator Norv Turner in Minnesota. Heinicke's preseason performance also was solid -- 24-for-36 passing for 323 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to go with one rushing TD -- and he'll be waiting in the wings in the event Cam Newton misses a game for the fourth time in his career.

Lynch survived roster cuts as the Broncos' No. 3 quarterback, ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold reports.

Lynch still has a spot on the team but will be stuck behind Case Keenum and Chad Kelly on the depth chart. It won't come as a big surprise if the Broncos eventually release the 2016 first-round pick out of Memphis.

The Bills traded AJ McCarron -- who had been competing with Peterman and rookie Josh Allen for the starting job -- to the Raiders on Saturday.

Peterman and Allen had seemingly pulled ahead of McCarron in recent weeks, but this makes it official that one of them will start Week 1 against the Ravens. The Bills have yet to make that announcement, though we'd give the slight edge to Peterman based on his superior preseason play and the fact he already has one NFL season in the books.

McGloin has a spot on the Chiefs' initial 53-man roster, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

The Chiefs will keep three QBs on their initial roster, with McGloin joining starter Patrick Mahomes and presumed backup Chad Henne. The team may still end up cutting McGloin before Week 1 to add help at another position.

Driskel is left as the Bengals' backup quarterback after Matt Barkley (knee) was placed on injured reserve, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Given that he completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 7.7 yards per attempt during the preseason, Driskel might have won the job even if Barkley hadn't injured his knee. It still isn't a situation that would inspire any confidence in the event of an Andy Dalton injury.

Coach Todd Bowles hasn't officially named a starter, but ESPN.com's Rich Cimini has no doubt Darnold will get the nod Week 1 in Detroit.

With Teddy Bridgewater traded to New Orleans on Wednesday and Josh McCown starting Thursday's preseason finale against Philadelphia, the Jets haven't exactly made an effort to hide their intention of starting Darnold. The team still hasn't actually come out and said it, but Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News and Brian Costello of the NY Post agree with Cimini that all signs point to Darnold getting the Week 1 start.
