• Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Eclipses 200 scrimmage yards in win

  Gibbs rushed 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns while bringing in five of six targets for 56 yards in the Lions' 45-21 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Gibbs, and the Lions' offense as a whole, had a somewhat quiet start to the game, but the star running back soon began breaking through against the Cardinals defense and ultimately turned in another dominant performance. Gibbs recorded his first touchdown from one yard out early in the second quarter and went on to add a three-yard scoring rush with just over five minutes remaining to seal the high-scoring victory. Gibbs' finished with his second-highest rushing yardage total of the season, and the multi-touchdown tally on the ground was already his third of the campaign. The 2023 first-round pick is up to 504 rushing yards, 243 receiving yards and nine total touchdowns heading into a Week 7 divisional home matchup against the Packers on Sunday, Oct. 25 following a Week 6 bye.

• Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Surprisingly stymied by Panthers

  Gibbs rushed 15 times for 46 yards and a touchdown and brought in four of seven targets for 31 yards in the Lions' 32-26 loss to the Panthers on Sunday night. Gibbs' season-low rushing yardage total was particularly surprising considering no team had allowed more rushing yards to running backs than Carolina coming into Week 4. Gibbs also wasn't able to make up for the lack of rushing production with his work as a pass catcher, but he at least added his fifth rushing touchdown of the season on a one-yard run late in the first half. Gibbs and the Lions will look to bounce back in a Week 5 road matchup against the Cardinals next Sunday.

• Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Makes three more trips to end zone Sunday

  Gibbs carried the ball 20 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns while catching seven of eight targets for 65 yards and a third TD in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Jets. That's now six trips to the end zone in three games to begin the season for Gibbs, who ran it in from 17 yards and one yard before hauling in a game-winning 11-yard toss from Jared Goff inside the final two minutes of the fourth quarter. Gibbs has added 463 scrimmage yards to his ledger as well, more than earning his spot at the top of preseason draft boards. He'll look to keep rolling in a Week 4 road clash against the Panthers.

  Gibbs rushed 16 times for 52 yards and brought in six of eight targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' 41-31 loss to the Bills on Thursday. Gibbs managed a 16-yard run among his 16 carries, yet he generally found running room at a premium over the course of the high-scoring loss. Game script also limited the star running back's opportunities on the ground somewhat, but Gibbs did make up for it to an extent with his work as a receiver. The fourth-year pro tied for second in receptions and also was the runner-up in receiving yards for the Lions on the night, and he added his first receiving touchdown of the season when he brought in an 11-yard laser from Jared Goff with just over five minutes remaining in the first half. Gibbs should have a chance at reverting to a larger workload on the ground in a Week 3 home matchup against the Jets on Sunday, Sept. 27.

• Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Sits out preseason opener

  Gibbs was held out of Thursday's preseason opener against the Bengals. The star running back was among a number of key skill players rested by the Lions on Thursday, a group that also included QB Jared Goff, WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, as well as TE Sam LaPorta. Since he signed a lucrative three-year contract extension with the team last week, Gibbs -- who had previously reportedly been dealing with a minor back issue -- has been practicing, and is thus slated to reprise his role as the clear-cut top option in Detroit's backfield, and in turn maintain his standing as an elite fantasy option ahead of the 2026 regular season.
