Burries ended Wednesday's 128-116 loss to the Wizards with 12 points (3-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT) and five rebounds over 16 minutes. The rookie guard made a strong impression in his regular-season debut, knocking down both three-point attempts and finishing as Milwaukee's fourth-leading scorer despite limited playing time. Burries faces considerable competition for backcourt minutes, but his efficient performance offers an encouraging starting point as he looks to establish a consistent role.

Burries recorded 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 26 minutes during Friday's 128-127 preseason win over Indiana. Fresh off a 19-point performance against the Bulls, Burries turned in another encouraging performance, despite continuing to struggle from the perimeter. He has now gone 1-of-11 from the three-point line over his past two games, which could simply be a sign of nerves. With that said, he has been more than adequate on the defensive end, tallying six steals in that same span. While he isn't a must-roster player in standard leagues, he is certainly someone to monitor closely, especially if Milwaukee struggles out of the gate.

Burries supplied 19 points (5-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT), five rebounds, five assists and four steals over 29 minutes in Wednesday's 125-104 preseason loss to Chicago. Burries saw a sizable workload in a starting role and made his presence felt in multiple facets. The rookie struggled from beyond the arc but made up for it with a strong showing at the free-throw line en route to 19 points while also recording a game-high four steals. Tyler Herro (rest) is the clear starter at shooting guard, but Burries figures to see plenty of action during the 2026-27 campaign, even if it's off the bench.

Burries (coach's decision) is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's preseason game against Chicago. Burries was unavailable Sunday but will move into the starting lineup Wednesday with several Milwaukee regulars resting. The guard figures to open the regular season in a reserve role but should compete for significant playing time after being selected No. 10 overall in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Burries will not play in Sunday's preseason game against the Hornets due to a coach's decision, Justin Garcia of the Milwaukee Bucks Radio Network reports. Burries played well in Milwaukee's preseason game Wednesday, logging 16 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist in 21 minutes, but he will sit out of Sunday's matchup with the Hornets. His next opportunity to play comes Wednesday against the Bulls.
