Green (rest) has been ruled out for Tuesday's preseason game against the Lakers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. The veteran big man will be held out of Tuesday's contest, with his last chance to suit up in the preseason coming Friday against Portland. Charles Bassey will get the starting nod in Green's absence.

Green (rest) will start in Saturday's exhibition against the Kings, Danny Emerman of SFStandard.com reports. Green did not play in Wednesday's exhibition for maintenance reasons, but he's back and starting Saturday. Charles Bassey will return to the second unit with Green active.

Green will be limited to around 20 minutes in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Lakers and won't travel to Portland for Wednesday's back-to-back against the Trail Blazers, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports. The Warriors are being cautious with Green's workload in the preseason, so he'll be limited to around 20 minutes Tuesday and won't suit up Wednesday. This is part of a long-term picture, as the idea is to have Green as healthy as possible for the start of the regular season against the Lakers on Oct. 21.

Green will play in Sunday's preseason game against the Clippers, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports. Head coach Steve Kerr stated Green, Stephen Curry and Al Horford would all be available for the preseason opener. However, all three will only play in the first half and be on the floor "around 12-16 minutes." Green most recently averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists over 27.5 minutes in 68 regular-season games in 2025-26. While his production has remained the same for the most part in the last few seasons, his numbers could improve, considering Jimmy Butler (knee) will miss the start of the 2026-27 campaign. In addition, it's unknown if Kristaps Porzingis (undisclosed) will be ready to go for opening night.

Head coach Steve Kerr wants Green to shoot more open three-pointers this season, per Danny Emerman of SFStandard.com. Green already took a career-high 4.6 three-point attempts per game last regular season, and it sounds like there's room for growth in that area. The veteran forward is worthy of a late-round pick in most fantasy leagues this fall, but he'll likely need the playmaking threats of Jimmy Butler (knee) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) to be in the lineup in order to maximize his efficiency.
