Top Nuggets News

  • Nuggets' Zeke Nnaji: Scoreless in three minutes

Nnaji ended with no counting stats across three minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Playing in his sixth NBA season, Nnaji was once again used very sparingly by the Nuggets. He made just 52 regular-season appearances, posting averages of 3.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 12.0 minutes per contest.

  • Nuggets' Jonas Valanciunas: Sees four minutes

Valanciunas posted two points (1-3 FG) and two rebounds over four minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to Minnesota in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Valanciunas was essentially a non-factor in this playoff series with 6.3 minutes per night across four contests. He played a minimal role in the regular season as well, averaging 13.4 minutes per night across 65 contests with 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

  • Nuggets' Tyus Jones: Sees 12 minutes off bench

Jones closed with four points (2-4 FG), three assists and one steal in 12 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to Minnesota in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Jones logged just three postseason appearances for the Nuggets for an average of 10.0 minutes per contest. Denver picked up Jones after he was waived by Dallas, but he was used sparingly with 11 regular-season appearances and 8.4 minutes per contest.

  • Nuggets' Bruce Brown: Struggles in 14 minutes

Brown totaled one point (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals across 14 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Even though the Nuggets were shorthanded, Brown wasn't able to make a big playoff impact in 19.3 minutes per game. During the regular season, Brown appeared in all 82 games with averages of 7.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.4 minutes per contest. Brown is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Nuggets' Tim Hardaway: Scores 13 off bench

Hardaway registered 13 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 21 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to Minnesota in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Hardaway's first season in Denver was a major success. He was a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year, appearing in 80 regular-season games. He played 26.6 minutes per contest with averages of 13.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.8 three-pointers while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Nuggets' Spencer Jones: Sees 35 minutes in loss

Jones registered eight points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one block in 35 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Nuggets struggled with injuries this season at forward, but Jones emerged from his two-way contract and earned a standard deal in the process. He ended up with 64 regular-season appearances, posting averages of 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 22.1 minutes per contest.

  • Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Held in check in Game 6

Murray posted 12 points (4-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one block across 40 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Murray will be disappointed with his performance in the playoffs, as Minnesota limited him to a 35.7 percent mark from the field and 26.2 percent from beyond the arc. He found plenty of success in the regular season, however. Across 75 appearances, he averaged 25.4 points, 7.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 3.3 three-pointers.

  • Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Flirts with triple-double Thursday

Jokic ended Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 28 points (11-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, 10 assists and one block across 43 minutes.

Jokic fell one rebound short of another triple-double, closing out what was another dominant season, both in fantasy and reality. He finished with averages of 27.5 points, 12.9 rebounds, 10.6 assists, 1.7 three-pointers and 2.2 combined steals and blocks across the regular season and playoffs, sitting atop the fantasy ranks yet again. While the individual accolades are seemingly endless, Denver's unceremonious exit can't be overlooked. Jokic will undoubtedly be in the discussion for the No. 1 fantasy pick again next season, although the exact makeup of his supporting cast remains to be seen.

  • Nuggets' Cameron Johnson: Drops season-high 27 points in loss

Johnson notched 27 points (8-15 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 6-9 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block over 39 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Johnson did everything he could to get Denver over the line, scoring a season-high 27 points, including five triples. While it ultimately wasn't enough, it does remind fantasy managers just what he can do on the basketball court. Strong performance aside, Johnson's season as a whole was serviceable, at best. In 60 appearances (including playoffs), he averaged 12.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 three-pointers in 30.6 minutes per contest.

  • Nuggets' Christian Braun: Struggles in season-ending loss

Braun posted three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), one rebound and three blocks in 28 minutes during Thursday's 110-98 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Braun scored in single digits for the fourth straight game, closing out what was an underwhelming end to a disappointing season. Despite having homecourt advantage, Denver simply couldn't match Minnesota's intensity. Injuries limited Braun to just 50 appearances across the season (including playoffs), during which he averaged 11.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 three-pointers.

  • Nuggets' Aaron Gordon: Out for Game 6

Gordon (calf) is out for Thursday's Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs against the Timberwolves, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports.

Gordon attempted to warm up ahead of Thursday's clash, but he's not feeling healthy enough to give it a go. Spencer Jones stepped into the starting lineup in Gordon's place in Game 5 and should be considered the favorite to start again in Game 6.
