  • Jalen Beeks RP | TEX

Rangers' Jalen Beeks: Earns win in relief

Beeks (2-1) earned the win in relief Saturday against the Cubs after tossing 1.1 scoreless innings. He struck out one with no hits or walks allowed.

Jack Leiter tossed 4.2 scoreless innings but finished just one out short of securing the win, and Beeks was credited with it after finishing the fifth frame and pitching the sixth. Beeks, who improved to 2-1 with a 2.65 ERA, was sharp, needing just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to record four outs. This was a bounce-back effort for Beeks, as he allowed two runs in one-third of an inning against the Yankees in his previous outing last Thursday.

  • Eli White CF | ATL

Braves' Eli White: Logs steal Saturday

White went 1-for-2 with a run scored in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Dodgers.

White continues to be Atlanta's fourth outfielder, most often drawing into the lineup as a platoon partner for Mike Yastrzemski in right field. The steal was White's first this season after he notched 10 steals on 11 attempts over 105 games in the 2025 regular season. The outfielder is batting .232 with a .647 OPS, two home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored across 61 plate appearances in 2026.

  • Willi Castro LF | COL

Rockies' Willi Castro: Smacks second homer

Castro went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Phillies.

Castro got the Rockies on the board with his solo shot in the second inning, his second homer of the season. That also extended his hitting streak to six games, during which he's gone 8-for-24 with two RBI and five runs scored. Castro has played nearly every day across the last two weeks, splitting his playing time evenly between second and third base, though he drew a start at shortstop Saturday.

  • Cam Schlittler SP | NYY

Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Overcomes early injury scare in QS

Schlittler tossed six scoreless innings in a no-decision against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing two hits and striking out six batters without issuing any walks.

Schlittler was hit in the back of his leg by a line drive in the first inning and was visited by a trainer. He remained in the game and promptly struck out the following batter to prove that he was fine. Schlittler proceeded to give up only one hit following the first frame and finished with his fourth scoreless outing of five-plus innings across his first nine starts. Schlittler has been especially dominant of late, giving up a meager two earned runs across 31.2 frames over his past five appearances. It's still early in the campaign, but Schlittler is looking like a viable AL Cy Young Award candidate. He leads qualified MLB pitchers with a 1.35 ERA, ranks second with a 0.81 WHIP and has the fifth-most strikeouts (59) while carrying a 5-1 record through 53.1 innings.

  • Jack Leiter P | TEX

Rangers' Jack Leiter: Comes up short of win

Leiter tossed 4.2 scoreless innings but didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Cubs. He allowed three hits and five walks while fanning six.

Leiter had some command issues Saturday, as the five walks were a season-worst mark for him, but he was able to keep Chicago off the board despite allowing eight baserunners. The free passes prevented him from pitching deep enough to qualify for the win, which would have been his first victory since his season debut. This solid outing reduced his ERA to 4.85 and WHIP to 1.41. Leiter is expected to make his next start on the road against the Astros.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Rare steal in win

Olson went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Dodgers.

Olson had gone hitless in consecutive contests for the first time this season entering Saturday. He snapped that drought with a two-hit game and also picked up his first steal of the campaign as a bonus. The first baseman has been one of the most consistent hitters in baseball so far in 2026, batting .297 with a 1.025 OPS, 13 home runs, 35 RBI, 35 runs scored and 15 doubles. Don't expect much speed out of him -- he hasn't stolen more than one base in a season since he swiped four bags in 2021.

  • Edward Cabrera SP | CHC

Cubs' Edward Cabrera: Takes loss Saturday

Cabrera (3-1) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Rangers after allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out six.

This was Cabrera's worst outing of the season, and he's clearly trending in the wrong direction after suffering his first defeat of 2026. The right-hander began the season with 11.2 scoreless frames in his first two starts, but he's allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last six appearances. Cabrera, who gave up multiple homers Saturday for the third time in his last four starts, now has a 3.88 ERA across 46.1 innings this year. He lines up to make his next start against the crosstown White Sox.

  • Braves' Spencer Strider: Dominant in win over Dodgers

Strider (1-0) allowed one hit and two walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Strider struggled in his season debut in Colorado last Sunday, but he rebounded in his second start Saturday, shutting down a potent lineup. Strider has posted a 14:7 K:BB over 9.1 innings across his first two starts of the year, so it'll be important to see if he can dial in his control after missing the first month-plus of the campaign due to an oblique strain. The right-hander's next start is projected to be a favorable one at home versus the Red Sox.

  • Paul Sewald RP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Paul Sewald: Clean inning for save

Sewald struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Mets.

This was Sewald's first save since April 17 versus the Blue Jays. Over his last six appearances, he's given up three runs across 5.1 innings with a 6:4 K:BB. The lack of recent saves is simply because the Diamondbacks are producing too few opportunities -- Saturday's victory was just their second win through eight games in May. Sewald is at a 3.29 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB across 13.2 innings this season. He's converted all eight of his save chances this year despite some hiccups in non-save situations and remains Arizona's No. 1 option to close out games.

  • Merrill Kelly SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Rebounds for second win

Kelly (2-3) allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win over the Mets on Saturday.

Kelly had been knocked around in his previous three outings, giving up a total of 19 runs across 13.2 innings. He bounced back in a big way Saturday, delivering his best start of the year in a game where he had little margin for error. Performances like this one haven't been the norm in 2026 for the veteran right-hander, who is at a 7.62 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and 20:18 K:BB across 26 innings. Kelly's next start is lined up to be a daunting road assignment in Colorado.
