  • Kyle Teel C | CHW

White Sox's Kyle Teel: Out with ankle sprain

The White Sox placed Teel on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left ankle sprain.

The 24-year-old departed Monday's game against the Rangers due to the injury and was sporting crutches after the contest, so it's hardly a surprise that he's ended up on the IL. It's unclear how long Teel is expected to be sidelined, but he'll be eligible to be reinstated July 31. Edgar Quero was called up from Triple-A Charlotte and should split catching duties with Drew Romo while Teel is out.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Recovering from sore wrist

Mariners manager Dan Wilson said after Monday's 8-0 win over the Reds that Crawford was scratched from the lineup due to a sore left wrist, LookoutLanding.com reports.

Colt Emerson was a late addition to the lineup as a replacement for Crawford, whom the Mariners are viewing as day-to-day while he manages the wrist issue. Since coming off the injured list June 16 after missing time with a bruised right hand, Crawford has served as a near-everyday player while moving between third base and shortstop but has slashed just .190/.302/.240 over 28 games. Crawford could be in danger of fading into more of a utility role once Brendan Donovan (groin) completes his rehab assignment and returns from the 10-day IL.

  • Ty Harvey C | SD

Padres' Ty Harvey: Embarks on rehab assignment

Single-A Lake Elsinore sent Harvey (finger) on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on July 16.

Per J.J. Cooper of Baseball America, Harvey missed a month early this year with a hamstring injury and made it back May 12, only to break a finger on his left hand 10 days later when he was hit by a backswing while catching. In 24 games this season including rehab assignments, the 19-year-old catcher is hitting .338/.432/.486 with one home run, five steals and a 25 percent strikeout rate.

  • Red Sox's Sadbiel Delzine: Bumped to Single-A

Delzine was promoted from the Florida Complex League to Single-A Salem on Tuesday.

The FCL season hasn't wrapped up yet, but the Red Sox felt it was time to challenge their top teenage pitching prospect with his first assignment to full-season ball. Delzine, a 6-foot-5 Venezuelan righty, logged a 2.72 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB in 39.2 innings in rookie ball. The dynasty buzz will grow quite loud if he translates that success against Single-A hitters.

  • Brody Brecht SP | COL

Rockies' Brody Brecht: Shelved at High-A

High-A Spokane placed Brecht on the 7-day injured list May 23 with a right shoulder injury, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.

Pontes reports Brecht is due back as early as late July, although he hasn't begun a rehab assignment yet. Brecht has big stuff, but his fantasy appeal is limited due to the fact he's a Rockies pitching prospect. The 23-year-old righty logged a 5.23 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB in 20.2 innings prior to the injury.

  • Patrick Forbes SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Patrick Forbes: Elbow barking again

Forbes has not pitched for High-A Hillsboro since June 27 due to elbow discomfort, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

As of July 5, the organization said it was hopeful Forbes would return in July, but given he missed the first eight weeks of the season with a right elbow flexor injury and also had a flexor strain last year, there is plenty of cause for concern. Prior to this latest arm injury, Forbes dominated the competition to the tune of a 2.45 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 20:2 K:BB in 14.2 innings, primarily at High-A. His fastball sits in the mid-90s and his dastardly 83-mph slider gives him a second plus pitch. He should be considered out indefinitely and is at high risk of needing elbow surgery sooner than later.

  • Zack Kelly RP | BOS

Red Sox's Zack Kelly: Called up, placed on 60-day IL

The Red Sox recalled Kelly (elbow) from Triple-A Worcester and placed him on the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The right-hander landed on the 7-day IL at Worcester in early July due to elbow inflammation, and he'll now be sidelined until at least early September. The severity of the injury isn't clear, but it's possible that Kelly has already thrown his last competitive pitch of the season.

  • Eduardo Rivera SP | BOS

Red Sox's Eduardo Rivera: Making another start Tuesday

Rivera will start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Ranger Suarez (groin) was scheduled to come off the injured list to start Tuesday, but the Red Sox will instead turn to Rivera. The rookie left-hander has made three appearances for Boston this year and has given up three earned runs with a 9:4 K:BB over 9.1 innings.

  • Tony Blanco 1B | PIT

Pirates' Tony Blanco: Begins rehab assignment

Blanco (hamstring) began a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on July 17.

Per Mark Chiarelli of Baseball America, Blanco suffered a hamstring injury June 20. He also missed the first half of 2025 with a hamstring injury. Nagging muscle injuries aside, Blanco has arguably the most raw power in the minors and slashed .237/.319/.500 with 12 home runs, a 10 percent walk rate and a 29 percent strikeout rate in 49 games at High-A Greensboro.

  • Juan Cabada 2B | CHC

    Cubs' Juan Cabada: Nursing injury

Cabada hasn't played in the Arizona Complex League since May 23 due to a lower-body injury, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.

A 5-foot-9 infielder who turned 18 in April, Cabada slashed .283/.387/.434 with two home runs and two steals in 14 games before suffering the injury.
