The Twins optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Though he's been one of six Twins pitchers to record a save this season and leads the club with six holds, Funderburk will wind up losing his spot in the bullpen as his control continued to slip. He has a 2.81 ERA in 16 innings but a more unsightly 1.38 WHIP and 10:13 K:BB on the season. The Twins recalled left-hander Kendry Rojas from Triple-A to bolster the bullpen.

Harper (migraine) will start at first base and bat third in Sunday's game against the Rockies, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harper developed a migraine early in Saturday's 9-3 win, prompting the Phillies to pull him from the contest before he made a plate appearance. The 33-year-old appears to have recovered overnight and has been given the green light to play in the series finale.

Hedges went 0-for-2 with a walk in Saturday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Twins.

Hedges started for the third time in the last four games, but he is expected to shift back to being the top backup after the Guardians acquired Patrick Bailey from the Giants on Saturday. Bo Naylor, who had been the primary catcher, was optioned to Triple-A Columbus in conjunction with the trade. Hedges, who had out-hit Naylor to start the season, will not be given the opportunity to stay atop the depth chart, although he may continue to be the personal catcher for Parker Messick.

Valenzuela is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Valenzuela will get a break for the matinee after he started behind the plate in the first two contests of the series. Tyler Heineman will fill in for Valenzuela at catcher and bat ninth.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

It's the second straight game on the bench for Narvaez, who has just one hit (a double) and three walks over his past 16 at-bats. The 27-year-old recently appeared to have taken a firmer hold of Boston's No. 1 catching job by starting five of seven games, but he's now started just two of the past six contests. Mickey Gasper is receiving his second straight nod Sunday, while Connor Wong has also picked up two starts during that six-game stretch.

Norby is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Norby will rest Sunday following a stretch of five consecutive starts in which he went 3-for-14 with one double, three walks, two stolen bases, four runs and one RBI. Though he's seen all but one of his 35 starts at either first base or designated hitter, Norby could end up receiving more run at third base after Miami demoted Graham Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday.

Bradford (elbow) began throwing from 60 feet during the Rangers' most recent homestand, MLB.com reports

Bradford made one rehab start early in April but was shut down soon after. Now that he's throwing again, the Rangers are estimating he could return by late June.

Baumler (intercostal) has been shut down from his rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Baumler made three appearances while on his rehab assignment but experienced a setback and hasn't pitched since April 28. It's unclear when the right-hander will restart a throwing program.

Tena is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Tena started five of the previous six games, but he'll hit the bench Sunday while CJ Abrams gets a day off from playing shortstop as the designated hitter. While Washington may continue to hold him out against left-handed pitching, Tena should start versus right-handers more often than not, as he's maintained a .288/.338/.485 slash line (130 wRC+) over 71 plate appearances in that split this season.

Ruiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

After a recent stretch in which he started behind the plate five times in six games, Ruiz will cede catching duties to Drew Millas for the second day in a row. Ruiz delivered his best game of the season earlier in the week when he produced a pair of doubles and a home run in Thursday's win over the Twins, but he's still sitting on a lowly .608 OPS in 2026.
