Basallo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

After an 0-for-4, four-strikeout performance in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Pirates dropped his season average to .148, Basallo will get Monday off to clear his head. Adley Rutschman will draw the start at catcher and Ryan Mountcastle will serve as the Orioles' designated hitter in the series opener in Chicago.

Beavers is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

After making four consecutive starts, Beavers will head to the bench as the Orioles open their three-game series in Chicago. Tyler O'Neill will step in for Beavers in right field and will bat fifth.

The Angels recalled Farris from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Ryan Johnson (illness). Farris posted a 6.66 ERA in five starts for the Angels in 2025 and struggled in his first outing this season at Salt Lake, but he will offer the bullpen some length.

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

The left-handed hitter finds himself on the bench for a third straight game, this time against a southpaw (Justin Wrobleski) after his prior two absences came versus right-handed pitchers. The Blue Jays have leaned on a three-man committee in left field, with Sanchez and Davis Schneider leading the group with four starts apiece and Nathan Lukes making two starts.

The Angels placed Johnson on the 15-day injured list Monday with a viral infection.

Johnson had to be scratched from a scheduled start Sunday against the Mariners and has not made enough strides in his recovery to avoid a stint on the IL. He'll be eligible to return later this month and should be physically ready then, though it's not a given that Johnson will be re-inserted into the big-league rotation at that point. George Klassen should remain in the Angels' rotation while Johnson is shelved.

Schanuel is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt versus Atlanta, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ace left-hander Chris Sale is on the bump for Atlanta, so the lefty-swinging Schanuel will get a breather. Switch hitter Jeimer Candelario is filling in at first base and will bat cleanup for the Angels.

Trout (hand) is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against Atlanta, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Trout had to leave Sunday's game versus the Mariners after being hit on the left hand by a pitch. X-rays came back negative, but Trout will get a day of rest as he deals with some residual soreness. Bryce Teodosio will grab a start in center field for the Halos.

Vivas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Vivas will hit the bench Monday, but he had picked up starts in each of the last three games. He recorded a base hit in each of those contests and also drew two walks, bringing his on-base percentage up to .476 on the season. While he's holding his own at the plate, Vivas could continue to get a look as a near-everyday player at third or second base.

Ruiz is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Ruiz and Drew Millas have split time behind the dish evenly through the Nationals' first five games, with both catchers drawing five starts apiece. Though Ruiz has been the better producer thus far, he's still holding down a modest .222/.211/.444 slash line through his first 19 plate appearances. He may need to raise his performance before taking on a larger share of the catching duties.

Smith is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

Smith will hit the bench for a second straight game, with Dalton Rushing working behind home plate and batting eighth. The decision to hold Smith out is a deliberate one, with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noting Monday that he wants Smith to be the catcher for Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Smith has gone 8-for-29 (.276 average) with two home runs and five RBI to open the season.
