The Nationals claimed Waldron off waivers from the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Waldron has put up a 7.54 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 37 innings in the majors this season between San Diego and Toronto, but the Nationals will pick him up anyway to add a multi-inning arm to their bullpen. Connelly Early (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL to create room for Waldron on the 40-man roster.

The Dodgers placed Pages on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hand fracture.

Pages suffered a hand fracture after getting hit by a pitch during Friday's game against Pittsburgh, and manager Dave Roberts said after the game that the outfielder is expected to miss roughly 4-to-5 weeks while he recovers. The Dodgers believe Pages will be able to play again this year, but whether he does so in the regular season remains to be determined. In the meantime, Alek Thomas will come up from Triple-A to replenish Los Angeles' outfield depth and figures to contend with Tommy Edman and Alex Call for reps in center field.

The Cardinals placed Dobbins on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right forearm tightness.

Dobbins' forearm forced him to make an early exit from his start Friday against Philadelphia, and although he hasn't been diagnosed with any sort of structural issue, the Cardinals will give him time to recover on the injured list. Quinn Mathews was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move to start Saturday's game.

The Cardinals recalled Mathews from Triple-A Memphis on Saturday ahead of his start against the Phillies.

Mathews will return to the majors to help fill the holes in a St. Louis rotation that has lost both Andre Pallante (elbow) and Hunter Dobbins (forearm) to the injured list within the past couple of days. Mathews owns a 3.27 ERA at Triple-A this season and has given up just three runs across nine innings during his two starts in the big leagues.

Collins isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Collins has tallied a hit in each of his last two games, but the Royals will keep him on the bench to begin Saturday's contest. Tyler Tolbert will fill in as Kansas City's left fielder and bat eighth.

Weathers was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays with left forearm discomfort, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Weathers gave up two earned runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings during Saturday's contest before tweaking his forearm while throwing a pitch in the fourth. The severity of the southpaw's injury is unknown, but the Yankees should provide more information in the near future.

The Mariners selected Anderson's contract from Double-A Arkansas ahead of his start Saturday against the Cubs.

After turning in a 1.06 ERA and 0.64 WHIP while striking out 135 batters in 93.1 innings at Double-A, Anderson will skip past Triple-A and make his MLB debut Saturday. The 22-year-old lefty is viewed by many as the top pitching prospect in the sport and is likely to remain in the Mariners' rotation through the end of the season, assuming he doesn't struggle mightily during his first few major-league outings. Jhonathan Diaz was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Manager Craig Stammen said that Pivetta (forearm) threw two innings in a bridge league game Thursday at the Padres' spring training complex in Arizona, 97.3 The Fan San Diego reports.

Stammen noted that Pivetta "felt great" during the outing and will throw a bullpen session before the Padres decide when the right-hander will make his next appearance in a game, either at the complex in Arizona or as part of a minor-league rehab assignment. Pivetta -- who has been on the shelf since April 14 due to a right forearm strain -- kicked off a rehab assignment at Single-A Lake Elsinore on Aug. 4 but tossed just 14 pitches before experiencing renewed tightness in his elbow. Though Pivetta is pitching in games again, he'll still need some time to build back up and is no longer looking likely to make it back from the 60-day injured list until September.

Padres manager Craig Stammen said that Musgrove (elbow) will throw a bullpen session this weekend before likely making a final minor-league rehab start during the upcoming week, 97.3 The Fan San Diego reports.

Musgrove most recently made his third rehab start Aug. 14 with Triple-A El Paso, striking out five while allowing five earned runs on nine hits and one walk. Though Musgrove built up to 70 pitches in that outing and looked like he might have been ready to return from the 60-day injured list at some point this week to make his 2026 Padres debut, Stammen revealed that the right-hander "had a little back issue pop up" during a recent workout. Fortunately for Musgrove, the back issue isn't viewed as a major concern, and he hasn't incurred any setbacks with his surgically repaired elbow since beginning his rehab assignment Aug. 4. Assuming his back responds well to the bullpen session, Musgrove should be in line for a sizable workload in his upcoming minor-league appearance before joining the San Diego rotation immediately thereafter for what would be his first big-league outing since Sept. 26, 2024.

Vivas isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.

Vivas will take a day off to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-12 at the plate across his last four games. Jose Tena will start at the keystone while Vivas sits, and Brady House will get the nod at third base.
