  • Diamondbacks' Ryan Waldschmidt: Key contributions to win

Waldschmidt started in left field and went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Mets.

Waldschmidt drove in Arizona's first three runs with a two-run double the second inning and a run-scoring single in the sixth. He made a second consecutive start, filling in for a resting Lourdes Gurriel, after the rookie defended center field Saturday. With Alek Thomas having been designated for assignment, center field will likely belong to Waldschmidt at least until Jordan Lawlar (wrist) returns and possibly beyond.

  • Yoendrys Gomez RP | MIN

Twins' Yoendrys Gomez: Logs first save with Minnesota

Gomez earned the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Guardians by recording all three outs in a scoreless ninth.

Gomez was tasked with protecting the Twins' one-run lead in the ninth and answered the call by tossing nine strikes on 10 pitches for his second save of the season and third of his major-league career. The Twins are still figuring out who their go-to closer will be, and seven players have logged at least one save this season. Justin Topa leads the way with two saves, though he's given up nine earned runs over his last 2.1 innings.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Season-high three hits Sunday

Clemens went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored during the Twins' 5-4 win over the Guardians on Sunday.

Clemens logged the first run of Sunday's game after scoring on a wild pitch in the third frame, and he crossed home plate a second time on an RBI single from Brooks Lee in the fifth. Clemens' three hits were a season high and his fourth multi-hit game of the season. He is slashing .209/.321/.374 with five steals, three home runs, nine RBI and 13 runs scored across 108 plate appearances this season.

  • Kendry Rojas SP | MIN

Twins' Kendry Rojas: Earns win in bulk-relief role

Rojas (1-0) was credited with the win during Sunday's game against the Guardians. He allowed one run on five hits and three walks while striking out five across 3.1 innings.

Rojas entered Sunday's game in the second inning after Andrew Morris logged a scoreless first frame on just six pitches. Rojas was able to hold his own, tossing 34 strikes on 60 pitches while recording 11 first-pitch strikes, and it was enough for him to come away with the first major-league victory of his career. He was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul prior to Sunday's contest, but it's possible that Rojas sticks around with the big club in a bulk-relief role given the injuries to the Twins' rotation.

  • Twins' Andrew Morris: Short work in spot start

Morris tossed six pitches in a scoreless first inning during the Twins' 5-4 win over the Guardians on Sunday.

It was a bullpen day for the Twins on Sunday, with Morris serving as the opener despite tossing 11 pitches in two-thirds of a frame during Saturday's 2-1 extra-innings win. He needed just six pitches to get through the first frame Sunday and was replaced by Kendry Rojas for the second inning. Morris sports a 4.67 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB across 17.1 innings this season.

  • Spencer Miles SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Spencer Miles: Tosses three scoreless frames

Miles opened Sunday's game against the Angels, allowing two hits while striking out two batters across three scoreless innings. He did not issue a walk.

Sunday was the first major-league start of Miles' career, as he served as the Blue Jays' opener in the series finale. He ended up tossing 28 strikes on 38 pitches (73.7 percent) and limited the Angels to just two baserunners, though Eric Lauer -- who served in the bulk-relief role -- ended up taking the loss after yielding six runs over the final five frames. Given Lauer's struggles this season and the myriad of injuries to the Blue Jays' rotation, it's possible that Miles will see some more spot starts moving forward.

  • Kazuma Okamoto 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Kazuma Okamoto: Extends hit streak to nine games

Okamoto went 1-for-4 with an RBI double during the Blue Jays' 6-1 loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Okamoto was responsible for the Blue Jays' lone run Sunday, with his double in the first inning bringing Daulton Varsho home. Okamoto has recorded at least one hit in nine consecutive games and has driven in at least one run in nine of his last 12 outings. In that 12-game span, he has gone 14-for-46 (.304) with five home runs, 15 RBI and eight runs scored.

  • Jared Jones SP | PIT

Pirates' Jared Jones: Set for third start with Double-A

Jones (elbow) will make a third start with Double-A Altoona on Tuesday, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Jones will continue his minor-league rehab assignment, looking to build off the six innings of one-run ball that he's produced while striking out seven batters over his first two outings with Altoona. The 24-year-old is eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list May 25, and it's possible that Tuesday will be his final start with the Double-A squad before taking his rehab to the Triple-A level.

  • Eric Lauer SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Eric Lauer: Struggles in bulk-relief role

Lauer (1-5) took the loss against the Angels on Sunday. He allowed six runs on five htis and two walks while striking out four across five innings.

Spencer Miles served as Toronto's opener for Sunday's series finale, and he ended up tossing three scoreless innings before Tommy Nance came in to toss a clean, eight-pitch fourth. Lauer entered the game in the fifth with the Blue Jays up 1-0, but the 30-year-old southpaw struggled out of the gate and allowed four runs in the frame, including a two-run homer to the second batter he faced, Oswald Peraza. Lauer proceeded to yield solo long balls to Jo Adell in both the sixth and ninth, and the former now sits at a 6.69 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 26:16 K:BB across 36.1 innings this season. Lauer's next turn in the rotation is tentatively slated for next weekend on the road against the Tigers, though it's possible that Blue Jays manager John Schneider upgrades Miles to a starter role given the team's injuries in the rotation.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA

Angels' Oswald Peraza: Breaks out of HR drought Sunday

Peraza went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during the Angels' 6-1 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Peraza put the Angels on the board in the fifth inning with two-run long ball off Eric Lauer. It was Peraza's fifth home run of the year (tying his mark across 264 plate appearances in 2025) and his first long ball since April 16 against the Yankees. He is slashing .282/.339/.476 with five steals, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored across 113 plate appearances this season while serving as the Halos' utility man.
