McDonald is slated to start Monday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

After being optioned to Triple-A Sacramento last Tuesday, McDonald was recalled just four days later after the Giants lost ace Logan Webb (knee) to the injured list. As expected, McDonald will end up moving into Webb's spot in the rotation Monday in what will be his second big-league start of the season. McDonald dazzled in his 2026 MLB debut with eight strikeouts over seven innings of one-run ball in a win over the Padres, but he's been far less stellar over a larger sample of five starts at Triple-A (5.40 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 12:15 K:BB in 15 innings). He'll tentatively line up for two starts this week, with his second turn set to come over the weekend against the Athletics at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park.

Kim (finger) will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.

Kim has completed his rehab assignment as he works his way back from surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right middle finger. The 30-year-old slashed .286/.412/.321 with no home runs, one stolen base and a 6:4 BB:K over nine rehab contests between Double-A Columbus and Triple-A Gwinnett. Kim will take over as Atlanta's primary shortstop.

The Cardinals promoted Rodriguez from High-A Peoria to Double-A Springfield on Monday, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.

Rodriguez is only 19 but needs a new challenge after slashing .311/.430/.519 with four home runs and a 19:24 BB:K over 28 games with Peoria. The top prospect has continued to primarily play catcher this season (16 starts), but he's also been worked in at first base (six starts) and designated hitter (six starts). A permanent move off catcher could speed up Rodriguez's timeline for reaching the big leagues, though there's no indication at this point that the Cardinals are considering such a decision.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that he expects Betts (oblique) to be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Giants, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Betts landed on the IL on April 5 due to a right oblique strain, which kept him out of game action for more than a month before he played 11 innings over two rehab contests with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday and Friday. With Betts checking out fine following the rehab assignment, he's on track to rejoin the Dodgers lineup for Monday's series opener, though Roberts said he's undecided whether the eight-time All-Star will hit second or third in the order, according to Dan Greenspan of the Associated Press. Betts should immediately settle back into an everyday role at shortstop, and his return will also force the Dodgers to make a tough roster decision. Alex Freeland and Hyeseong Kim have been serving as the Dodgers' primary starters in the middle infield during Betts' absence, but one of the two would appear at risk of being sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move since the team's other two reserve infielders (Miguel Rojas and Santiago Espinal) don't have minor-league options remaining.

Foley (shoulder) was charged with four runs (one earned) over two-thirds of an inning in his first rehab appearance with Single-A San Jose on Sunday.

It's the first game appearance for Foley since he underwent right shoulder surgery last May. He is eligible for activation from the 60-day injured list in late May, but the Giants could ask Foley to spend additional time on his rehab assignment, depending on how he's faring. Foley served as the Tigers' primary closer during the 2024 regular season, and the Giants have an unsettled ninth-inning situation. That makes him worth tracking, but the 30-year-old will first have to prove he's worthy of high-leverage spots again.

Miller (back) yielded one hit and struck out one over a scoreless frame in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

MIller was cleared to pitch in a rehab game less than a week after landing on the 15-day injured list with a lower-back strain, putting him on pace to return Saturday when first eligible. Before getting injured, Miller was receiving some save chances as part of an unsettled Giants bullpen.

Naylor went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the White Sox.

Naylor extended his hitting streak to nine games with Sunday's two-hit effort. After going 9-for-76 (.118) in his first 19 games this year, Naylor's responded by batting .397 with a 1.020 OPS in his subsequent 19 contests. Overall, the first baseman is slashing .255/.317/.383 with five homers, 20 RBI, 12 runs scored and seven steals across 164 plate appearances this season.

Sugano (3-3) took the loss Sunday against Philadelphia, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two.

The Phillies got to Sugano early Sunday, scoring five runs over the first two innings, highlighted by three solo home runs, including two off the bat of Kyle Schwarber. Sugano's now given up nine runs over 10.1 innings in his last two starts after posting a 2.84 ERA across his first six outings this season. Overall, his ERA sits at 4.07 with a 1.19 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB across 42 innings. Sugano will look to get back on track his next time out, currently scheduled to come at home against the Diamondbacks.

Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 6-3 loss against Detroit.

Pasquantino plated the first run of the day for Kansas City with an opposite-field single in the third inning. It has been a difficult start to 2026 for the first baseman, as Sunday's two-hit effort raised his batting average to .200. The 28-year-old owns a .640 OPS with five homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base across 39 contests.

Garcia went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-3 loss against the Tigers.

Garcia reached base in all four plate appearances Sunday, tallying his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign. Following a breakout 2025 season in which he posted an .800 OPS, the third baseman has continued to produce in 2026. Through 39 games, the 26-year-old is slashing .285/.353/.437 with 12 doubles, a triple, three homers, 16 RBI, 21 runs and four stolen bases while operating exclusively out of the leadoff spot.
