Tatis is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Mariners on Wednesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Tatis is getting a rest day Wednesday, as the Padres are rolling with Nick Castellanos, Jackson Merrill and Ramon Laureano in the outfield from right to left. Tatis has reached base safely in nine of his last 10 games, and over that span he has gone 11-for-41 (.268) with two steals, five runs scored and five RBI.

Palacios will start at second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The left-handed-hitting Palacios has now drawn the last two starts at second base over the right-handed-hitting Ben Williamson when the Rays have faced right-handed pitchers. The two could form a loose platoon at the keystone until Tampa Bay gets Gavin Lux (shoulder/ankle) back from the injured list.

Rodon (elbow/hamstring) is slated to join Double-A Somerset and will face hitters in live batting practice Saturday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Though Rodon had already thrown 50 pitches over three simulated innings against live hitters Monday, the Yankees aren't yet ready to have him begin a rehab assignment and will instead have him pitch in a controlled setting once again this weekend. The veteran southpaw is recovering from October surgery to remove loose bodies and shave down a bone spur from his left elbow in addition to a tight right hamstring that cropped up a couple of weeks ago. He's without an official timeline to be activated from the 15-day injured list but appears to be trending toward an early May return.

Hodge is slated to undergo UCL surgery on his right elbow and will miss the rest of the 2026 season, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Hodge opened the season on the 15-day IL due to a right flexor strain that he sustained during spring training. Initially, there was hope he would be able to play catch by the beginning of April, but it appears Hodge's injury is severe enough for him to go under the knife. Given the nature of the issue, it wouldn't be surprising to see Hodge miss the opening portion of the 2027 season.

Grichuk is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Grichuk will hit the bench after starting in each of the Yankees' last three games, the past two of which came against southpaws. He had been hitless on the season heading into Tuesday's 7-1 loss before breaking through with an eighth-inning double off Reid Detmers. Grichuk is likely to be limited to a short-side platoon role moving forward.

Adams (triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Fort Myers on Wednesday, Theodore Tollefson of Zone Coverage reports.

Adams has been sidelined all season with a triceps issue that first popped up in early March. Given the long layoff, he's sure to require multiple rehab starts before the Twins make the decision of whether to add him to the big-league roster or keep him in the minors.

Williams elected to become a free agent Wednesday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Williams refused an outright assignment after being removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster. He could wind up returning on a minor-league contract, but for now, the utility player is free to sign anywhere.

Ballesteros is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Ballesteros had served as the Cubs' designated hitter in six of the past seven games but will be riding pine Wednesday while the Phillies send a tough lefty (Jesus Luzardo) to the hill. Seiya Suzuki will get a day off from playing the outfield and will draw the start at DH in the series finale.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Miguel Amaya will step in behind the plate for Kelly, who will be rested after making starts each of the past three days. Kelly is off to a scorching start to April, having recorded a hit in each of his starts while slashing .364/.488/.545 in 10 games overall.

The Rockies placed Freeland on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to left shoulder inflammation.

Freeland technically drew a start in Sunday's game against the Padres, but the injury resulted in him being scratched without throwing a pitch in that outing. After a few days of rest, Freeland didn't bounce back well enough to avoid the IL. The veteran left-hander will be eligible to rejoin the Colorado rotation before the end of this month, though it's unclear whether he will be cleared to start by that date.
