Pagan will be available out of the Reds' bullpen Friday versus the Marlins after his hand checked out fine, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Pagan was unavailable to take a save chance Thursday against the White Sox due to hand soreness. He still feels it a bit while throwing his splitter, so it's possible he'll reduce the usage of that offering, but Pagan will be available for a save opportunity Friday, should one arise.

The Giants optioned Furman to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Furman was called up at the beginning of the month and is still looking for his first major-league hit, having gone 0-for-6 at the plate while playing sporadically. The 25-year-old will receive more regular reps back in Sacramento.

The White Sox claimed Rogers off waivers from the Red Sox on Friday.

Boston designated Rogers for assignment earlier in the week after activating catcher Adley Rutschman from the injured list. Rogers quickly found a new home in Chicago, which will be the fourth stop for the veteran backstop in less than three weeks after he was DFA'd by Detroit at the end of July, then traded to the Orioles before being shipped to the Red Sox on Aug. 3. Rogers will share time behind the plate with Drew Romo while Chicago waits for Kyle Teel (ankle) and Joey Bart (hand) to return from the injured list.

The Giants optioned McCray to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

McCray hadn't been playing much for the Giants lately and now finds himself back in the minors. Turner Hill and Jonah Cox have been added to the roster as part of the outfield mix for the Giants.

Cox has gone 7-for-26 with one home run, four stolen bases and a 0:15 BB:K in his first 29 plate appearances in the majors. The speedy outfielder could be a useful sources of stolen bases in fantasy if he receives regular playing time, but there's no guarantee that will happen.

Rodriguez is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Marlins.

The lefty-swinging Rodriguez had started seven straight games versus righties, but he will begin Friday's festivities on the bench as the Marlins send right-hander Sandy Alcantara to the hill. Noelvi Marte will cover right field for the Reds in the series opener.

The Orioles optioned Hiraldo to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

The 30-year-old right-hander has posted a 5.87 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across 7.2 innings out of the Baltimore bullpen this season. He owns a 1.08 ERA and eight strikeouts over 8.1 innings at Triple-A in 2026.

The Orioles activated Bassitt (back) from the 60-day injured list Friday.

Bassitt will start Friday's game against the Rays after missing two-plus months following surgery to remove bone spurs from his back. The right-hander made three rehab starts with Triple-A Norfolk and posted a 1.98 ERA with a 12:4 K:BB across 13.2 innings. In 12 games (10 starts) with the Orioles this season, Bassitt owns a 5.27 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 37:22 K:BB across 56.1 frames.

Santillan (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

Santillan is finally ready to pitch in games again after being sidelined since late June with a severe left oblique strain. Because he's missed so much time, he likely will require a handful of rehab outings before being reinstated to the Reds' active roster. Santillan will be slated for a setup role with the Reds as long as Emilio Pagan's hand issue doesn't linger.

DeGrom is expected to undergo imaging on his right triceps Friday after departing Thursday's start against the Angels after just two innings, Jacob Gurvis of MLB.com reports.

Following the game Thursday, deGrom downplayed his right triceps fatigue. "I'm not too concerned," he said. "Hopefully I'll make my next [start], we'll see. Tonight, it just -- there in the second it was tight and just didn't want to loosen up. I haven't really had that before." DeGrom felt he could have kept pitching, but after needing 53 pitches to get through his two frames, manager Skip Schumaker pulled the plug on the right-hander. If deGrom needs to miss time, Jordan Montgomery would be a logical choice to fill his spot in the rotation.
