Ritchie did not factor into Wednesday's decision against the Cubs, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings.

Ritchie kept the Cubs off the board through the first four innings of Wednesday's game. He allowed two baserunners in the fifth before being replaced by Tyler Kinley, with the latter giving up an RBI single to Nico Hoerner for the Cubs' only run of the game. Ritchie ran up his pitch count to 87 while tossing 53 strikes (60.9 percent strike rate), but he failed to complete five frames for the first time through four MLB starts. He sits at a 3.32 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 21.2 innings this season. His next start is slated for next week on the road against the Marlins.

Iglesias collected the save against the Cubs on Wednesday, issuing one walk in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.

Iglesias came out of the bullpen for a second consecutive night, tasked with protecting Atlanta's 4-1 lead. His leadoff walk to Michael Busch was negated by Michael Conforto's groundball double play, and the Atlanta closer needed just one more pitch to get Pete Crow-Armstrong to pop out, securing Atlanta's 30th win of the season. Iglesias has converted all eight of his save opportunities this season and has given up just one hit and one walk over four outings since coming back from shoulder inflammation.

Yastrzemski went 1-for-1 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cubs.

The veteran outfielder pinch hit for Jose Azocar in the eighth inning with runners on first and second. Yastrzemski answered the call, lacing a double to right field to bring home Michael Harris before crossing home plate himself on a two-run homer from Mauricio Dubon. Yastrzemski has gone 7-for-21 with one home run, four RBI and five runs scored over his last nine games.

Dubon went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Atlanta's 4-1 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.

Mike Yastrzemski gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead with an RBI double in the eighth inning, and on the very next at-bat, Dubon extended the team's lead to three runs with a 383-foot homer to left field. It was Dubon's third home run of the season (first since April 6) and his ninth multi-RBI game. He is slashing .263/.321/.414 with 19 runs scored and 25 RBI across 165 plate appearances this season.

Soto was removed from Wednesday's game against the Tigers with an apparent ankle injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Soto fouled a ball hard off his ankle in the third inning of Wednesday's contest. He looked to be in a considerable amount of pain afterward, but he remained in the game for a few more innings before his eventual removal in the seventh. The Mets will likely have an update on the star outfielder's status after the game, though the fact that he was briefly able to play through the injury is an encouraging sign.

Wong was removed from Wednesday's game against the Phillies with an ankle injury, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Wong rolled his ankle while attempting to catch a pop fly in the eighth inning of Wednesday's contest and was replaced behind the plate when the Sox took the field in the ninth. X-rays came back negative after the game, per Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald, but the team will wait to see how he feels Thursday before determining his status. Any missed time for Wong would elevate Mickey Gasper into the backup catcher role behind starter Carlos Narvaez.

Ramirez went 0-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

The Guardians ran wild against the battery of Reid Detmers and Sebastian Rivero, going 5-for-5 on steal attempts, with Ramirez and Angel Martinez pilfering two each. Ramirez re-took the major-league lead for stolen bases with the performance, as he's racked up 18 steals in 45 games to go along with a sluggish .207/.340/.366 slash line, six homers, 16 RBI and 26 runs.

Martinez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a second run scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

Moved up to the leadoff spot, Martinez flashed his whole skill set as he drove the fourth pitch he saw from Reid Detmers into the left-field seats to put Cleveland up 1-0, and he later tormented the southpaw on the basepaths. Martinez has gone yard in back-to-back games and also has three stolen bases. On the season, he's slashing .260/.300/.473 with seven homers, eight steals, 17 runs and 19 RBI in 41 contests.

Smith struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 13th save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Angels.

The right-hander carved up the heart of the Halos' order, fanning Jorge Soler, Oswald Peraza and Zach Neto on 14 pitches (nine strikes). Smith has converted 10 straight save chances dating back to April 16, posting a 1.54 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 18:1 K:BB over 11.2 innings during that stretch. His 13 saves now leads the majors.

Messick (5-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Angels, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.

A fifth-inning cutter to Zach Neto wound up soaring over the left-field wall for a two-run homer, but it was the only real mistake Messick made en route to his fourth quality start of the season. The southpaw has allowed more than three runs in an outing only once so far in 2026, posting a 2.35 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 58:14 K:BB through 53.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Detroit.
