The right-hander allowed two unearned runs in the second inning before surrendering a solo shot to Matt Olson in the third frame. After throwing 103 pitches (61 strikes), Peralta was lifted following 4.2 innings, marking the first time he failed to complete five innings in consecutive starts this year after logging four frames in his previous outing. It has been a disappointing first season with the Mets for the 30-year-old, who owns a 5-7 record with a 4.68 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 98:39 K:BB across 100 innings (19 starts). Peralta's final start before the All-Star break is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 12-11 loss to the Nationals.

Diaz did damage on a Miles Mikolas sinker, lacing a two-run homer to left field in the third inning. It marked Diaz's second straight game with a homer after he went deep Saturday before resting in Sunday's series finale against the Rays. On the year, the catcher is hitting .242/.267/.386 with five homers, 21 RBI and 15 runs scored across 40 games.

Matthews went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 12-11 loss to Washington.

Matthews lined a three-run homer to left field to get Houston within a run in the eighth inning. Monday's long ball was his first since June 13, as the 24-year-old had gone 2-for-32 (.063) with 13 strikeouts across 17 appearances during the drought. Matthews started in center field against Washington and is competing for playing time in the outfield with Taylor Trammell, LaMonte Wade and Zach Dezenzo.

Abrams went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored and a steal in Monday's win over the Astros.

Abrams tallied a trio of hits, highlighted by a three-run blast in the third inning that left the bat at 108.1 mph. Monday marked the shortstop's sixth three-hit game of the season and his first since June 13. Over his past 15 contests, the 25-year-old is slashing .228/.262/.526 with five homers, 10 RBI, eight runs and three stolen bases.

Mead went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a double, three total RBI and two total runs scored in Monday's 12-11 win over Houston.

Mead was a constant contributor in Washington's offensive outburst, with each of his three hits driving in a run, highlighted by a solo homer in the fifth inning. The third baseman had gone 9-for-31 (.290) over his previous eight games entering Monday but hadn't driven in a run since June 25. The 25-year-old has seized regular playing time this season and is making the most of it, slashing .240/.333/.483 with 15 homers, 42 RBI, 40 runs and five stolen bases across 75 contests.

Wood went 1-for-2 with a grand slam, two additional runs scored, a steal and three walks in Monday's 12-11 win over the Astros.

Wood's lone hit was a big one, as he demolished a 446-foot grand slam to center field in the fifth inning. The big outfielder has been particularly hot of late, going 10-for-25 (.400) with four homers, 11 RBI, nine runs and a stolen base over his past seven games. The 23-year-old has put together an incredible 2026 campaign, slashing .268/.398/.541 with 24 homers, 60 RBI, 81 runs and 14 stolen bases across 92 games.

Brito is expected to be recalled from Triple-A El Paso to work as a bulk reliever in Tuesday's game against Arizona, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The Padres will have German Marquez start Tuesday's contest, but he's expected to be deployed as more of an opener in front of Brito. The right-hander is poised to make his first appearance at the big-league level since 2024, as he missed all of the 2025 season and the early part of the current season after undergoing internal brace surgery on his elbow last May. Brito has been excellent over eight outings between El Paso and Double-A San Antonio, turning in a 1.46 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 27:14 K:BB in 37 innings.

Beeter picked up the save in Monday's 12-11 win over the Astros. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings.

Entering with a one-run lead and two outs in the eighth inning, Beeter retired all four batters he faced to close out the high-scoring affair. It marked the right-hander's seventh save in 11 opportunities and his first since June 22 against the Phillies. With a 3.00 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 30:18 K:BB across 27 innings, Beeter seems to be the top ninth-inning option in an incredibly weak Nationals bullpen.

Marquez will serve as the Padres' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Marquez made six starts for the Padres earlier this season and made a three-inning relief appearance in Thursday's 12-7 loss to the Dodgers following his return from the injured list, so he'll be able to provide more length at the beginning of the game than the typical opener. The Padres are expected to recall Jhony Brito from Triple-A El Paso and have him cover multiple innings behind Marquez during Tuesday's contest.

Burrows (4-9) took the loss Monday, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against Washington. He struck out three.

Burrows was absolutely thrashed by the Washington offense, matching a season high with seven earned runs allowed. The right-hander has struggled immensely to keep the ball in the yard, serving up multiple homers in eight of his 18 outings this season after surrendering two long balls Monday. With a 5.99 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 75:35 K:BB across 94.2 innings, Burrows is projected to make one more start before the All-Star break, tentatively scheduled for Sunday at Texas.
