Imanaga (2-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

It was a tough day for Imanaga, who allowed a solo home run to Corey Seager in the first inning before he was tagged for a four-spot in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run Jonah Heim homer. Imanaga had been rolling to start the year, allowing just two runs through his first 18.1 innings coming into the day while posting a 0.71 WHIP. The left-hander's ERA now sits at 2.70 following his first loss. Imanaga will look to get back on track in his next outing, tentatively lined up for next week in San Diego.

Allen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Allen will hit the bench for the second game in a row after he ended a recent four-game run as Atlanta's starting shortstop on a down note by striking out in all three of his plate appearances in a 4-0 loss to the Marlins last Saturday. Orlando Arcia, meanwhile, went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in his return to the lineup in Tuesday's 7-5 win and will be in the starting nine again Wednesday. Arcia's longer track record at the big-league level looks like it might be enough to keep him ahead of Allen on the depth chart for now, despite a poor start to the season.

Arcia will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

After a four-game benching, Arcia returned to the lineup Tuesday and reached base twice in four plate appearances in Atlanta's 7-5 win. He'll get another chance to build on that performance by starting again Wednesday as he looks to solidify himself as Atlanta's everyday shortstop ahead of Nick Allen.

Barnes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Barnes will head back to the bench after he made his third start of the season in Tuesday's 8-2 loss, going hitless with two strikeouts in four at-bats. The veteran backstop is unlikely to play more than once or twice a week throughout the season if top catcher Will Smith maintains health.

The Dodgers recalled Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Nationals.

Knack earned a win while working in relief in the Dodgers' second game of the season back on March 19 in Tokyo, but he hasn't pitched for the big club since it resumed playing domestically. However, with Blake Snell (shoulder) going on the injured list Sunday and with the Dodgers electing to expand their rotation to six men this week, Knack will be called upon to make his first start of the season with Los Angeles. Though he struggled in his three postseason relief appearances last fall, Knack showed impressive poise for a rookie during the 2024 regular season, making 15 appearances (12 starts) for the Dodgers and logging a 3.65 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 69:18 K:BB over 69 innings. With a decent showing Wednesday, Knack should be able to stick around and make multiple turns through the rotation until the Dodgers get more of their starting pitchers back from injury.

The Dodgers optioned Wrobleski to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

One day after getting called up to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Wrobleski will be swapped off the active roster for right-hander Landon Knack, who will be recalled to fill the other opening in the Los Angeles rotation. The Dodgers expanded to a six-man rotation this week due to the injury to Blake Snell (shoulder) and for the purpose of giving Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki extra days of rest between starts, but Wrobleski doesn't look as though he'll be in line for an extended stay with the big club. The Dodgers will look to break in a new sixth starter next week after Wrobleski was rocked for eight earned runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings en route to taking a loss Tuesday in his 2025 debut in the majors.

Cavalli (elbow) threw two innings in a Florida Complex League game Wednesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Per Nationals manager Dave Roberts, Cavalli was sitting in the 94-to-97 mph range with his fastball in what was his first rehab appearance of the season. Cavalli is nearly two years removed from Tommy John surgery, having been delayed last year as he went through a "dead arm" phase. The Nationals will manage the righty's workload in the first half, with the goal of having him join the rotation at some point after the All-Star break.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Freeman (ankle) will be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Freeman has not played any rehab games, but he's been taking live batting practice the last few days and will be thrown back into the lineup this weekend against the Cubs. The veteran first baseman has been out since late March after tweaking his surgically repaired right ankle when he slipped in the shower.

Gurriel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Gurriel will sit for just the second time in 13 games as the Diamondbacks give him some time to clear his head following an 0-for-15 stretch at the plate over the past four contests. The Diamondbacks will roll out an outfield of Jake McCarthy, Alek Thomas and Corbin Carroll from left to right in the series finale.

Moreno is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Jose Herrera will get the nod behind the dish for the day game after Moreno started the first two contests of the series. Moreno is hitting a respectable .267 so far this season, but he hasn't supplemented the batting average with useful counting statistics (five runs, one RBI in 11 games).
