  • Andy Pages CF | LAD

Dodgers' Andy Pages: Clubs seventh homer

Pages went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-3 victory over the A's.

Pages went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's series opener to snap an eight-game hit streak, but he got back on track Wednesday with his seventh homer and fifth three-hit effort of the campaign. The 24-year-old began the season with a .544 OPS in his first 20 contests, but in his past 20 games he's batting .388 (33-for-85) with 11 extra-base hits, five stolen bases, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored.

  • Dennis Santana RP | ARI

Pirates' Dennis Santana: Clean ninth inning

Santana allowed one hit with no walks and no strikeouts across a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday against the Mets.

He didn't get a save because the Pirates held a four-run lead, but he entered the game following David Bednar. Santana has now pitched in the ninth inning in four consecutive appearances, picking up a save and a win in that span. Given that, Santana appears to be the top choice for saves in Pittsburgh for the time being.

  • David Bednar RP | NYY

Pirates' David Bednar: Looks to be in setup role

Bednar threw a scoreless eighth inning without allowing a baserunner and striking out two Wednesday against the Mets.

Bednar was tasked with protecting a four-run lead in the eighth inning, and he needed only 12 pitches to do so. Bednar has allowed only three earned runs across 11.2 innings with an 18:1 K:BB since being recalled April 19. However, he's pitched in the eighth inning and behind Dennis Santana regularly since Santana returned from bereavement leave May 4.

  • Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Rebounds with quality start

Yamamoto (5-3) earned the win Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over six innings against the Athletics. He struck out six.

The right-hander surrendered five runs in his previous start at Arizona, but he bounced back Wednesday with his fifth quality start of the campaign. Yamamoto's five wins are tied for sixth in MLB, and he has a 2.12 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 59:16 K:BB through 51 innings this year. A matchup with the Diamondbacks is likely on tap for next week.

  • Jared Triolo SS | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Hits in four straight

Triolo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Mets.

Triolo recorded his first home run of the season Thursday and has at least one hit in five of his last six games. He's scored four runs in that span and has surprisingly tallied four total extra-base hits. Despite the slight uptick in production, Triolo is hitting just .167/.233/.308 across 87 plate appearances.

  • Matt Gorski 1B | LAD

Pirates' Matt Gorski: Pops second homer

Gorski went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Mets.

Gorski was in the lineup rarely with Derek Shelton managing the Pirates, but he has started five of six games since Don Kelly took over. He's struck out nine times in 19 plate appearances in that span while collecting only four hits, though he did manage a two-run homer in the second inning Wednesday, providing what proved to be the winning runs for Pittsburgh.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Goes yard Wednesday

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Bogaerts hasn't shown much in the way of power overall in 2025, but he's now smashed three home runs in his last 14 games. Despite batting just .245 during this period, the veteran infielder does have 15 RBI and two stolen bases over his last 49 at-bats. As long as he maintains a spot in the heart of San Diego's batting order, Bogaerts should continue to see plenty of RBI chances going forward.

  • Padres' Randy Vasquez: Six strong innings in third win

Vasquez (3-3) earned the win Wednesday against the Angels after allowing one run on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out five.

Vasquez tied a season high in punchouts, and he now owns a 10:2 K:BB in his last two starts after posting a disastrous 13:24 K:BB in his first seven outings of the year. The right-hander has also tossed at least five frames while conceding two runs or fewer six times through nine starts on the campaign. With Yu Darvish (elbow) going on a rehab assignment, it's unclear if Vasquez will hold onto a rotation spot once the former returns. That said, Vasquez will bring a 3.45 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 44.1 innings into his next scheduled start against a hot Blue Jays offense.

  • Clay Holmes SP | CHC

Mets' Clay Holmes: Gives up two homers in loss

Holmes (5-2) took the loss against the Pirates on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four across six innings.

Holmes faced the minimum number of batters in three of six innings pitched. However, he gave up two-run homers to Matt Gorski and Jared Triolo in the second and fifth frames, respectively, and Holmes wasn't able to escape the loss as the Mets' offense couldn't muster up any runs. It was just the second time this season that Holmes gave up more than three runs, which raised his ERA to 3.14 across 48.2 innings. His next start is slated next week at Fenway Park against the Red Sox.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Struggles again in seventh loss

Senzatela (1-7) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers after allowing six runs on eight hits and four walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

For the seventh time this season, Senzatela surrendered at least seven hits in a start. The veteran right-hander has yet to give up fewer than six knocks in any of his nine outings this year, and he set a season high with four walks Wednesday. After giving up no earned runs over 9.2 innings to open the season, Senzatela has an 8.21 ERA and 19:11 K:BB over his last seven appearances. He won't be a recommended fantasy streamer versus the Phillies in his next scheduled start, currently projected for early next week.
