  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Smacks clutch home run

Stott went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a pair of walks in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Reds.

Stott's homer, his sixth of the season, proved to be the decisive blow in the win -- the second baseman drove a two-strike pitch from Tony Santillan 405 feet over the right-field fence to put the Phillies ahead in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old Stott had been slumping coming into the day, going just 2-for-20 over his previous six contests. Overall, he's slashing .238/.310/.340 with 37 runs scored, 37 RBI and 13 stolen bases across 327 plate appearances this year.

  • Bryce Jarvis RP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Bryce Jarvis: Back in majors

The Diamondbacks recalled Jarvis from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

The right-hander has spent the past few weeks with Reno but will rejoin the big club after Ryan Thompson (shoulder) was placed on the injured list. Jarvis has a 6.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB over 10.1 innings with Arizona this season.

  • Chase Burns SP | CIN

Reds' Chase Burns: Better vs. Phillies

Burns did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Phillies, allowing a run on two hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out seven.

While Burns couldn't make it out of the fifth inning after throwing 91 pitches, it was certainly an encouraging outing for the rookie right-hander after he allowed seven runs (five earned) while recording just one out in his last start against the Red Sox. The 22-year-old Burns sports an 8.10 ERA with a 1.90 WHIP through his first 10 major-league innings, though he's averaged an impressive 13.5 K/9. Burns is currently lined up for a more favorable home matchup with the Rockies his next time out.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

    Phillies' Zack Wheeler: One-hits Cincinnati

Wheeler (9-3) earned the win Sunday in a complete game against the Reds, allowing one run on one hit. He struck out 12.

It was a dominant performance from Wheeler in his fifth career complete game. The right-hander allowed just one hit, an Austin Hays homer to lead off the fifth inning. Wheeler hasn't allowed an earned run in his last four starts (28 innings) while logging 38 strikeouts in that span. His ERA is down to 2.17 through 18 starts (116 innings) with a stellar 0.84 WHIP and 148 strikeouts. Wheeler is currently scheduled to face the Padres on the road next week in what'll likely be his final outing before the All-Star break.

  • Diamondbacks' Lourdes Gurriel: Getting Sunday off

Gurriel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Arizona will go with a starting outfield of Jake McCarthy, Alek Thomas and Corbin Carroll from left to right while Gurriel receives his first day off since June 22. Gurriel had started in each of the last 12 games, batting .224 with two home runs, one stolen base, six RBI and six runs during that stretch.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

    Dodgers' Will Smith: Resting Sunday

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Smith will take a seat for the series finale after he started behind the plate Friday and Saturday. Dalton Rushing will get the nod at catcher Sunday.

  • Tommy Henry SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Tommy Henry: Called up, shifted to 60-day IL

The Diamondbacks recalled Henry (elbow) from Triple-A Reno and placed him to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

According to Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, Arizona manager Torey Lovullo relayed Sunday that Henry recently underwent Tommy John surgery, which included both internal bracing and ligament repair. After injuring his elbow in mid-June, Henry went on Reno's IL, but the Diamondbacks needed to add him back to the big-league roster in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Henry will miss the rest of the season and will also be sidelined for at least the first half of the 2026 campaign.

  • Jack Little P | DET

Dodgers' Jack Little: Bumped down to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Little to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

The Dodgers sent Little back to the minors to clear room on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Emmet Sheehan, who was recalled from Oklahoma City to start Sunday against the Astros. Little has served as a middle-relief option over his two stints in the big leagues this season, making two appearances while giving up two earned runs over three innings.

  • Diamondbacks' Tristin English: Called up from Triple-A

The Diamondbacks selected English's contract from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

The 28-year-old will receive his first promotion to the majors as Pavin Smith (oblique) heads to the injured list in a corresponding move. English was a third-round pick by the Diamondbacks in the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, but he's never developed into a marquee prospect. He has a .336/.388/.546 slash line with nine home runs in 58 games with Triple-A Reno this season but isn't likely to have a major role while up with the big club.

  • Emmet Sheehan SP | LAD

Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan: Recalled ahead of start

The Dodgers recalled Sheehan from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his start Sunday against the Astros.

Sheehan will be making his second start of the season with the big club, after he previously struck out six batters over four innings of one-run ball in a June 18 outing against the Padres following his return from the 60-day injured list. During his time in the minors while completing his rehab from Tommy John surgery and in his two starts since being optioned to Triple-A, Sheehan owns a 4.12 ERA in 19.2 innings, but his 0.92 WHIP and 36:2 K:BB offer a better indicator of how dominant he's looked in his return from the major arm injury. Now that he's set to rejoin the Dodgers and could be in line for multiple turns if the team keeps a six-man rotation in place, Sheehan makes for an appealing speculative pickup in fantasy leagues where he's still available.
