Goodman will get a chance to rest in the series finale after he had started at either catcher or designated hitter in each of the Rockies' previous five contests. Braxton Fulford will get a turn behind the plate Sunday, while Brenton Doyle gets a day off from playing center field as the DH.

Crooks is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Crooks will take a seat for the day game after starting three of the last four contests while going 1-for-10 with a run scored. Pedro Pages will draw the start at catcher Sunday, but with the 71-72 Cardinals fading from playoff contention, it wouldn't be surprising if the rookie Crooks ended up seeing the bulk of the playing time at the position for the remainder of the season.

Reds' Jose Trevino: Returns to No. 2 role
Trevino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
On the bench for the second time in three days, Trevino is likely to see his playing time dwindle over the final few weeks of the season after top backstop Tyler Stephenson was reinstated from the injured list Friday. Trevino has produced at least one hit in each of his last three starts but has struggled on the whole since the All-Star break, slashing just .186/.226/.221 with no home runs or stolen bases.

Vientos is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
With Brett Baty occupying third base and Juan Soto filling the designated-hitter spot, Vientos will exit the lineup for the first time since Aug. 16. While starting the previous 19 games, Vientos slashed .310/.390/.761 with nine home runs, 24 RBI and 16 runs.

Bailey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Bailey started the previous six games and will receive a day off after posting an .855 OPS during that span. Andrew Knizner will step in behind the plate to do the catching for righty Kai-Wei Teng.
