  • Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Continues to struggle mightily

Woods Richardson (0-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing eight runs (six earned) on seven hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out one.

After giving up just three runs over his first two starts of the season, Woods Richardson's results since then have been disastrous. The right-hander has a 9.79 ERA across his last seven outings (30.1 innings), during which he's yielded at least five runs on five occasions while failing to fan more than three in any appearance. Still without a win in 2026, Woods Richardson won't be a recommended fantasy option when he brings a 7.71 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 20:20 K:BB through 42 frames overall into his next scheduled matchup versus Houston.

  • Red Sox's Aroldis Chapman: Up to nine saves

Chapman earned the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Phillies, walking two while striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

The Phillies would get the tying runs into scoring position after Chapman issued a pair of walks. However, the southpaw would strike out Alec Bohm to escape trouble, sealing Boston's two-run victory and his ninth save. Chapman has turned in 10 straight scoreless appearances (9.2 innings), striking out 16 in that span, to lower his ERA to a pristine 0.66 with a 0.88 WHIP and 12.5 K/9 across 13.2 innings this year.

  • Sonny Gray SP | BOS

Red Sox's Sonny Gray: Sharp in second straight win

Gray (4-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Phillies, allowing one run on two hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

It was a strong performance from Gray, with Philadelphia's lone run coming on a Justin Crawford homer in the third inning. In two starts since returning from the IL, Gray has allowed just one run on six hits over 11 innings. Overall in 2026, his ERA sits at 3.18 with a 1.15 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB across seven starts (34 innings). Gray will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is currently lined up for next week in Kansas City.

  • Framber Valdez SP | DET

Tigers' Framber Valdez: No-decision after suspension

Valdez did not factor into Wednesday's decision against the Mets, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven across 6.2 innings.

Valdez took to the mound Wednesday after serving a five-game suspension for throwing at Trevor Story during the Tigers' 10-3 loss to the Red Sox on May 5. Valdez limited the Mets to just one run through six innings but was tagged for another run in the seventh that tied the game at 2-2. He logged 17 first-pitch strikes and generated 11 whiffs on 106 pitches (72 strikes), which is the first time he's cracked the century mark this season. It was the sixth quality start of the season for Valdez, who has a 4.32 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 42:17 K:BB across 50 innings. He's lined up to face the Guardians at home next week.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Drives in two runs Wednesday

Pasquantino went 1-for-4 with a two-run single during the Royals' 6-5 loss to the White Sox on Wednesday.

Pasquantino tied things up at 3-3 in the fifth inning, when his single to center field brought home both Bobby Witt and Lane Thomas. It was the fourth time this season that Pasquantino has logged two RBI in a game, and his 21 RBI are second most on the Royals behind only Witt (22).

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Makes things interesting Wednesday

Witt went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run home run during the Royals' 6-5 loss to the White Sox on Wednesday.

The Royals were down 6-3 heading into the ninth inning, but Witt made the White Sox fans nervous after smacking a two-run homer off Seranthony Dominguez. It was the seventh home run of the season for Witt, four of which have come over his last nine games. He's quickly rebounded from a slow start to the campaign and is slashing .306/.378/.506 with 12 steals, 22 RBI and 22 runs scored across 193 plate appearances this season.

  • Seth Lugo SP | KC

Royals' Seth Lugo: Yields five runs in loss

Lugo (1-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings.

Lugo generated just three groundouts and five whiffs on 92 pitches during Wednesday's start. It was the fourth game in a row that he allowed at least 10 baserunners, and over that span he has produced a dreadful 7.59 ERA, 2.16 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB across 21.1 innings. Lugo will look to turn things around in his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against the Red Sox.

  • Jarred Kelenic LF | CHW

White Sox's Jarred Kelenic: Drives in two runs Wednesday

Kelenic went 2-for-3 with a two-run double, a walk and a run scored during the White Sox's 6-5 win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Kelenic broke the 3-3 tie in the fifth inning after smacking a double to right field that brought both Andrew Benintendi and Colson Montgomery home. It was the second multi-hit game of the season for Kelenic, who should continue to see more starts in the outfield as long as both Austin Hays (calf) and Everson Pereira (pectoral) are on the 10-day injured list.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Crushes pivotal home run

Montgomery went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during the White Sox's 6-5 win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Montgomery was brought home in the fifth inning on a two-run double by Jarred Kelenic, and the former gave the White Sox a 6-3 lead in the seventh after belting a solo homer off John Schreiber. It was Montgomery's 11th home run of the season and second in 11 games since May 1. The 24-year-old shortstop is slashing .230/.331/.500 with one steal, 29 RBI and 20 runs scored across 175 plate appearances this season.

  • Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Swipes another base in loss

McGonigle went 1-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Mets.

While Detroit has been scuffling a bit at 19-24, McGonigle has been a bright spot for the Tigers all year long. The rookie is now batting .301 with an .853 OPS, and he's stolen a base in consecutive games to get to seven steals overall in as many attempts. McGonigle is making a strong push for AL Rookie of the Year honors, though Chicago's Munetaka Murakami is also very much in the mix.
