    Angels' Mike Trout: Resting Wednesday

    Trout is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Royals on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

    Trout will get a rest day Wednesday while Yoan Moncada serves as the designated hitter and bats third. Trout has gone 14-for-67 (.209) with two home runs, five RBI and 11 runs scored since Sept. 1, and his homer against the Rockies on Saturday was the 400th of his major-league career.

    O'Hoppe is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Royals on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

    O'Hoppe will take a breather while Sebastian Rivero works behind home plate and bats eighth. O'Hope has gone 4-for-19 (.211) with one double since being reinstated from the 7-day concussion injured list Sept. 15.

    White Sox's Derek Hill: Claimed by Chicago

    The White Sox claimed Hill off waivers from the Marlins on Wednesday.

    Hill was DFA'd by Miami earlier in the week but will spent the remaining five days of the regular season with the White Sox after the team placed Mike Tauchman (knee) on the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. Hill slashed .213/.275/.331 with three home runs, 10 RBI, 19 runs scored, seven stolen bases and a 9:46 BB:K across 141 plate appearances with the Marlins.

  • White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Back with big club

    The White Sox recalled Cannon from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

    Cannon takes the 26-man roster spot of Wikelman Gonzalez after he was placed on the 15-day IL with a right elbow impingement. Cannon has appeared in 20 games for Chicago this season and made 17 starts, posting a 5.67 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 78:37 K:BB across 98.1 innings.

  • White Sox's Wikelman Gonzalez: Placed on 15-day IL

    The White Sox placed Gonzalez on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right elbow impingement.

    Gonzalez got his first taste of the big leagues this season and appeared in 16 games out of Chicago's bullpen, registering a 2.66 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB across 20.1 innings of work. The 23-year-old should be apart of the team's bullpen in 2026.

    White Sox's Mike Tauchman: Placed on 10-day IL

    The White Sox placed Tauchman on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a torn meniscus in his right knee.

    Tauchman's season is officially over after slashing .263/.356/.400 with nine home runs, 40 RBI, 44 runs scored and a 45:86 BB:K across 385 plate appearances over 93 games. Tauchman signed a one-year deal with the White Sox last winter and will again become a free agent after the season.

    Twins' Luke Keaschall: Out of lineup Wednesday

    Keaschall (thumb) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

    Keaschall was removed from Tuesday's game versus Texas after he injured his thumb while stealing second base. With Keaschall out Wednesday, Ryan Fitzgerald is making the start at second base and batting eighth. Keaschall is slashing an impressive .302/.382/.445 with four home runs, 28 RBI, 25 runs scored, 14 stolen bases and a 19:29 BB:K across his first 207 big-league plate appearances this season.

    Tigers' Jace Jung: Sent down to Triple-A

    The Tigers optioned Jung to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

    Jung was recalled from Toledo last week after Colt Keith (ribs) was placed on the 10-day injured list. This time, Justyn-Henry Malloy is taking Jung's spot on the 26-man roster. Jung has appeared in 21 games for the Tigers this season, slashing .106/.236/.106 with zero extra-base hits, three RBI, eight runs scored and a 7:16 BB:K across 55 trips to the plate.

  • Tigers' Justyn-Henry Malloy: Back with big club

    The Tigers recalled Malloy from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

    With Malloy back with the big-league club, Jace Jung has been optioned to Toledo. Malloy was sent down to Triple-A earlier this month and has slashed .214/.347/.296 with one home run, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored and a 20:31 BB:K across 121 plate appearances with the Tigers this season.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Dealing with knee issue

    Holliday is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Rays due to a knee injury, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

    The Orioles had originally planned for Holliday to play against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, but the team is being cautious, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com. With Holliday sidelined, Jordan Westburg is making the start at second base for Baltimore with Jeremiah Jackson entering the starting nine at third base.
