Cease was removed in the fifth inning of his start Sunday against the Pirates due to an apparent injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com He struck out eight and allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk across 4.2 innings.

Though the nature of Cease's injury isn't known, the right-hander was seen shaking out his legs while he was visited on the mound by manager John Schneider and the Toronto medical staff, per Mitch Bannon of The Athletic. After initially staying in the game following the visit, Cease threw just two more pitches before being lifted. His availability for his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Baltimore, should become clearer once he's undergone further testing.

Suarez allowed a hit and a walk while striking out four over 2.2 scoreless innings in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Padres.

With starter J.T. Ginn struggling to find the zone, Suarez entered in the third inning and allowed an inherited baserunner to score, but he was able to settle in and keep the Padres from extending their lead for the remainder of his outing. The southpaw's four strikeouts marked his highest total through four appearances with the Athletics and his second-highest mark of the campaign. Across 13 outings between Atlanta, Seattle and the Athletics, Suarez owns a 6.17 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 30:16 K:BB in 23.1 innings.

Caglianone went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Mariners.

Caglianone contributed to the Royals' three-run first inning with a two-out RBI single before promptly stealing second base. It marked the 23-year-old's first successful stolen base of the season after he was caught in his lone previous attempt April 4 against the Brewers. Speed isn't exactly the right fielder's calling card, but he's also shown improvement at the plate in his second big-league season. Caglianone is slashing .247/.310/.416 with 15 extra-base hits (five homers), 11 RBI and 18 runs across 47 games in 2026 after mustering just a .532 OPS over 62 contests in 2025.

Langford (forearm) was cleared to begin a throwing and hitting progression Friday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Langford was briefly shut down after earlier this month after experiencing renewed soreness in his right forearm during an extended spring training game, but he seems to be steadily ramping back up again. The 24-year-old will continue his hitting and throwing progressions for the next week before embarking on a rehab assignment. He appears to be trending toward a return from the 10-day injured list in early-to-mid-June.

Kreidler will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Kreidler will draw a fourth straight start at shortstop after going 3-for-12 with a home run, a double, four RBI and an additional run scored over the previous four contests. His run as a lineup regular is likely to come to an end in short order, however, as Brooks Lee is expected to shift back from third base when Tristan Gray returns from the paternity list Monday.

The Orioles scratched Mayo from the starting lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Tigers due to lower-back discomfort, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The back issue presumably cropped up while Mayo was working out prior to the game. The Orioles will go with Weston Wilson as their starting third baseman and No. 6 batter in his place. It's unclear whether Mayo will be available off the bench or if he has a chance of returning to the lineup for the nightcap.

Lee is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Lee went 2-for-8 with two runs across the last two games but will be on the bench for Sunday's series finale, while Ryan Kreidler starts at shortstop and bats ninth. Lee has gone 19-for-74 (.257) with one steal, seven RBI and nine runs scored since May 1.

Keaschall is not in Minnesota's starting lineup against Boston on Sunday.

Keaschall will end up sitting for the last two games of the series, with Orlando Arcia starting at second base and batting seventh against Sonny Gray on Sunday. Keaschall is slashing .233/.318/.307 with 10 steals in 12 attempts, one home run and 18 RBI across 201 plate appearances this season.

Martinez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Martinez will hit the bench for the series finale in Philadelphia, ending a streak of 11 consecutive starts for the 24-year-old. The Guardians will go with David Fry as Martinez's replacement in the lineup in left field.

Buxton is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Buxton will get a breather Sunday after going 3-for-10 with one home run, three RBI and five strikeouts over the first two games of the series. James Outman will start in center field and bat eighth in the series finale in Boston.
