The Red Sox activated Gonzalez (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Sunday. He'll start at designated hitter and bat fifth in the Red Sox's series finale versus the Yankees.

Gonzalez is ready to make his 2026 MLB debut after fully recovering from the shoulder surgery he underwent in March. The 29-year-old was a key contributor for the Red Sox during the 2025 regular season with a .305/.343/.483 slash line in 341 plate appearances, and his return from the IL could provide a much-needed boost for a banged-up Boston lineup.

Rocker did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing four hits and a walk across six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Rocker was excellent against Toronto, recording his fourth quality start of the year and just his second in his last seven outings. Rocker, who pitched as a traditional starter Sunday after working behind an opener in his last appearances against the Twins, now sports a 3.83 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 70:31 K:BB across 80 innings this season. He's tentatively lined up for a home matchup with the Tigers his next time out.

The Red Sox optioned Gasper to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The 30-year-old had received fairly regular playing time between catcher and designated hitter since about mid-May, but his .486 OPS in 17 games this month will result in him being demoted. Romy Gonzalez (shoulder) was reinstated from the injured list and will take over Gasper's spot on the 26-man active roster.

Diaz was removed from Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks due to a left shoulder strain, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

The veteran slugger went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored prior to departing the contest. Diaz should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated, and he'll have a team day off Monday to aid in his recovery ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Kansas City.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Tyler Heineman will get the nod at catcher while O'Hoppe rests after starting the previous two games. Dating back to the start of June, O'Hoppe is hitting .286 with two home runs, 10 RBI and five runs in 20 games.

Walton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Walton will hit the bench for the matinee game after he started at second base in each of the Angels' previous three tilts while going a collective 2-for-11 with a double and a 0:5 BB:K. Oswald Peraza will replace him at the keystone Sunday, but Walton may still be viewed as the Angels' preferred option at the position after posting an .847 OPS since being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 22.

Siri is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Siri returned from the paternity list Saturday but has been left out of the lineup for the Angels' final two games of the weekend. Though he had been serving as the team's everyday outfielder in place of the injured Mike Trout (hamstring) prior to going on paternity leave, Siri may now have to play second fiddle at the position to Josh Lowe. Since being called up from Triple-A Salt lake when Siri was deactivated Wednesday, Lowe has gone 4-for-10 with a stolen base and a run.

Soler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

After making a surprise return from the injured list Monday, Soler served as the Angels' designated hitter for each of the team's ensuing five games and went 4-for-16 with a pair of home runs, four walks, four RBI and three runs. He doesn't appear to have experienced any setbacks with his oblique injury since returning to action, so Soler's absence from the lineup Sunday is likely just a planned rest day.

Muncy will start at third base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Angels.

He'll remain in the starting nine for an eighth straight game after going 5-for-23 (.217 average) with a home run, three walks, a stolen base, four RBI and two runs over the prior seven contests. Muncy looks like he'll have a fairly clear path to an everyday role at the hot corner while Zack Gelof (hand) is on the injured list.

Gonzalez (shoulder) is expected to be reinstated from the injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Yankees, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Gonzalez has been on the shelf all season after undergoing shoulder surgery in March, but he's good to join the Red Sox after going 2-for-18 with two walks and a homer during his six-game rehab assignment. The 29-year-old had a career-best .826 OPS in 96 regular-season games last season and could carve out regular playing time in a Boston infield that is without Trevor Story (abdomen), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (forearm), Marcelo Mayer (forearm) and Nick Sogard (oblique).
