Contreras is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Contreras will head to Triple-A after posting a 9.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with six strikeouts over six innings in five appearances with the Astros so far this season. His demotion will create an opening in the bullpen for Logan VanWey, who is expected to be called up from Triple-A ahead of Monday's game in Seattle.

VanWey will join the Astros ahead of their series in Seattle after making four appearances out of the bullpen for Sugar Land so far this season, posting a 4.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP with seven strikeouts over four innings. Houston is expected to option Luis Contreras to Triple-A to clear a spot in the bullpen for VanWey, who will be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.

Robles (arm) exited Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Giants early with a left arm injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Robles made a spectacular catch in right field for the second out in the bottom of the ninth inning, but he collided with the wall in foul territory and was ultimately carted off the field. The outfielder's status will likely be updated in the near future, but Robles appears to be set to miss some action moving forward.

Brebbia (1-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win in Sunday's 4-3 victory over the White Sox.

Brebbia worked the top of the ninth inning with the Tigers down 3-1 and ended up walking away with his first win of the season when Detroit scored three times in the bottom half of the frame. The veteran righty was 0-6 with a 5.86 ERA for the White Sox and Atlanta last year, but he's got a sparkling 0.00 ERA across five innings so far in 2025 to go along with his 1-0 record.

Baez went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Baez is now 6-for-18 this season, and all six hits have come in a pair of three-hit performances. The veteran could use a little more consistency moving forward, though after seeing his average tumble to .184 during the 2024 regular season, the early 2025 results are at least a step in the right direction.

Wong is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Wong will head to the bench after he went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Boston's 5-4 extra-inning win in the first game of the doubleheader. Carlos Narvaez will take over behind the plate and bat eighth in the nightcap.

Tolbert stole two bases while appearing as a pinch runner in Sunday's 4-1 win over Baltimore.

Despite receiving only three plate appearances since his promotion March 31, the rookie utility man has flashed his speed, swiping four bags in four attempts. Tolbert pinch ran for designated hitter Vinnie Pasquantino in the seventh inning and promptly stole second and third off Orioles reliever Seranthony Dominguez. Tolbert slashed an anemic .240/.323/.323 over 522 plate appearances across two minor league levels in 2024, so it will be difficult for him to find regular playing time in Kansas City. However, given his proficiency on the basepaths, Tolbert could accumulate steals in a bench role while Dairon Blanco (Achilles) is on the injured list.

The Blue Jays list Lucas as their probable starter for Monday's game against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Lucas entered the rotation last Wednesday as a replacement for the injured Max Scherzer (thumb) and turned some heads in his first MLB start. He completed five innings en route to scooping up a win against the Nationals, striking out three batters in the process while allowing just three baserunners. The 28-year-old southpaw tentatively lines up for a two-start week; after Monday's outing, he's on track to face the Orioles on the road Saturday.

Casas is not in the starting lineup for the nightcap of Sunday's doubleheader with the Cardinals, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Casas will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts in the team's 5-4 extra-inning win in Game 1 on Sunday. Romy Gonzalez will draw the start at first base and bat seventh versus St. Louis.

Povich (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing four runs on 13 hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out four.

The Baltimore southpaw allowed a career-worst 13 hits -- a triple, three doubles and nine singles -- as the Royals sprayed the ball around the park. Despite the hit parade, Povich tossed only 88 pitches, 61 of which were strikes, to complete this appearance. After 10.1 innings this season, the 24-year-old sports an ugly 6.10 ERA and 1.84 WHIP; however, better things may come for Povich as his FIP is 1.20 due in part to a .529 BABIP. He currently lines up to make his next start against the Blue Jays at home next weekend.
