Misner is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Yankees on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Misner will begin Friday's contest in the dugout with the Yankees sending southpaw Carlos Rodon to the mound, as the Rays start Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Jose Caballero in the outfield. Misner has tallied at least one hit in each of his last five games, and over that span he has gone 8-for-17 with two walks, five runs, two homers, four RBI and a stolen base.

Astros manager Joe Espada said Friday that Ort (oblique) could be activated off the 15-day injured list during this weekend's series against the Padres, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Ort has made four appearances for Triple-A Sugar Land during his rehab assignment and has allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out three over three innings. He started the year on the 15-day injured list due to a left oblique strain, but it appears the 33-year-old right-hander is on the cusp of returning to the Astros' bullpen.

Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Chisholm was given a one-game suspension by Major League Baseball, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Chisholm was ejected from Thursday's game for arguing a called third strike in the seventh inning. The 27-year-old infielder then publicly criticized the call on social media after he was tossed, which prompted the league to hand out a one-game ban. He'll remain eligible to play until a verdict is reached and will start at second base against the Rays on Friday.

The Rays selected Simpson's contract from Triple-A Durham on Friday.

While Simpson is now officially on the Rays' active roster, he is still traveling and will not arrive in time for the start of Friday's game against the Yankees, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Thus, he is not in the lineup but could conceivably appear off the bench. Manager Kevin Cash indicated earlier Friday that Simpson will play regularly while with the big club.

LeMahieu (calf) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

LeMahieu has been playing in extended spring training contests and is ready to test things out in a formal game setting. He will require a lengthy rehab assignment, perhaps needing the full 20-day allotment. Oswaldo Cabrera has been serving as the Yankees' primary third baseman with LeMahieu out and there's no guarantee that LeMahieu will be handed regular playing time upon his return.

Lowe (oblique) has resumed throwing and could start swinging a bat Saturday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Lowe suffered a Grade 2 oblique strain in late March, which prompted his placement on the 10-day injured list. He's progressed enough in his recovery to resume throwing, and he appears to be ready to make the next step by swinging a bat. It's positive news for Lowe, and how his oblique reacts to more work over the coming days will determine when he'll be ready to embark on a rehab assignment.

Crawford (knee) threw an "up-and-down" bullpen session Friday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Crawford's next step is expected to be a live batting practice session, which would be his first time facing hitters since he was diagnosed with right patellar tendinopathy. There is still no timetable for Crawford's return to the Boston rotation, but a rehab assignment shouldn't be too far off.

Manager Brandon Hyde said Friday that Rodriguez (elbow/shoulder) will receive a second opinion after getting MRI results back, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The imaging results haven't been disclosed, but it could be an ominous sign that Rodriguez is immediately looking for a second opinion. The right-hander was rehabbing from elbow/triceps inflammation before experiencing soreness in his right shoulder Thursday, which prompted the MRI.

Wong (finger) has progressed to hitting off a tee, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Recovering from a fractured left pinky finger, Wong hasn't done much catching yet but is expected to be cleared for that soon. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday that Wong could return in around two-and-a-half weeks, while the catcher believes it'll be sooner than that.
