The Royals optioned Cameron to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Cameron took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in his major-league debut Wednesday against the Rays, ultimately tossing 6.1 scoreless frames on one hit and five walks with three strikeouts en route to picking up a win. With Cameron being sent back down to the minors, the Royals must feel good about Cole Ragans' (groin) ability to make his next start. Cameron has certainly earned the right to be first in line the next time the big club needs a starter.

Jansen is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Royals, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

For the first time this season, Ben Rortvedt will make more starts in a series than Jansen. It will be Rortvedt at catcher and batting ninth on Thursday as the Rays try to avoid the sweep.

Hoffman (3-0) struck out three over two perfect innings of relief Wednesday to pick up the win in an extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.

After shutting down Boston in the ninth inning, Hoffman stayed on the mound for the 10th and was rewarded when the Blue Jays walked it off in the bottom of the frame. The 32-year-old right-hander has been needed more than one inning in three of his last seven appearances, racking up three wins and three saves during that span with a 0.90 ERA, 0.50 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB over 10 innings. Hoffman hadn't worked since Sunday, so he was well rested, but after tossing 27 pitches Wednesday he likely won't be available should a save situation arise Thursday in the series finale against the Red Sox.

Morel is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Morel was in the lineup for the first two games of the series, going hitless in seven trips to the dish. He'll take a seat in Thursday's series finale as Travis Jankowski mans left field for the Rays.

Single-A Fort Myers placed Pena on its 7-day injured list April 16 due to an unspecified injury.

The 19-year-old infield prospect was hitting .259/.323/.407 with a home run and two stolen bases across 31 plate appearances for Fort Myers before being deactivated.

Amick is batting .388/.465/.442 in 21 games for High-A Cedar Rapids.

Amick was the 60th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, but he didn't impress in his first brief professional season. He hit just .222 with .764 OPS in 18 games at Single-A Fort Myers last year, though he did have a strong 16.0 percent walk rate. He's kept that up with a 16.3 percent walk rate this season, though he does have a concerning 27.3 percent strikeout rate. A continued strong first half of the season could see him promoted to Double-A later this summer since he's a 22-year old out of college (Tennessee) and may be a bit old for his level.

The Rangers acquired Segura from the Phillies on Thursday in exchange for right-hander Daniel Robert.

A 20-year-old right-handed starter, Segura signed with the Phillies out of the Dominican Republic in January 2022 and reached full-season ball for the first time in 2024. He returned to the Florida State League this season and had produced a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB in 17 innings with Single-A Clearwater before being dealt to the Rangers. Segura is likely to report to Single-A Hickory with his new organization.

Gasper is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Gasper will hit the bench after he had served as the Twins' designated hitter in three of the past four games while going 2-for-11 with an RBI and a run. The switch-hitting 29-year-old could see an uptick in opportunities while the Twins are without Royce Lewis (hamstring), Matt Wallner (hamstring) and Willi Castro (oblique), though manager Rocco Baldelli may prefer to rotate a number of players at the DH spot rather than settling on Gasper as the team's primary option.

Jeffers is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Cleveland.

It's an afternoon game Thursday after Jeffers started at catcher Wednesday night, so the Twins' starting backstop will get a breather. Christian Vazquez is behind the dish and batting ninth in the series finale.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that he plans to use Rice at first base "a little bit here" and is "going to try" to work him in at catcher during blowout games, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Boone has begun to think about how he will deploy Rice -- who has a .958 OPS with eight home runs -- when the Yankees get Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) back from the injured list. Rice saw one inning at catcher in the April 27 win against the Blue Jays and Boone wanted to play him behind the plate Tuesday in Baltimore but decided against it after Rice was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old Rice is a natural catcher and works out there and at first base every day. Rice could see enough game action at catcher to earn eligibility there in fantasy leagues, although it probably won't happen anytime soon. Stanton is progressing in his rehab but is not close to returning, so Boone has time to mull how to use Rice once the team is at full strength. The manager did say he is not considering using Rice at any unfamiliar positions, so when Rice plays in the field it will be at first base or catcher.
