Caratini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

With Jeremy Pena getting a day off from playing shortstop but staying in the starting nine at designated hitter, the Astros won't have a lineup spot available for Caratini. The 31-year-old has been a near-everyday player for Houston with Yordan Alvarez (hand) unavailable and is batting .272/.333/.383 with two home runs, eight RBI and five runs since May 5.

Soler was removed from Saturday's game against the Mariners due to groin tightness.

Soler exited Wednesday's contest versus the Red Sox with groin tightness before returning to the lineup Friday, but he appears to have aggravated the injury Saturday. The Angels will likely exercise more caution after the second occurrence of the injury, and the veteran slugger should be considered day-to-day until the severity of the issue is disclosed.

Altuve is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Altuve started the previous 25 games but will receive Sunday off after going 0-for-5 in Saturday's contest. Even with that hitless showing, the 35-year-old still has a .328/.347/.552 slash line with five homers in his past 17 games. Shay Whitcomb is manning the keystone Sunday for the Astros.

Smith (illness) is starting in right field and batting sixth Sunday against the Guardians.

Smith sat out the previous two games due to an illness, but he'll rejoin the starting nine for Sunday's series finale in Cleveland. The 22-year-old has just one hit in his last 17 at-bats, and he's struck out eight times during that stretch.

Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Perez started five of the past six games in right field but will take a seat after going 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Saturday's contest. Kerry Carpenter will move out to right field while Colt Keith starts at designated hitter in Sunday's series finale.

Detmers earned a hold against Seattle on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Detmers handled the seventh frame with the Angels up by two runs. The left-hander began the campaign working in a lower-leverage role and had a 10.05 ERA with no holds or saves through his first 12 appearances, but since then he's turned things around, surrendering just one run over his last 12 outings covering 13 innings while posting a 19:7 K:BB. He's become one of the Angels' top high-leverage options, picking up six holds and one save across his past nine appearances.

Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

After he was recently held out of the lineup for four straight games to get a mental break, Garcia had started in right field in each of the ensuing four contests, going 4-for-15 with a stolen base, an RBI and a 0:5 BB:K. Sam Haggerty will spell Garcia in right field.

Langford is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Langford will get his first day off since April 27 while in the midst of an extended rough patch. Over his last 20 games, the second-year outfielder is slashing just .192/.256/.333 with a 31.4 percent strikeout rate. He'll give way to Alejandro Osuna in left field.

The Astros recalled Walter from Triple-A Sugar Land to start Sunday's game against the Guardians, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander is joining the Astros to start Sunday and give Lance McCullers some extra rest between outings. Walter made his season debut for the Astros on May 20 in Tampa Bay and covered five scoreless frames, and he's enjoyed a dominant campaign at Sugar Land with a 2.08 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 49:7 K:BB across 47.2 innings.

Anthony went 1-for-4 with a grand slam, a walk and an additional run scored for Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.

Anthony delivered a message that he's ready for the major leagues in the eighth inning, when he swatted a 497-foot grand slam that left his bat at a velocity of 115.6 miles per hour. The 21-year-old outfielder doesn't much left to prove at Triple-A, and the Red Sox's disjointed performance this season suggests they could use him sooner rather than later.
