Toro is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Angels.

Toro is out of the lineup for a second straight day after starting the previous eight and 21 of the last 22 tilts. The Red Sox are facing a lefty (Yusei Kikuchi) for the second consecutive contest, and the switch-hitting Toro has been much better versus righties (.831 OPS, five home runs) than lefties (.679 OPS, zero home runs) this season. Romy Gonzalez and Nate Eaton will handle first base and third base, respectively.

Anthony is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

The left-handed-hitting Anthony was in the lineup both of the previous two times the Red Sox faced a southpaw, but he'll get a breather Wednesday as the Angels send lefty Yusei Kikuchi to the hill. Wilyer Abreu will start in right field and Rob Refsnyder will serve as the designated hitter for Boston.

The Rays pulled Palacios off his rehab assignment Tuesday while the 28-year-old continues to deal with intermittent soreness in his right knee, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "He's not moving like he wants to move," Rays manager Kevin Cash said of Palacios.

After opening the season on the injured list while recovering from a finger fracture, Palacios was cleared to join the Rays on April 17, but he sprained his right knee in his 2025 debut with the big club and was returned to the IL a day later. The Rays cleared Palacios to head out on a rehab assignment June 10, but after slashing just .125/.243/.156 in eight games between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Triple-A Durham, he's now been shut down again. Cash noted that Palacios isn't dealing with any aggravation of the knee injury, but it's unclear how long the infielder/outfielder might need to rest before he's ready to resume his rehab assignment.

Triple-A Durham reinstated Jimenez (Achilles) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Jimenez didn't play Tuesday in Durham's 15-6 win over Memphis, but he's healthy again after missing the past five weeks with right Achilles tendinitis. Prior to being activated, Jimenez played in eight rehab games in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and went 2-for-21 with six walks.

Dingler went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 11-4 win over the A's.

The 26-year-old backstop took Luis Severino deep in the third inning for what proved to be the game-winning hit, breaking open a 4-4 tie. Dingler has slowed down at the plate in June, slashing .196/.233/.375 over 18 contests, but he's still supplying good power numbers this month with three of his eight homers and 12 of his 34 RBI on the season.

Julien went 3-for-4 with a home run Tuesday for Triple-A St. Paul. He's hitting .324/.457/.581 with five home runs in June at Triple-A.

Julien is hitting .278/.430/.444 at Triple-A since he was sent down in early May. He's reduced his strikeout rate to 21.7 percent in June, which could show he's found some changes in his approach as a high strikeout rate has been his problem in the majors even with accompanying high walk rates. His recent hot streak could give him another shot in the majors soon with the Twins struggling and perhaps looking to shake up the roster.

Greene went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 11-4 rout of the A's.

The 24-year-old is on a tear, banging out at least three hits in three of his last four games and multiple knocks in eight of his last 14. During that blistering stretch, Greene is slashing .418/.468/.764 with seven doubles, four homers, 12 runs and a whopping 19 RBI.

Skubal (9-2) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk over six innings in an 11-4 victory over the A's. He struck out eight.

For the second straight trip to the mound, Skubal had his routine disrupted by a pregame rain delay, and the left-handed ace served up two-run homers to Brent Rooker in the first inning and Denzel Clarke in the second -- the first long balls he's coughed up since May 20. Skubal found his focus after that, breezing through the next four frames before exiting after 97 pitches (65 strikes). The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner hasn't been tagged for a loss since April 2, a streak he'll look to keep intact in his next outing, which is lined up to come at home this weekend against the Twins.

Noda is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Since getting claimed off waivers from the Red Sox on June 13 and joining the White Sox, the left-handed-hitting Noda has been a fixture in the lineup against right-handed pitching at first base or designated hitter. However, Noda has gone just 2-for-21 with six walks and 13 strikeouts to begin his time with the White Sox, and it wouldn't be surprising if his time as a lineup regular was nearing its end. He'll take a seat against Arizona righty Zac Gallen to open up a spot in the starting nine for Michael Taylor.

Clarke went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 11-4 loss to the Tigers.

The rookie center fielder got hold of a Tarik Skubal two-seamer over the heart of the plate in the second inning and drove it 422 feet to straightaway center field, but the A's offense went dry after that while the Tigers kept roaring. It was Clarke's second career homer, and he hadn't even driven in a run since his last one, which came back on May 31. Since his big-league debut May 23, he's slashing just .207/.233/.299 in 90 plate appearances, but his highlight-reel defense has kept him in the lineup.
