Witt went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Athletics.

Witt continues to swing a hot bat to close out 2025 -- he's posted multiple hits in seven of his last 12 games, going 19-for-54 (.352) in that span. The shortstop is up to 38 steals on the year after his theft Saturday, giving him an outside chance of reaching 40 if he plays in the season finale Sunday. • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Flexing power to close out year

Fitzgerald went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-0 win over Philadelphia.

The rookie outfielder has shown off an impressive power stroke during his limited action in the major leagues, going yard four times in just 43 at-bats this season. It remains to be seen if the 31-year-old infielder will stay with the Twins for 2026, but he's been useful enough so far to figure he has a chance to stick around as depth. Despite batting just .209, Fitzgerald has a .794 OPS with nine RBI and one stolen base.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Three hits, another homer Saturday

Montgomery went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Nationals.

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Out again Saturday

Pena (oblique) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Saturday will mark the sixth consecutive game that Pena has missed due to his strained left oblique. The Astros are still considering him day-to-day for now, but he only has one more chance to return to the starting nine before the regular season ends. Mauricio Dubon will start at shortstop again and bat eighth.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Taking seat Saturday

Crawford isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Crawford will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-14 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored across his last five games. Leo Rivas will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Crawford's stead.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Getting Saturday off

Story isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The Red Sox will give Story a breather Saturday after the team clinched a postseason berth with Friday's win. David Hamilton will pick up a start at shortstop as a result and bat leadoff.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Posts steal in Friday's loss

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one walk and one stolen base in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Padres.

Perdomo is up to 27 steals on the year, though he's logged just three of them over 22 contests in September. He's still hit well this month, batting .325 (27-for-83) with 11 extra-base hits. The shortstop's strong performance is rounding out his excellent season -- he's at a .291/.391/.461 slash line with 19 home runs, 98 RBI, 97 runs scored, 33 doubles and five triples through 159 games.

Impressively, Montgomery has struck out only six times across 31 at-bats (19.4 percent) during his eight-game hitting streak.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Provides offense in loss

Tovar went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Giants.

Tovar got the Rockies on the board with a fifth-inning homer, but that was their only scoring play of the game. This was his first long ball in nearly a month -- his last came Aug. 28 versus the Astros, and he hit a modest .233 (20-for-86) with just two doubles and seven RBI over the 25 games between homers. The shortstop is up to nine homers, 33 RBI, 44 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .256/.299/.402 slash line over 93 contests this season.

This was Adames' first long ball since Sept. 9 versus the Diamondbacks, and he hit just .176 over the 14 games between homers. On the year, the shortstop is at a .226/.320/.420 slash line with 29 homers, 86 RBI, 93 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, 22 doubles and two triples across 158 contests.
